Right, it means when we find a block, that's how much you will get as a payout.

Oh. So after a cycle? Wait for the second one found for a payout to happen? Was chipping away before the last block came.

You weren't in the payouts list at the time the block came.

Here are the full block details for the last found block:
http://ckpool.org/blocks/507708.confirmed

You'll see you're in the postponed list with this much herp:
"14KWusF6jjxCaEi1e2fF2pv4AUFybo6RMe": 1084910365.24,

You hadn't mined enough prior to that block find.

Right, it means when we find a block, that's how much you will get as a payout.

This statement is confusing to me (as a newbie). Seems like you should have said; If we find the current block (that we are working on), that's how much you will get as a payout.

The reward for each block changes and more than likely you will not get that amount, could be more or could be less.

Now if you changed derp to show the payout based on the minimum block reward of 12.5 you could state it the way you did. But, you would need a new field to track the variable payout from fees included in the block.

Here's hoping that number isn't also a prediction for future difficulty.

I'm getting the following error message for MRR. Is there anything I can do about it?

One or more workers on this rig has been assigned a share/worker difficulty by your pool that is too low. Hashrate performance issues may occur.
The OPTIMAL Difficulty range for this rig is 18,626 - 112k
Please either adjust your worker settings at your pool, or change pools if you are unable to do this at your current pool. Thanks!

If you are not mining at ckpool.org, you are just doing it wrong.

It will adjust so shouldn't be a problem. If it's a problem, connect to port 4334 instead.

Thanks for your help CK. I changed the port to 4334 and removed the worker extension. The owner of the rig is saying "diff shows 1MEG on the miner. It will never return any hash at that diff. Diff should be about 12k."

Doesn't matter. Leave it there and it will adjust down as soon as 3 shares have been submitted.

It will return hashes, it'll simply take a longer time (also means your effective pool hashrate will fluctuate a lot more).
Assuming you're mining with an Antminer S9, you'll get a share every 5-6 minutes (on average).

It never did. I had it pointed to port 4334 for a few hours and then back to port 3333. On port 4334, I was getting an error message that my diff was too high. On port 3333, the diff was too low.  I created a support ticket and was able to get almost 100% refund.

This quote is from one of the admins from MRR:

"We do have to pay the rig owner for the time that the rental was elapsed. This rig owner does well on his rigs, you can see the rig's history is stable. Your pool choice did not work, we do not give refunds for pool related issues.
If we gave away full refunds everytime a renter makes a mistake, we'd go bankrupt really quickly.
I'll issue a credit this time, but we expect the investment should be worth while.
Thanks."

I do have to say that their support team responded to my ticket in a matter of minutes, which was nice to see, I was renting 8THs for 900 hours coming from an R4. Maybe I did make a mistake, but I was using a saved profile that worked in the past. The one thing I really don't like about this whole deal is that if you look at the renter's current rental history, I'm listed as green (positive).

Just FYI...
I have used port 4334...it worked fine...kind of cool to see min diff of shares at 1,000,000.
Insane amount of discards and variance does swing but no rejects, no stales and hash rate did average out fine...
Not a rental...190TH..14x S9's

I'm now renting 82T for about 72 hours using port 3333. I did see the too low error message for about 30 minutes, but now everything has level out.

The default port should scale to any hashrate. Port 4334 won't go below 1 million and is purely for shit rental services that limit connections to 1M+

Hello All,

Question, Can you actually make money renting rigs?  I am totally new to the renting and have looked at a couple of companies.  The numbers don't look like you can come out ahead on the deal.  I would be willing to take some profits and rent if I could come out with a bit more that I put in...  Any suggestions on where to rent and how would be appreciated...  Please explain to the mind of a newbie so small words and pictures would be great...

The short answer is: almost never. On rare occasions you can rent hash for a low price and come out ahead; 99% of the time you'll either make pennies or spent more than you get out of it (if you could regularly make more than miners charge to rent, then miners [not counting n00bs using some point&click app] wouldn't rent).

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Thinking of pointing my new miners over here. They aren't very big, though. I am trying to see if it is worth my effort. What is the current dust limit to get on the payout list?

And just to confirm my understanding after reading through these last few pages : if I contribute shares and earn above the payout threshold, as a little guy I go on the list to eventually get paid, even if I stop mining here in the interim?
