Sent in a bad AMD 470 and they have no parts or cards (they say) so they sent me this thing - https://us.msi.com/Graphics-card/GeForce-GTX-1070-ARMOR-8G-OC.html#hero-overview GEFORCE® GTX 1070 ARMOR 8G OC

All my rigs are AMD 390's 480's and 470's using Claymore.

A: Should I keep it? What hash should I expect dual mining Eth and DCR?
B: Will it mix and match with a current running rig with 480's
C: Can it be modded like a 480?
D: Will Claymore play nice with it
E: Sell it on eBay and get back to AMD 480

Thanks. Not familiar with Nvidia products for mining.

1070 good for ZEC and LBRY mining

It's worth more than a 470 so it just depends on what you want to do with it.

I'd bet Phillipma1957 would be interested in this -- he currently has an RX480 Asus for sale

Sell it and buy 470. Instant ROI.

Sell it and buy 2x470 if you have free slots.

...I am switching to 1070's
Why are you making a switch to 1070's? With the 500 series coming out 400 stock should start to drop in price or is it due to more power and limited pci express lanes.

If you are after zec 1070 is the way to go. If that 'invisible hand' somehow disappears you might end up with gpu which mines well but costs too much.

I think he can keep it to mine ZEC.

That is a sweet deal! I wish my recent RMA of a (ASUS) 470 would have resulted in a 1070 returned. :p  As said above, the 1070 is a great miner for ZEC.

Well so far it sounds like the 1070 is the card for Zec.

It should arrive in a day or 2.

Now my rigs are all setup for Eth/Dcr.

How would I mine Zec if I slip this card into an existing rig? Just open up a second Claymore miner pointing this card only?

I guess i will need to edit the .bats of the Eth scripts to exclude this card too.

Sound right?

depends on how many rigs you have and how many  cards each rig has.

If you have  a lot of rigs just convert to zec on that rig.

Eh the 1070 can go over 480 sols with ewbf miner, most optimal is usually around 440 sols for 120watt though. You can also get 310 MHS on lbry, 2800 on decred and many other algos..

Well i can get 480 with around 90% of my 1070 cards, if you cannot that is your problem Smiley. Also for example sp_ got it to over 500.

the 1070 does around 380 sols at stock, and bumps up to 440 with minimal issues.

btw i have weird issues with asus gpu twweak 2 always crashing or not displaying properly.  msi afterburner doesnt see the gtx cards, are there any other good OC methods?

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461
No longer a wannabe - now an ASIC owner!

You are so lucky, check with gpuz , but this gpu has the magnificent Samsung ddr. Push the ram to 9000-10000 and gpu 2000 and you will have 480sols and 32mgh on ETH!

Thank you all for the great info. I have switched to EWBF and installed Precision to tweak the card.

Here is BEFORE Tweak

Here is AFTER Tweak (I know I can go more but this is fine for now)

Quite the improvement from stock using NiceHash tool.

Hey what command did you use to get clamore's eth miner to ignore the nvida card?
and also what command did you use for the nicehash zcash miner to ignore the AMD rx480's ?
Now that the 580's are not hashing anything special i'm looking to try nvida & amd rig.
