Some people are doing it and it is confusing  Huh
Scammers will like it because they keep the post count but can use a new identity. The only way to check is to see their old posts and try remembering who it was.

This is a bad idea with the current security issues with the various bitcoin sites. It'd be a smart thing to change your username from the ones you use on mtgox and pool sites.

Same username is not a problem it's when the password is the same.

Just saw that there's a scammer rank for the forums while browsing the newbie section. Good way to handle that issue.

I think it's cool to be able to change your username at some point without losing your account.

It's not that hard, look at an old post and see the name used when it is quoted. I do wish it would be easier, and that
people would give a heads up - it's confusing to see a name I've never heard with >2000 posts (creighto/Moonshadow, I'm looking at you).

I had a good reason to switch and carried a nametag for a month.
