Dear mining community,

I have read a lot about mining (ETH) under linux with gtx 1070 for better results, but I also encountered that now it's also possible under windows 10.

Which one should I use? Linux or windows? And which miner gives the best result?

On a further note, I currently have 3 gtx 1070's, but I realize that these cards are like a year old.

Would it be beneficial for me to buy 3 more to get a 6 card rig?
Or wait for new cards to come out or even change to AMD cards for mining.

Any advise I would sincerely appreciate.

With kind regards,
Boomsjakalaka

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Don't waste 1070 on eth , just mine zcash you will get the best performance of it on zec and best profitability , nVidia shines on zec now.

I see 28+ Mh on ETH, 380 or so Sol/s on ZEC for my EVGA 1070 cards (and a hair higher on my Gigabyte non-ITX cards but those have higher stock clocks) - but the version of Nicehash I run them on for ZEC isn't the most recent, and I've not put any real effort into fine tuning them nor do I like to push cards to their limits.

DO make 100% certain you run something like MSI Afterburner on them to set the fan speed curve up a LOT.

I use flypool on the ZEC side of my mining for stuff I'm not running Nicehash on.

I use nanopool.  I know other members who use Flypool.
