Of course they did and it's the regret that's making them want to make things right now that's why they signed Xabi Alonso and they are giving him all the authority that they denied Maresca so they don't end up making another mistake. Signing Xabi Alonso is a good thing, I believe he is a coach good enough to make Chelsea better again after Maresca. It was clearly a bad decision because after the sacking, Chelsea looked so inconsistent and finished in a much worse position, unable to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League. Other clubs can't be ignored either because sometimes favorites can't reach the championship for one reason or another. This often happens, as experienced by Xabi Alonso because this team should have been the favorite to win the title, but they were actually stopped by Atalanta who were not the favorite to win at all in that season.

It's because Liverpool's board is still backing Arne Slot. They believe in him to continue his project for another season. In fact, although Slot's squad was performing poorly, but they still end season in the top 5. So i think the board is still trusting him, and they give him a chance to prove it next season.
I understand many of Liverpudlians are favoring Xabi to replace Arne's position. The problem is board still confidence enough with Arne. So that's why Xabi to Liverpool was not happening.

Al Nassr?! Nah! Yeah their manager announced he'll be leaving after helping them to win the Saudi league but I do not see Pep Guardiola swinging that way.

I read a new report is suggesting Newcastle considers Nunez to be the 2nd striker for the club. They have signed Woltemade, but it's not working well for them. So they're looking for a new striker their offensive problem after Isak was leaving.
