I have a three year old mining rig with three r9 280x and one r9 270.

Now I'm thinking about selling the GPU's and buy new ones.
I'd like to use less power.
I did not follow what GPU is out there is most profitable.
I have 1000W PSU and USB risers for all GPUs.
The 280x cards are power hungry monsters, so I think any new GPU will be better for power consumption.

Should I buy the AMD RX 480? I'm thinking about buying 3 GPUs because of power usage and heat.

Summer is coming...  Shocked

What brand rx480 is better? Shold I buy the 8GB or 4GB version?

I'm mining ZEC for now but I'd like to mine ETH too. And who know what coin will come and be profitable in the long run.

My current GPUs made roi and now they are like free. I think if I sell 4 of them, I can buy two and buy one more with some BTC that I keep.

But I'm not decided yet. Maybe I should just leave everthing as is and continue mining but those 280x cards make too much heat and draws too mush power.

what will you do if you were me? Continue with the old rig or buy new GPUs?

I would do both. Keep this rig running and buy 8GB RX 480s to mine ETH.

Old amd cards are too profitable to sell, 7970 still does $2-3 per day. Selling it for $60-80 just doesn't make sense, wait for the profitability to drop. This if heat and power is not a problem.
