OMG ...bitcoin is a small market...influenced by little crap

... IF A STUPID HACKER JOKE which was TOTALLY 100% JUST A JOKE (no person with a brain ..a working one at least could have really believed that the WH was bombed and obama injured last week ...and still ppl believed it ...even though it was not confirmed and boom ...dow jones, nasdaq ..shit went flying down in value ...

now same happens with bitcoin ...a couple of idiots there a couple here and panic and boom ...drops value.
1.Don't let some google analysis destroy the bitcoin market or value
2.Don't add stress to that by EXPECTING bitcoin to crash ESPECIALLY IF U USE IT !!! TRUST THIS COIN OR FUCK OFF ! Wink dont speculate on its fall, but try to make it thrive and make it stronger !!!

I think what you are saying is "don't let market volatility undermine the long term value of bitcoin."  Am I on base here?

The main question then to ask is how do we control BTC market volatility in the current unregulated infrastructure?

I think what you are saying is "don't let market volatility undermine the long term value of bitcoin .... pretty much ...(long term value here being its functionality .... for what we care bitcoin can have any value for x .... it can be x = 1 or x = 100000 ...if the value is more ore less constant than in the long term this is a solid and pretty beneficial mean of payment .... but if it changes from one day to another by more than 5% ...maybe even 10% ...well that's very volatile ... not even a SR dealer wants too be paid in something that might become -20% by the time escrow is released and than -30% by the time he cashes out ...only to find out that tmw it's +10% but that doesnt matter to him anymore now that he cashed out .... most ppl want to use money fiat or krypto to PAY and BE PAID IN ...and not to speculate on its value to make +/- a couple of bucks ...that's the stock market and brokers thingy ...not the normal clients interest....imo

how to overcome this ??
...by circulating the bitcoins as much as possible and by speculating on their value as less as possible ?

I think we need more panics. Many small panics are preferable to fewer larger panics.

The same way you change the behavior of any market: money.

If you have some money you can afford to lose, invest half of it in bitcoins and leave the other half as your favorite national currency. If the price of bitcoins goes down, buy a few bitcoins so that you're holding half-and-half again. If the price of bitcoins goes up, sell a few bitcoins so that you're holding half-and-half again.

If you follow this strategy, then every time the market swings wildly because of inconsequential nonsense, you make money, and the mechanism of you making money ever-so-slightly dampens the swings.

If there is something that will make Bitcoin succeed, it is growth of utility - greater quantity and variety of goods and services offered for BTC. If there is something that will make Bitcoin fail, it is the prevalence of users convinced that BTC is a magic box that will turn them into millionaires, and of the con-artists who have followed them here to devour them.

I think that overestimate the power of these forums.

99% of bitcoin investor don't read these forums. They are completely oblivious to what is said here.

These forums are more a reflection of what is going on on the bitcoin market than an influence on it.

To me, it looks like the panics are caused by someone with craploads of Bitcoins. It looks like someone starts making a series of big sells, which causes other people to panic sell. Then, when downward momentum has died down, they quickly buy back. All this happens so quickly, I think it's actually someone's bot.

the funny thing is, once everyone starts expecting a crash, and rubbing their hands greedily together as they place massive bids at $50, we can be almost sure the market won't get there. all these people are doing are bulking up supports, changing the tides on the order book, and solidifying the bottom.

markets are self-organizing -- don't worry about that. the strong hands stay around, so there will be more and more of them as time goes on. i don't think we'll EVER see panic like post-June again.

I'm curious what data you analyzed to come to this conclusion. Do you have access to data that would allow you to associate sales with individuals? That would be awesome data to have.
