I read this article today when I got home from work and learned that BTC-E is also having banking issues like Bitfinex. I searched the internet for more information but there is no news or no announcement on Twitter that they are having problems. Can anyone confirm if this is true?

While it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold, with BTC-e and OKCoin joining Bitfinex in announcing banking issues, the developments have sparked some fears of wider crackdowns on exchanges.

BTC-e representatives told CoinDesk its issue had to do with a third-party payment service, Mayzus, one it reported happens multiple times a year.

As such, it's possible the uptick in issues is merely reflective of the tough environment bitcoin businesses have always faced when seeking to secure banking partnerships.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Ouch. Looks like governments are using banks as a tool to throttle bitcoin exchanges.
Anything overtly done by them can be challenged in courts, so they are using the bank route.

you just noticed? chinese exchanges first,bitfinex,btc-e?
there is no need to ban bitcoins, just apply some pressure on the banks that deal with exchanges
introduce some covert rules and regulations, manipulate the requirements etc.
remove the banks from the bitcoin-fiat chain while there is no adoption
make it semi-legal,then drop some "revelations" about recent terrosist attacks "sponsored" through bitcoins
doesn't sound good, although could be a false alarm too

Pretty sure BTC-E are still processing withdrawals.  However, they have been very slow at times.  They're just not accepting fiat deposits, which is not nearly as extreme as blocking deposits because people can still trade Bitcoin and fiat properly.  That's why there hasn't been as much coverage as Bitfinex, who also have had more issues recently that could cause problems (like the hack and how weird this BFX token thing is).  I just remember seeing that information on the forum, I haven't actually found any articles about it.

BTC-E processing wihdrawals allright, they have more than 10 different withdrawal methods
yes, bank withdrawals could amount up to 50% total fiat withdrawals
but one can always choose a different method, like e-money
also afaik, they never announced that they stop withdrawals or experience problems, just delays, maybe

Rumoring around "gooooverments!!" does not take us anywhere. Stop these reflexes! They are still processing.
The current troubles of Bitfinex seem to be their own faults, tamping one hole by using a newly fresh hole created by themselfes. Refunding all Bitfinex tokens sounded nice at first but people raised concernes from where all this fresh money originated. Now we know.
