It really depends on the price of each, but until the driver issue with the 500 series and 6 GPUs is fixed I would definitely buy the 470 or 480s. In the USA at least the price of the 470s is usually enough lower then the 480s to make them the better ROI. You can't go wrong with either 470 or 480 at current Eth prices in any case.

Thx for your Feedback. Has the 480 a higher Hashrate as the 470er cards? Or what is the bin difference?

The 480 hashes a little higher, but it also uses a little more power. If you can buy a Rx 480 8GB for less then <$50 (or Euro) more then a 470 4GB I think it's worth it. If you wind up paying $50-100> (or Euro) more it's not worth it in my opinion.

It appears to me the 570 is taking a de-volt better but I'm still seeing higher consumption.
RX470 1150/2100 88.5w -- 30.5MH/s -- bios set to 915mv / GPU-Z showing 0.9813v
RX570 1150/2100 99.7w -- 30.454MH/s -- bios set to 905mV / GPU-Z showing 0.8875v
I am trying to locate my kil-a-watt to get some real wall numbers.
What tool do you use to mod the bios to 905mv ? Polaris bios editor + msi afterburner (to tweak / control fans). I am having some issues now getting past 2000mhz on multi-card setups. The first card did great :\

Did you mod all cards separately - or applied one rom to them?

Does someone succeeded to have same power consumption between RX4x0 and RX5x0 ? My RX470 runs at 80w gpuz My RX570 runs at 110w gpuz They have exactly same settings (1150mhz core, 2000mhz mem, undervolt ~0.9v) and exactly same performance (28.5 ETH + 715 DCR), but RX570 take maybe 30w more at the wall. This rebrand sucks ?

This rebrand sucks ? It is possible that the new cards have a VRAM power sensor. That 30 extra W could be the combined reading of the two (GPU + VRAM). That's the only logical explanation, the cards are identical.

Did you mod all cards separately - or applied one rom to them? I make one ROM then adjust each card. I am waiting on a PSU for these 570's so right now they are in 2 different PC's for testing. This rebrand sucks ? Try to undervolt more. All of my 570's are running 0.875'ish. They still use a little more power in GPU-Z -- I haven't tested at the wall yet -- maybe gpu-z reports higher usage vs actual usage?

A few GPU tests Sapphire 5xx. A few successes, but one problem. I use: Asus Z270F Strix - Without any problems, 7 GPUs work or MSI Z270-A Pro 6 GPU ready, I have tried, I currently operate about 10 Rigs without problem (RX 4xx) PolarisEditor by jaschaknack - https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor/tree/110aa3a5a0aeafe16bb0a96b53583e7e8e77999b SRBPolaris - BIOS editor AtiFlash 2,74 atikmdag-patcher-1.4.5 Wattool o.92 does not function Sapphire 570 4GB Nitro+ Hynix - strap 1750 - 1100/2050/-96mv-gpu/+20powertarget = 29,3MHs @ cca 156 on the wallSapphire 570 8GB Nitro+ Hynix - Strap 1750 - 1100/2100/-96mvgpu/+30powertarget = 29,6MHs Sapphire 570 4GB Pulse Elpida - strap 1750 - 1100/1910/-96mv-gpu/+30powertarget = 24MHs @ cca 150-160 on the wall Sapphire 580 8 GB Pulse Hynix - strap 1750 - 1100/2150/-96mv-gpu/+30powetarget = 27,3MHs @ Here I do not know exactly, a little more than 570, No more than 170 Sapphire 570 4GB Mini Elpida - strap 1750 - 1110/2040/-96mvgpu/30+target = 26,3-26,4 @ 164w on the wall = 169 USD newegg very nice Sapphire 580 8GB Nitro+ - Hynix - Strap 1750 - 1100/2200/-96mvGPU/50powertarget = 27,8MHs Hynix on 570 is better then Hynix on 580. Hynix on 570 timing 7777 @ 1750 but 580 hynix 999 @ 1750 but i have to check this because the problem is two different time sets 1: 1750 and 2: 1750 each for another set of memories. This is my tests, But I have a little problem. The signature for the modified bios driver is ok. But it does not work at the same time 570 with 580 on one motherboard. If the 4x 570 works and re-sign the driver, the 580 runs but does not run 570. Simply, it works either it or it. It does not work together. Does anyone have any advice or idea? Maybe a new Atipatcher? These numbers raise a few eyebrows... Can you please perhaps check the memory markings physically on the following cards and maybe take photos of the numbers: Sapphire 580 8GB Nitro+ - Hynix Sapphire 580 8 GB Pulse - Hynix Sapphire 570 4GB Pulse - Elpida Sapphire 570 4GB Mini - Elpida Sapphire 580 8GB Nitro+ - Hynix - Strap 1750 - 1100/2200/-96mvGPU/50powertarget = 27,8MHs A simple copy of the 1750 strap and I got up to 29.6 MHs in dual mode DCR with ver 9.3 at defualt DCRI - memory frequency was 2130 MHz and didn't even try pushing higher but I think it would go to 2200 for above 30 MHs. So you have some errors in those numbers mate. Please redo your tests. Possibly you didn't edit the right timings so your scores are basically default timings with overclock Expect much more from the 580 8gb cards. Please also tell us if the RX 580 Pulse radiator is bigger in size compared to its predecessor the Nitro without the +...

Wandering if anybody has had success with the MSI 570 Armor 4gb OC. I have backed up the rom and opened it in both polaris 1.4 and 1.4.1. It has hynix memory in it. In 1.4 the assumption was that I would see timings labeled like 1:1750 or 1:2000 but I do not, I just have this When I open the rom in pbe 1.4.1 I have a blank box in the timings area for memory. I have the newest relive drivers and I have the sig patch in windows 10 64. I am also wandering if anyone has a rom for the same card of 470. I hear that you can flash a 570 with a 470 rom of the same make/memory. Any help is greatly appreciated! ______________EDIT_____________ So I used this version https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor and I am able to see the 1:1750 and so on. Now question is do I do the 1:XXXX or the 2:XXXX I have heard 1 is for certain memory and 2 is for other.

I got MSI 4G (not armor) Tested 1200/2100 on 1:1750, 1:1625, 1:1500, 2:1750, 2:1625, and 2:1500 and found the last on got the highest 30-30.5 but hangs in seconds. So I reduced clocks to 1200/2000 and got 28.7 (2:1500) no mv yet

Yes now we can see but many are not mentioning the needed info Yeah, I guess I should have stated it. So it is a 4Gb. And this test rig of mine is powered by a shitty Corsair 750W bronse PSU, so the power figures would be slightly better with a gold PSU. Mobo draws ~40W idle. when changing from 470 to 570 have to change the power supply 750 watts? So far as I can, in terms of power, the 570 uses the same or slightly less power than the 470 at the same core frequency. However, the 570 has one 8-pin and one 6-pin pcie power connector, whereas my Sapphire 470 Nitros have just one 8-pin power connector. So there will be more cables running between your PSU and GPUs. So far I havent tested if the 570 will work ok with just the 8-pin connector connected. When I get time I will test if it is possible to run the gpu with just the 8-pin power connected. I run my 580's with just 1 8-pin. 6 of them
