There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

too long roadmap, in couple months when airdrop will finish, we will touch the ground. How can you put " q3 2018 new exchanger" ? are you serious?
Seems you miss the point of a roadmap. Also new exchanges will come in Q1 too, not only Q3, if you actually bother to read the roadmap properly.

He seems to be pointing to an inevitable crash after the airdrops end... I wonder what would be the logic in that. To me it seems that the airdrops were priced in during november when the BTX/BTC price dropped from over 0.004 to its current level. When the airdrops end, I'd expect some dumping to happen, but by then we should be higher on the CMC ranking too.

Real believers are not going to dump too much when the airdrops end.

I was having the same fear last summer, when the airdrop was seemingly the main reason to own this coin. But then I have realised the intrinsec qualities of BTX, while the obvious flaws of Bitcoin have become more visible. Now I think that once the airdrop will end the price can actually take off, since the coin will by then be more decentralzied and the devs won't have most of the premined coins in their bags any more - which is something that obviously scares a lot of investors.

100%% Agreed

well i got my 10 BTX without issue, and im not so rich Wink
I do not think so. The current BTX price is about $ 25, if you have 10 BTX it equals $ 250. In my opinion it's not too little. I think BTX price will soon increase because this coin has a promising future.

I wanted to add native Bitcore client to BarterDex. I run Bitcore and BarterDex at the same time, but when I try to add I get the following message:

Quote
Bitcore (BTX) : It appears you don't have an installation of this coin's wallet on your computer. If you believe this is an error, please make sure the following steps are complete:

1. The coin's wallet is properly installed.
2. The wallet is running on your machine, and the wallet is synced to its network.
3. The wallet has the proper RPC settings in its configuration file.
4. If the above steps are complete, then BarterDEX may simply need to be refreshed. Please log out of BarterDEX, log in again, and reactivate your coin.

I checked 1, 2 and 4 and they are fine. What is meant with 3? What are the proper RPC settings and where do I find the configuration file for MacOS?

Thanks for your support!

There will be some dumping after the airdrops ends that for sure , but also there will be no more flooding of new BTX on the market, and the difficulty for mining will by then be much much higher.

Where have I been when fork was 1BTC:1BTX ?  Huh Angry Another one missed chance in my life...
Not a missed chance , you are probably better of buying some btx and receiving the airdrop every week.
You will get 5 % this month and it goes up every month by 1% .
That is a much better opportunity.

At least one to receive the airdrop, if you registered your address the right way.

The more you have, the more airdrop you get.

Can anyone recommend a good tutorial for beginners to mine BTX? Are people mining it successfully with their GPU or CPU? All the mining threads are really mixed and frankly fairly thought to follow for someone just starting.

Beside the YT tutorial above some notes:
Recommended to use GPU only. Depends what kind of cards do you have, nVidia or AMD. If nVidia go find ccminer SPmod2 (u will get extra hash rate xx%).

Pools (I have tested first two):
https://www.bitcorepool.cc/ (1,5% fee; good and stable one)
http://s.umine.org/ (0,5% fee, good and stable one)
+ some others (suprnova.cc etc.)

I am right now testing http://psychedelic.fi/ - pool has low hash rate so blocks are found not so often, but then you get good reward, plus is as well 0% fee (or actually nowadays -1% Smiley), pool is run by juhakall from Suomi (Finland). Perkele Terve juhakall!

If you need more help write down or drop me PM.

Cards I have tested mining BTX (not much played with OC/UC): GTX 1070, GTX 1060 (both 6GB and 3 GB), GTX 1050 (4GB), GTX 1030, GTX 965M (should get soon 1050 TI for testing). I can give some +/- hashrates on these.

Somewhat good tutorial (even I would do some things differently): http://jkcrypto.com/how-to-mine-bitcore-btx/

Thank you very much for the 1 BTX christmas present... soon it will be worth 1,000.00 USD  Grin

This is what you could call optimism Smiley Of course I strongly hope you are right, since is you are I will be rich by then Smiley
If we stick together, then everything is possible.

Yes, you have framed it: this is the magic of crypto - the power of communities is what is giving value to a currency, nothing else! The bigger and the better one community, the higher the value of their currency of choice.

Thanks crytpoam!!! I am running:

Intel(R) Core i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHZ w/ 16GB Ram
NVIDEA GeForce GTX 1080

Given the pools mentioned below, how do you pick your pool / determine the net potential when factoring in stability, hash rate, dificulty, payout value and fee? Do you just try them or is there a calculator or rating system which has been created?

What would you change from that tutorial?

What is the reasoning behind these dumps you postulated? Of course if too many people expect that to happen it will for no other reason than that, but then people will try to dump early etc. It's hard to speculate what will happen.

Actually 6% and it is weekly so for the rest of the month it is 19.7%. Then in February it goes to 7% per week.
