On a more serious note, this crypto hype is really killing us miners, I remember back when my old gtx 970 would earn a shitload daily,
especially in today's values (cause I was hodling).

Now all new hardware becomes basically obsolete in a few months or revenue falls x times. :/

Problem is even if people stop buying hardware now , there's still a few batches of bought hardware that's yet to be shipped, and then those might be sold cheap which encourages more people to buy and use and so on.

You need to buy all, start mining with a tiny few and start giving out pre-orders for the ones which are not mining for a premium.
Say you make the pre-order-period 4 weeks. Once ppl who did not calculate that you haven't unboxed most of the batch bought your preorder, start mining the shi*** out of it with the machines you haven't connected, yet. Now it does not matter if they realize their dreams about being biziloinaires in a week are burnt, they already payed.

Well, the raise in difficulty of LTC is slowed down by other coins, there is going to be a tipping point though, where there aren't enough altcoins on scrypt to compensate the raise.
I.e. where there isn't enough market to liquidate them against BTC as a lot of pools instantly go for BTC or LTC.

At this point I'm with you on the fact that the difficulty is not as high as most people would expect.

Made around 900$ out of them already.

Even the l3+ themselves are behaving differrently in standard/freq or fan change.

Interesting just had another L3+ had the ASIC[0] aka the left most board go out. Two in a week had the first asics board go. I wonder if it is shitty engineering  by bitmain as I cracked them open to take a peak and there is no burn marks. I saw it go to xxx then eventually asics = 20 and now it wont use the card.

I got my antminer l3+ today gonna set it up soon can't wait.. although the revenue has gone down a lot since I bought it I'm going to wait a good amount of time to get my 40 ltc back that I paid for it

At least with the L3+ there are enough scrypt coins to spread the hashrate out.  The d3's there isn't a lot of choices to mine with.

Yea that's true, do you suggest using nicehash or something with the L3? Or something else like manually switching through different coins?

Nicehash was the best for me so far.

What are all of our uneducated guesses as to what the litecoin difficulty will be 30 days from now? If they generate anywhere near $19/day 30 days from now when my batch of L3+'s arrive in October I will be a very happy man, lol.

Well, unless the 'newbie dreams' come to pass and the price of LTC pumps. (I hate regressing and relying on newbie dreams. But with bitmain putting them out like toasters, the only shot)

Anyway, if the price is more or less the same for LTC in 30 days you'd be lucky to get $9 vs $19 you claim per day now. I mean really lucky. There is that much bitmain 'toasters' hitting the world.

All pray to the ASIC gods for a price pump on pow-scrypt, or we are beyond screwed.

I think we'll see profits somewhere in-between there, but even at $9/day I'll still be very pleased. I think the longer term profits are what will be more interesting. If the price doesn't rise, and the difficulty keeps rising the way it has been, 3-6 months down the line won't look pretty. We shall see, but I'm optimistic!

That number will materialize. The sooner the better because then the shake out will begin. This is a race to the bottom, then those who made foolish purchases of hardware and pay > .10 Kw will be shit out of the game. What do you expect us to say?  First, no one really cares how you set up your miners. And secondly, it's no ones business to know how I plan to mine my coins.


I could be a BTC miner buying L3+ because they got better BTC payouts than S9s or I go on a coin I believe far more in than LTC...


It's up to you and one more tip, you should stop calculating on $ payouts. One day you make 1LTC and the exchange rate is 50 the next day its 60$.  Still same payout

This will save you quite some money. Also in case of returns and warranties, you can deal with bitmain directly and don't need to deal with AD first.
