So I've got very very small percentage of profits from my quick trades so far at poloniex, as the amount I put in was not that big enough to the profit margin obviously wasn't great either. I've been into trading for less than a month so just learning the art as well.
But now I'm thinking of going all in and putting all of my bitcoin(not very big amount) in one of the coins for a longer time so I can get bigger returns.
I'm thinking Ripple and Monero as my two options, what do you guys think? Which one should I choose?
Which one of these has good prospects? Not looking for a quick trade and not a too long one either like 6 months or a year.
So do you see any one of these, especially where they are right now, giving me 25-50% profit in a couple of months?

I think nobody can answer your question and know in advance which coin will rise so much in a small timeframe. It is never a wise choice to go all in in an altcoin anyway, you could win big but also lose everything in a single wrong trade.

when you ask this kind of question that means you shouldn't be trading. because the first rule of trading is that you should trust yourself and your own experience not others say, specially on a forum like this that everyone is lying through their teeth to get their altcoin pumped Cheesy

So do you see any one of these, especially where they are right now, giving me 25-50% profit in a couple of months?
these are in a bubble, which means they have a bigger chance of giving you -25% to -50% negative profit (aka loss) instead.
instead look for something that has not been recently pumped and it is in a big dip. preferably for a long time on a low price.

let me put it this way for you:
on one hand you have Ripple and Monero and some other big coins that have recently been pumped. they may go up but there is a bigger chance of going down. and even if they go up they can not go up much.

on another hand you have other altcoins that have not been pumped yet, so there is a bigger chance for them to go up and if they go up they go up >100% but there is also a chance of them to go lower but smaller chance.

now you choose which hand you like more.

Possibly XEM, might be worth you checking this coin out it has grown a lot over the last few months and "could" provide you with those returns in the next few months, just to make your job harder you now have three to choose from Smiley

Try not to go all in though on any singular coin, much better to spread your investment out among a few different coins.

Ive been reading all recent comments above and most of them do really propose other altcoin which isn't on your choices and I would like to tell you that no one would able to give the precise answer that yo uare looking for since most traders are asking the same thing too on which coins would potentially rise up after a month or years. Ripple is good but I think Monero do really have the edge in any way but I'm still not sure which coin will give profits in future that's why be careful on choosing specially you are going on all in.

You can go "all in" with all your bitcoin, but it is not smart to put all those bitcoin in one altcoin.

Spreading the risk is the way to go. You can still go all in and possibly reap more profits if one of the coins you buy makes some great ROI.

Less money on risk = less returns or should I say it will grow eventually but you can't feel much the profits on it's way. You obviously want to have a decent income without waiting for a long time.

So generally, you are trying to go on for an altcoin that is meant for long term holding. Then why focus on bitcoin itself? No one can tell you here if Ripple and Monero will give you an assurance that it will give you a sure profit for about couple or more months. That's is the challenge in doing altcoin trades, face the all the possible risks.

If you are not yet ready to face those associated risk then stay away from the things you don't have knowledge. If you have some knowledge, you must know that no one here can tell you the exact coin to choose.

Its your own decision when you decide to go all in on of those coins but you should really think up on the risk involved on it you might earn or you might lose money but those coins you said do have good price movements which also had the potential for longer years to come. If you can able to handle the risk on all in then proceed because if we dont risk something we dont really earn something too.

Like you said, you've been at it for one month, if you haven't lost a few tens of thousand in crypto you haven't learn any lessons.

Your plan doesn't seem solid and your chosen coins even less, look at projects who aren't already pumped, you may find some that will perform better than bitcoin in the next 12 months, but it will also be a gamble.

While it is impossible to know how much a coin will worth in the future (short or long term), some altcoins seem to have a good future ahead. LTC is working on SW and this is bringing attention to it, making its price rise, and there is some other news that looks important (open bazaar adoption, for instance). ETH also have had one good news after another, so maybe there is some room to further rise in the price. Star to follow the news, tweets and the market for these two altcoins.

But I actually thought these to be exactly what you said an alt should be, they have been in sort of a big dip lately and though the time is not that far but their pump was actually a while ago, so they have been pumped, and now on a big dip, that is why I chose them, also that they have big marketcap, so they are seemingly more reliable than a coin who has never been pumped which means he also has very small marketcap in comparison to these.

Going all in is very dangerous for altcoins especially for those low volume altcoins. You need to hold the coin for a very long time and there is a risk that exchanges will delist the coin, driving its price lower.
I prefer to trade altcoins than hold them for long periods of time. The potential returns are much higher but you need to be able to bear the risks.
