These claims are extraordinary. Cotton is not going anywhere but what can happen is that all synthetic fibers drawn from petrochemical feed stocks can actually be eliminated or essentially minimized at least. I certainly want to see nylon remain on the market for many applications but other fibers whose characteristics can be easily be matched need to be forced into paying a recycling charge as we do aluminum cans.
The mere fact that we have a massive reservoir of plastic chips now in the ocean informs us that we must do better. Hemp provided the natural sustainable Royal Road away from petro based plastics.
Thus our worst source of pollution is really solvable while supporting excellent organic agriculture.
