According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Hello Fellow Miners!

I have a technical question about miners and pools.

I have 10 miners- 2-T9's(11.5TH/s), 2-T9+'s(10.5TH/s) and 6-V9's(4TH/s), and on this site/pool, the only miners that seem to work correctly without H/W errors, a lot of "rejected" and :discarded" shares, and with in factory hash rates are the T9's. The T9+'s show R/T has as per factory hash rate, but only show 8.5-9.3TH/s hash rate on this site. The V9's get a lot of H/W errors as well as "rejected" and "discarded" shares, but, I get an accurate hash rate.
The V9's are fairly new and run at stock 600MHz, and I do not get ANY H/W errors on a few different pools( I won't mention names ).
The T9+'s are fairly new as well, and I do get some H/W errors, but not like the V9's.
The T9's I bought used, and seem to be the only one's that "agree" with this site.
All miners have the latest firmware, and are cleaned on a regular basis, so I don't think heat would be an issue. All miners use the same make/model of P/S, so I don't thing that is an issue.
So I guess my question would be: What is the issue with all the H/W errors only on this pool? And only on the V9's? ( Yes, they are Bitmain, so possibly I got some "defective" miners?)
Why do the T9+'s not show the correct hash rate?

So, if any one could shed a little light on my "technicial" issues, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been mining about a year, and have been thru a lot of pools, and came across this one, and it seems like a pretty neat site. I've been following the banter between users and see how everyone seems to care about pretty much the same things. Not many pools seem to share the same views/values as the users here at CKPool.

To CK: Great work on the mining software(or any other software) you developed and maintain. You should get some recognition from whom ever uses your core software, period!

Excellent pool as well!

I have two V9's myself and killed one off during the recent heat wave
Same experience as yourself with other pools but I'm sure it's due to the build quality of these low cost Bitmain S7 wannabe's
I've found for CK's pools, 400Mhz produces no hardware errors and only 10 ~ 20% rejects
My original Gekkoscience gear runs "way" better, no issues
Put the V9's on CK's Solo pool, better served there at the lower frequency
Low cost but low quality, only my opinion

Can someone clarify the ramp up/ramp down again for me? I'm a small miner and have less than 100 gh at the moment. I've been mining here for months and managed to earn $1.06 as of a few days ago (not sure my herp/derp numbers as this was from the computergenie site.

Anyway, I get a problem with my miner and had to take it offline for 48 hours before I could start it again... Only to see my prior work is essentially erased and now I'm sitting at $0.05 in pending payouts.

So my question is if it is even worth my time mining here. I can't guarantee my miners won't have downtime in the months to years it will take to get in the payout pool, and if my prior work gets superceded by the guys with the real hashrates in only a few hours I will never earn a payout.

I don't expect to turn a profit mining, I do it to support the network but if I'll never even get a miniscule payout I might as well join the solo pool and give up here.

Update in case anyone else new cares:

So it took me a while but I finally figured out why my work "disappeared" - I got paid!  I have it set to an old address I don't use and checked it only to see I've gotten more than one.

Basically, I had assumed they my hashrate was so low that I'd be months between payouts, but I actually got in the queue with nothing more than a pod miner.  All my prior confusion was simply because my first payout coincided with that random down time.

Makes me wonder if a "total btc paid" line to the miner stats would be helpful.

Anyway, FYI

Finally!

What is also nice is I did two small rentals.

You need to hit five blocks for a rental to be worth it. Due to 5n rule.

So far these rentals made 13 blocks about 0.013 in coin for 0.01 in rentals

Update in case anyone else new cares:

So it took me a while but I finally figured out why my work "disappeared" - I got paid!  I have it set to an old address I don't use and checked it only to see I've gotten more than one.

Basically, I had assumed they my hashrate was so low that I'd be months between payouts, but I actually got in the queue with nothing more than a pod miner.  All my prior confusion was simply because my first payout coincided with that random down time.

Makes me wonder if a "total btc paid" line to the miner stats would be helpful.

Anyway, FYI
Minerbobbert:
I'm only a Junior here but I've been hashing and reading Forums for quite some time now... and like you, I read everything I could lay my eyes on when I first started. It was only recently that I got enough knowledge (hopefully) and courage to contribute to this Forum... I remember that early on (I think it was one of the GS threads) that you and (was it?) your son had so much trouble getting the software to run the hardware... might even have been a Raspberry Pi controller(?) - that seems so long ago now...Anyways, I've been here at this pool since Feb/Mar - back in the days when the tab read [7PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE...

A few pages back, -ck explained that small miners were at about 11 block solves per payout. I think my payouts at that time had been at 11 or 12 solves. So I figured he was talking about me. Then came a 7 then a 5... You get the idea. When I first started here, I think I guessed or calculated that my first payout in would be in October... obviously the pool has been growing... and you always have the freedom of choice. Mine here - small payments. Mine solo, but only as a lottery. Or mine both if you can.

I don't think you and I are likely to get rich on ANY pool with our 2-PACs and Pods and their hash rates, but I've been mining here long enough to know that you will be welcome and from my calculations anyways, I make more BTC here than any other pool that I've tried. I've even tried mining sh*tcoins->BTC and am honest enough to admit that I did it - but it was always less BTC in the end. So now that you've `discovered' your payments, I'd imagine your already pretty clear on how the pool works, so I'm just checking in to say `hey'... and if your not clear on something, ask away... there are good people here. Know that you're in a good place.

The block, an obstacle in the path of the weak, became a stepping-stone in the path of the strong.

That is now officially our luckiest 24 hours by far, just as I have to stop mining myself since the weather is warming up, and stop getting any rewards myself soon...
