Not unless you want to differentiate from each worker. Might be good for troubleshooting or clocking.

No T9 or s9i at these prices huh?

Clocking?

So mixing different speeds is a no-no?
The pool does not care about different speed miners using the same name as they will all be aggregated together. But that said -- not sure what effect that will have on the diff each miner uses. The aggregate hash rate will be the sum of all miners under the name and I suspect that will result in *all* of the miners using higher than optimal diff.

Personally, just use  username.minerID  so each miner is identified and gets whatever diff the pool thinks it needs. All miners will still use the same username for the reward and bonus to that is as said before, you can now easily keep an eye on how each miner is doing.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Picked up a factory sealed V9 for $105 US delivered ..... seems their being dumped by some suppliers up here

They must know something, shakeup coming?

it is a loser unless your power cost is close to zero

if you have 0-4 cents a kwatt it makes profit.

at 5 cent power it loses   20 cents a month
at 4 cent power it earns $4.43 a month
at 3 cent power it earns $9.07 a month
at 2 cent  ................... $13.71
at 1 cent  ................... $18.34
at 0 cent .................... $22.98

so it should pay off in 5 months if your power is free

of course if you need a space heater and would use one anyway it has more value.
at 0 cent

it is not about better gear right now

the game is cheap power as gear has flooded the market.

Understood

6 cents..... these are short term o/c

Part of the learning curve for this tech before investing in faster down the road

Plus my location / power supply is limited

Each connection has its own diff so it doesn't matter if you use the same workername. Using different workernames is only there for the convenience of the user. If it's of no utility to you then just use the same workername.

the game is cheap power as gear has flooded the market.

Depends on what you have as prices are so low. If I didn't upgrade I'd have a bunch of s7's turned off for a while now and even with the business rate (waiting for my first bill) probably would have turned them off or most. But I won't argue cheaper power makes any asic viable and mining accessible as 1th/s for $25 is really good with a great power rate. Strong bull market makes it even better.

I really hope I can get my exhaust upgraded and get a couple more before market surges and prices go back up. Worse case I have the s7's to power on again. Really excited though to see how the year plays out. Also glad I found a great pool. Even before mfb hired me I was struggling with other pools for a while. Leaving just the s9 on today through he heat, maybe I can kick on the avalons. Couple more hours to peak temp here in Portland. We'll see.
