if you try solo mining you'll find that you hardly ever get "average" results. It'll be either really good results(like you're getting now) or really bad.

It's like the weather, temps are usually either  above or below normal.

An average is by definition just an average of the extremes, you hardly ever see it in real life

That's why you have miners chasing "lucky" pools when they are finding blocks, then looking for another when the "luck" turns bad
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

if the pool is reporting the LTC blocks found that you have had extraordinary luck as 1 L3+ should find a LTC block every 22 days at current difficulty.
2 L3+ would find a block every 11 days.

If your L3+ is reporting the blocks found it is a combination of any LTC blocks and merged mined coins.

Litecoinpool for example pays over 100% in LTC by mergemining LTC and another coin to cover profit and expenses.

If you want to solo merge mine LTC and Doge go to Ltc.tbdice.org

So tracking better than 3x ahead. not sure what those other 3 blocks were last night. Found those in the L3+ admin page when I was looking at uptime after switching pools.

Yes, I've also noticed Roulette players playing a number over and over if they hasn't come up in a long time. Not realizing every spin is independent of one another.

I sorta do that too, each month in realtime  I track all my LTC block solving shares even if I'm not mining LTC. Then if I get a long dry spell sometimes I'll jump in and start solo mining. Time before last I found a real block in 18 minutes. The last time I tried it I gave up after about an hour, then found a theoretical block an hour later. I know it's all luck but you have to feel lucky to even try it imo, or it's just a pain in the neck. Not sure how theoretical blocks correlate to actually finding an LTC block. If I had been mining LTC would I have submitted that same block solving share?? .. probably(maybe) not .. It's just a reference point to start solo if I feel lucky (or bored).

Found 2 blocks today. That makes 3 in 9 days. Earned 27 LTC in pool, solo would have been 75 plus fees. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Just on one unit? Or across multiple miners?

2 units (504x2)

what pool are you using? I ordered as well but its my first time.  I already asked for some pointers but no-one replied.

and how would you mine solo? do you need special software and setups?

litecoinpool.org
They raised PPS rates from 102% to 105% to 108% this weekend. Either they are tracking ahead on finding blocks or people are moving to other scrypt alts as Litecoin isn't the most profitable scrypt alt at the moment.

Doge has double in price (the main merged mine coin with Litecoin). Thats the only reason PPS went up to 108. FYI for each LTC block they find, they mine an equivalent of ~2.7 of LTC worth in Doge...thats an equivalent of ~111% PPS so effective pool fee is 2-3%

Is there a way to solo merge mine? without having a lot of tech problems?  Do i need to set up my own pool?

Pretty much....if you want to solo mine in the short term just point your rigs at my pool in my sig...I set it up to help with segwit activation but no one is on it right now. If you find a block its all yours Wink

Is anybody else having problems to log into their bitmain account?
I am getting repeatedly errors from their website when trying to login. Something along the lines of 'passport.bitmain.com' not answering.
Just wondering if this is a problem on my end.

What do you think about this price of 3600 USD on hashnet ?

its fair to get it right now
if you calculate what you earn till 15 august
without price rise of litecoin and quite a bit of extra diffuculty i still get break even near a 100-110 days.
meaning you can buy now and get near 300-400 dollar to go once 30 august hits (assuming it will only arrive around then).
NOTE: thats without price rise which in my eyes is likely meaning roi is possible before that time even.

i got 20 on the 2k usd batch and 20 on the 3k usd batch.
even considering this batch for another 10 they are awesome.

You do realize there is a july batch as well right? Diff will most certainly doubly by July, and probably double again by end of summer.

If you want to mine the L3+'s they have already deployed for their own use, and as
A 'hedge' for them too boot, risk wise of too many miners, you are gonna overpay BIG
using hashnet. Yep, big bucks to pry them away from the data halls to hashnet.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Considering you can buy em with a PSU from Bittawm plus shipping in the US 3600 it's just ridiculous. It's nice for those of us that don't want a noisy as hell miner in our house though, and ROI is reasonable on them. I might consider buying up a little bit in the future.

Even looking at Hashnest PPS the reward is going down real quick, August batch buyers beware of difficulty. LTC mining calculators will be very wrong and we could be seeing an absolute bomb in terms of difficulty soon.

For those of us with April or May units, this 3600 usd price is fine. I'd be a crying if they
had these hashnet units at $1,300, with a turn on in 3 days, let me tell ya! 🤓

NiceHash has a pretty cool system. You can put your minimum price in password field and list NiceHash as primary pool. If the price goes below, it stops sending work and your L3+ will mine on secondary pool. Every so often it tries to go back on primary pool. Not sure if I am losing hashes when it is floating around my limit. I should get a clearer picture in a week. Some people were bidding upwards of 0.07 BTC/GH/Day in short bursts. They probably wanted to get an order filled to see what it was like, but definitely did not run the numbers. it was nice to have gotten 0.035 for a day and a half. now hovering below 0.03.
