Thanks mate. How is the payout calculated once the block is found? Based on how many shares my.miners generated?
When you say long enough what sort of timeframe you referring to?
At the moment the website says only 4 blocks found ever? Is that right?

I think "patron saint" is a title is reserved for the guy who's investment could buy my house and acreage 4 times over, but I'll take the compliments where I can get them.  Cool
ComputerGenie, please keep helping us increase our knowledge. After that 100% diff that we reach, we still keeping getting more then the 100 diff, its about the luck thing, is that right?

How does this thing luck work in our environment? Its real luck or just just something like:

This round we had to mine 110% of the diff, then for some next round, we are going to take 91% of the diff. I mean, its REAL luck or one time will be compensataded?

Yes

Average block solve time is ONLY historical and doesn't really give a forecast for the future

Either we're lucky or we're not.

Mentlegen if any of you would be kind as to explain to me why i am on the payout list and i have not received a payout. I understand the fact that we have not found a block yet, but therein lies my doubt. Is that payout list for pending payout or are those already payed?.

Also thanks in advance.

I just have  about a week or so in the pool and about 2 or 3 months mining, moved from antpool.

The payout list shows what would be rewarded if a block is found right now. i.e. pending, but changes with every block and how the txn fees are stacking up.

the best way I can process the difference one feels, as I understand the fundamental differences between this pool and others, is the difference between working for yourself and working for a corporation. Working for yourself, you get paid irregular but you get paid with accrual even if you stop working for a while. That's this pool. You have no idea when you get paid and you might get less in the same initial period of time, but you will take all you earned on hash and you get it as residual even if you stop hashing here.
with the other pools, I use slush, you get a "bitcoin paycheck" - every 3-4 days (whatever it is for you) you get that payment but if you stop working for them, you don't receive anything anymore. not even a goodbye Smiley

and that's the dilemma. If you need the earning on a regular, do you take $0.90 to the $1? probably. but if you can afford to let it ride, you'll earn most from your hardware than anywhere else. and you pay less in transaction fees if my observation is correct

Faust07,

And don't forget if your trying to do some math on what your earning here.  Back on page 39 ComputerGenie did a pretty good explanation of how what your seeing is what you will make for the next block we find.  But you will also get incrementaly smaller payouts over the next 4 blocks found as well.

There are quite a few people who quit mining here because they thought they would make more elsewhere,  then they kept getting payments from their initial hashing and came back because they realized the would make more here.

It seems like the diff dropped last night. Wasn't it at 112 or something? Now it's at 106. Can the diff change like that? Or was I just not paying attention to the right stuff.

Network diff just went up, so current work diff will go down accordingly.

Maybe ComputerGenie can edit his #3 post and put together a FAQ for everyone,  especially the noobs we need to start hashing here to hopefully get us a LOT bigger.  Smiley

OK,  take it that is a no.

and yes that is all excellent reading, but won't do a lot for this pool and all the questions.

heading out of town for the weekend but maybe if I get time next week I will go through all 47 pages and make a "Best of List" with questions and answers to post up here.

Have a great weekend everyone and Hash On.

You'd be amazed at how many of the most asked questions wouldn't need to be asked with a basic knowledge of how Bitcoin works and what it is/isn't.  Wink
