Hey all,

I have been busting my balls since the first group buy to try and get this community stocked up with the gear they want (we all want more... lets face it)

to everyone who ordered quads and cubes...congratulations... I hope you get them soon and ROI ASAP.

to everyone else who had BTC and wanted to pay, however missed out.....I apologize......I am in the same boat.

I could not even place an order myself for any quads because of how shit their customer service is (BITTAWM DIDNT EVEN GET 1 QUAD)

These rats didn't even have the decency to respond to me after months of working together, only got an email to say "sorry out of stock" even though I have been on their case EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR MONTHS.

pretty fucking sickly really. I am locking all other threads and will be looking forward with working with new partners.

TOP TOP TOP TOP PROUCTS - A+++++++++
SHIT SHIT SHIT SERVICE: - F

at least they are delivering on product (so far) but I find it extremely unprofessional how they have been operating.

I would have loved to facilitate a quad group buy here but we all got forgotten about it seems

post your experiences with baikal:

My experience:

19.04: First time I sent Baikal an e-mail. My account hadn't been activated, so I asked him on e-mail to order a Cube miner.
20.04: He told me I could order 1 Cube. I bought one.
21.04: It was shipped.
24.04: It was at my doorstep, have been mining ever since.

25.04: I saw the ad for Quad Cube on Baikal Lee facebook page. 22 min after the ad had been posted, I contacted him again and ordered 1 Quad Cube. I bought one.
xx.05: To be continued..  Tongue

Currently on my phone so it'll be a bit short.

Long story short they say out of stock then they say in stock then I say great id like to buy they say contact our Skype, one baikal Skype attempts to scam thousands of dollars from multiple users. Baikal does nothing to combat this.

Baikal says contact our skype for order, skype baikal says contact baikal@baikalminer.com to finalize.

I go through this ridiculous loop to order these miners and then, mind you this is the third time this has happened.

They say they're sold out no idea when new stock will be here.

What the fucking fuck, wasted hours of my time. It's a shame because they seem to have an awesome miner, seems like I'll never know.

absolutely crazy they would not let me facilitate this for a SUPER SMOOTH TRANSACTION, I offered to pay them more if they could get a constant supply and regular communication but still nothing.....

E-mailed them multiple times, spoke on skype they guaranteed me i would get one and i got NADA !
I'm with you bittawm, lets join forces and look for a good company that we can do business with.

Thanks.

I believe these devices are actually FPGAs.  You wouldn't be able to go back and add multiple new alogs via firmware if they are actually ASIC chips.  Correct me if I'm wrong, people.

I believe you are correct TracerX.  This isn't your typical "ASIC" miner so you can't just grab bitfury or A4 chips and get the job done.

I believe they don't get shipments of 500 though, that's your assumption. I believe they get blocks of 100 and dont want it all going to 1 buyer. Also from a business point of view their stock moves at RRP just fine. Where is the advantage of selling all their stock to one person who could be a single miner at a reduced price?

Their name is out there now and I said in the group buy thread that no group buy would happen. They sell out in hours, they dont need help moving their stock.

this time there wasn't a limit on quantity ?? seems like the sold to few people.

I didnt offer to buy them all for me I offered to buy them all for the community and send them a spreadsheet with order details shipped direct. I offered to OVER PAY (not under pay) just to get a constant supply for us.

it would have been way smoother. just a bit of transparency is all we are after.

....and here I thought it was only me they wouldn't take money from when I wanted to order. Several emails and hours of work resulted in me getting 5 minis between Sept and March. Guess I won't be whining under my breath anymore. I should count myself lucky.

Personally I think they are all overpriced on there but I believe it is relatively safe to purchase there.  They use an escrow system so you release the funds to the seller after you are satisfied with the item.  I have never personally had to dispute a purchase on aliexpress but I have seen people post around here who did and they did get their money back when they asked for it.

I purchase items on Aliexpress frequently. Your experience depends on the seller. But since Aliexpress forces every sale into an escrow system I have always received a refund when I had a problem. The seller doesn't get paid until you confirm receipt of the item or the delivery time windows has expired (usually a long time). After receiving it Aliexpress will notify you to confirm receipt or you have seven days to file a dispute for DOA, not as described, etc. I often find just messaging the seller gets a refund when I have an issue as they don't like disputes filed with Aliexpress (I think too many and they cannot sell any more). For the most part on Aliexpress I get what I paid for at a really good price. Just don't buy from jokers with the ridiculous prices.

Guys you should be AWARE:

After weeks of trying I got a reply from baikal about a Quad.
They asked me the details about my order.I gave them all the details and they sent me the amount to pay.
Shipping+Quad 3343 USD.Since I wanted to pay in BTC they sent me that amount also: 2.906 BTC.

Now I know very well that there are differences between the exchanges but almost 600$ difference.........something is very fishy.
I sent them a reply stating this issue and what do you think? Of course no more reply.

BE AWARE!!!!!!

I just sent my wire transfer today, it's night there so I haven't contacted them to see if they received it or not. Bank said it could take up to 10 days to clear and be available funds in their account.
Hope to get a shipping date once they have the funds...

Let's see been trying to get something for weeks.  Website took forever to register and it is a piece of crud.

Told to email for preorder, which I did and provided exact required details.  Get a response and told to order over Skype, sent the specs over there referencing the email and never received a response.  Other members tried to order via Skype and told to contact through email.  Spooked me out a bit (especially with all the other people experiencing odd things).  Next thing you know, Twitter says they closed presale, so I guess it was legit.  I Twittered them to ask what happened considering we were going back and forth for days.

Then last night I receive a weird Skype message in perfect English from them that stated, "Sorry don't want to be a bother but I believe it is Friday morning over there right now and wanted to catch you just in case you happen to find stock and if you did, we could do what needs to be done before the weekend."

They have a Twitter? This is the strangest business I've tried to deal with, seems multiple people trying to learn business communication at once.

Do you want to respond to all of these things or is all ok???
What are your plans about a correct system to place order in the future or you think that the system that you use now is perfect?
All forum want answers... and  i think that the minimum is that you place an answer ..... a complete answer........

Quick question bittawm, what nationality are you? I got a feeling not Chinese, or else, you would of secured a deal easily. Not to sound racist, but it's like when every time I go eat Dim Sum, they usually cater to the ones that speaks Chinese... lol. (Don't worry, I'm Asian... lol)

Hi, I also want buy a Baikal miner Quad-CUBE "Hash Rate:1200MH/s(±10%)" in a group.

My experiences with baikal were also not the best in the past!
In january I wants buy 10 baikal mini, but I don't get response my e-Mails, so I think that they don't want my BTCs.

So I hope to get my order faster and better by a group-buy here in the bitcointalk commuinity.

@bittawm: can you please create a list of all people here, who wants buy and which amount?

I see that baikal products are available on alibaba, so maybe order it there?:

Best regards to all!

This last move by Baikal is totally strange.
1st they never did a pre-order for ANY of their products, second the way of ordering thru e-mail was also never used before.
I think they just wanted to dump all these machines now before the new ibelink comes to the playground, because after the new ibelink their machines won't be worth what they are charging for them today.

Has anyone got a shippment date for the Quads? I think they dump all this pre-order ot make sure they get sold before ibelink, that's my 2c.
I think they don't even have them ready.

I've made three separate orders from baikal through their Skype account over the last six months and have had no issues with them.  When they had inventory to sell, they were prompt and shipped within 24 hours.  When they were out of stock, they stated as such.

They make a stellar product that is in extreme demand, and as expected are probably sold out again.  They probably had offers from plenty of people wanting their entire inventory, people with a lot deeper pockets than most of us.  The fact that they shipped to even a few in the community here is nice to see.  They didn't have to really.  I can understand people being frustrated when they sell out, but there really is nothing that can be done, so why spend energy on it?  They could continue to sell out their inventories without anyone here buying a single one, so why should they care?  In fact, they probably do care, but really, who has time to coddle a bunch of people when they have money to make?

Why would they care? Because one day they will not be the king of the block, competitors will rise. Just because they sell out does not mean they should not work on their customer service or business communication.

It looks like they will be out of business soon, and quite honestly I'm looking forward to it what a nightmare it was trying for weeks to order with them, to no avail.

That post has nothing to do with Baikal so I'm not sure what you are referring to.

I've yet to see any evidence that they have done anything to screw anyone over.  They are out of stock and stated as much.  As far as I know, they have never taken money and not delivered.  When they had stock and received money, they have shipped reliably and quickly.  And they have been more open than they have to be to when asked about inventory and upcoming products.  The only issue I have really seen is with people claiming to be in negotiations with them, and then most people simply buying directly from Baikal instead.  Then the negotiator is upset that they weren't able to get anything.  Show me an instance where Baikal promised an allotment to someone, then failed to deliver on that.  I haven't see it.

Every time I saw a so called group buy posted here, I simply went to Baikal and made the purchase directly without any issue, when the inventory was available.  If a so called group buy is organized by a third party without any contractual agreements with the vendor, then the group buy really didn't exist in the first place and the vendor has no obligation to set anything aside for them.  Especially when they have enough orders to clear inventory without it.

Seems like a lot of smoke and no actual fire.

I have sent over 20 emails, 40+ skype messages, fumbled through their website, had a fake baikal account try to scam me, been promised units on multiple occasions, given payment addresses and pursued order confirmation and validity only to be told they're unavailable if I even receive a response. I'm not being dramatic, I consider my dealings with them a nightmare.

Are you saying you paid them and they didn't send the units?  Did they refund?  This would actually be concerning; unless you never actually paid them, which would then make sense that you never got anything from them.

I never paid them, or the scammer, as I wanted at a minimum email verification from their known email baikal@baikalminer.com. I was waiting on that to send payment of a skype order request

They actually responsed quite quickly.

Code:
Hi,

Thank you very much for your support on baikal.

Sorry to tell you that this batch of cube and quad-cube miners were sold out again, and we have no idea when the next batch will arrive now.

Please wait patiently and we will share you with the news about the new stock as soon as we can.

Best regards,

Yep, that's exactly what I got about 30 seconds ago via skype.  They did also direct me to e-mail as the way to settle order now, instead of skype as I have done before.  So, we wait for the next batch.

Not sure how it works, but if they have 100 units, and all 100 are sold, and you sent payment at 101 units, that 1 unit isn't coming straight out of the air, most likely if they are already all sold out, hopefully they give you a refund. That's the thing about wire transfers, hard to reverse it unless they initiate it.

They did say this previously:

"Now, pre-order of Cube and quad-cube is OVER now. Quotations that unable to pay before 10:00pm April(GMT+8) is VALID, please do not continue the payment if you have't complete the order now yet. Thank you for your kind understanding."

I got the payment address the evening before, but the gmt+8 made the deadline happen in the middle of the night before payment was sent in the AM. So, only a few hours to send payment and the banks were closed till the next day, so payment was late.

So, has anyone that did wire transfer got payment confirmation yet from Baikal?

I did my wire transfer online and provided receipts of the wire and confirmation of the wire that was made on 4-28-2016.

My bank tells me that the wire I did is same day international wire transfer and the transfer status is complete. Since the wire was done with SWIFT code, my bank tells me that they should receive the funds within 1-2 days.

I keep asking Baikal for confirmation/updates, but Baikal keeps saying "We will let you know once we get the payment" or "Please send us your bank slip for our confirmation".

I keep providing the confirmation to them, but it gets nowhere. I know they are receiving my attachments, because they are responding to that email saying, "We will let you know once we get the payment".

The frustration of the process continues...

Also, for people that have experience with international wire transfers, how long does it usually take for the recipient to receive funds into their bank with SWIFT code? I heard it's just usually 1 day?

It depends on whether the bank the wire is going to is a major bank or a smaller banks. SWIFT wires can go through a number of banks (each one taking some money) before it gets to the destination bank. If a larger bank and they have a corresponding account with the sending bank it will usually take one day (sometimes two) for the credit to appear in the recipient's account. Smaller banks (without an account with the sending bank) go through the larger banks to get paid. This can take an extra day or two. At max three days, usually one or two days. Also, remember there are time differences that can affect delivery speed.

I had one lost for 30 days to knc in 2013. KNC said dollars only. The bank said it would send dollars, but they had a bot that auto converted to local currency if they could make
a couple bucks. Thus the transaction was stuck. Bank said it was sent in $$$ (not knowing about their own bot) KNC said they did not get it (due to their bot stopping it for
not being usd) . Anyway was a complete cluster. Use a commercial bank that is used to doing wire xfers is my advice. Stuff like this happens with a regular bank all the time I hear.
Just for the fact wire transfer 'supposedly' is rare on non commercial regular banks it seems. (or so I was told)

Anyway, something to ask your bank if they converted it to a local currency .and because of such you are a few bucks short in the conversion Smiley

Anyway....something you can ask I guess ..just in case

That sucks. I get wires in Thailand denominated in US dollars and the Thai bank just converts it to Thai baht at that hour's rate, deducts a fee, and deposits the rest into my account. I did have an issue once with a Chinese company I was doing business with. They told me to send X amount of dollars (over $20,000) and I sent the exact amount. Of course, they received it minus the SWIFT fees (that is normal). They wanted me to send them another $17 to cover the fees. I told them my bank would charge me more than that amount to send the wire (would have cost me over double) so I was not going to do that. Told them you know wires haves receiving fees and if you wanted me to pay it you should have added it to the total you asked me to send. I was persistent. In the end, they gave up and shipped the goods. This was many years ago but doing business with companies in China is often a challenge.

Thanks for the info, I double checked my online bank, and it says "Funds will be sent in U.S. dollars. If the recipient's account is not in U.S. dollars, the funds will be converted to local currency at an exchange rate applied by the recipient's bank."

Guess i'll keep following up.

You are 100 percent right. I have seen 2 to 3 group buys and they are mess and too shady.

I heard it's just usually 1 day?

no not yet, they keep asking the payer name. i sent using same day transfer and alredy sent payment wire slip but they said not receving it. If baikal doing funny thing, i will go to singapore and report to the police...

Well, after many communication attempts, finally got an email saying they confirm my bank wire and should be shipping out my quad cube next week. Guess this horror story has a happy ending after all.

I was quoted $3200~ USD or 3.09 bitcoins. At the time, $3200USD was closer to 2.6BTC.
I sent it in BTC because I didnt want to trust fucking around with wire transfers. I wanted a clear, quick and transperant blockchain trail showing I paid and when.
I paid a big premium for it though. Can understand why others might not have wanted to choke down that extra 0.5btc cost.

I was in the unlucky situation where the wire transfer happend on Saturday, a day too-late, after the deadline.
Fortunately for me, I was able to get the bank to cancel the transfer as it had not yet gone through.

I only lost the $60 processing fee. The issue I had was that Baikal didn't tell me about the deadline until after I started the transfer, and at that time it was already too late.
So, im bummed, but will have to wait and try again later.

Same, they ask for a copy of my passport. Like why would they need a copy of my passport when they have received my funds already? It was pretty fishy. So I just gave them my driver's license with all personal information crossed out except my name and address.

I have one theory in the reasoning behind this, maybe to prevent people from multiple orders or duplicate orders under the same person.

If you are in the U.S. they have to verify you are who you say you are. Also DHL will call often call requesting social security number for large dollar foreign deliveries before they can get a customs release as it is reported to the Federal Government if over a certain value.

I have always had replies from baikal via email and Skype fairly promptly

I emailed them within about 5 minutes of their batch 2.0 release and had an email back within about half an hour with payment details
I then forwarded btc to the address and followed up with an email confirming my delivery address as well as a print screen showing 2+ blockchain confirmations

They dispatched yesterday and are due to arrive Tuesday

Boom

I don't know why I don't know how but I have had no issues with baikal nor communication with them at all

Just my two satoshis

Can confirm that my quad miner has shipped with an estimated delivery date of Tuesday next week.

I had moderate difficulty dealing with them. Was constantly on them on skype and email, always prodding. Luckily for me, I live in the same timezone as Shenzen which I think helped. Paid with BTC not bank wire as well.

Relax, I doubt you're getting scammed while other people are starting to get their tracking numbers.
Yes, its not the best company and they are uncommunicative. Try to relax and you'll get it soon I'm sure.

Probably a very small company and they did not expect to get as many orders as they have.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are behind on orders, or unable to get the parts as quickly as they need.

For the people that got them, how is it working out for you?
What coin are you mining? What is your expected ROI?

I got 2 cubes in the 1st batch. Based on my wallet I have made 3 dash but i had issues and had to reboot miners a few times. Took a week after I received my 1st to get my 2nd cube so i have been mining properly full time about 2.5 weeks. Happy with my return so far. Averaging about 1 coin a week, mining on my own P2Pool node to ensure no fees for myself.

It will take an additional 23 weeks before I get all my dash back at this rate but I do not care as they use such little power and I mined my dash back in 2015 when it was easier

One of my baikals is a little buggy. It has locked up twice in 3 weeks. If it happens again I will be reflashing the OS onto both SD cards to resolve the issue. Will run these until they make nothnig I guess. I just hope I get ROI before iBelinks products come out.

I just hope I get ROI before iBelinks products come out.
i thought it was more profitable to mine via multipools that accept diffrent algos

Everytime I check a multipool that handles X11 they are mining dash so I might as well mine dash on my own node.

I just wish the baikal could switch it's algo if pointed to a multipool.

Probably a very small company and they did not expect to get as many orders as they have.
I wouldn't be surprised if they are behind on orders, or unable to get the parts as quickly as they need.

For the people that got them, how is it working out for you?
What coin are you mining? What is your expected ROI?

Your best bet is to hold your dash u mined, when dash evolution comes out later this year and ibelink s difficulty increase hopefully the price of dash will climb, and youd profit from that , reducing your ROI, i assume u paid 1100$ for each of your cubes?

When I first got my cube, I tested 7 days on each pool, I got .007 dash daily on the multiple pool and .082 on coinme. I guess maybe the exchange fees has something to do with it, I enabled auto exchange to "dash".

No, I paid around $870 I think it worked out. I bought from Baikal direct and they charged around the $75 for shipping.

Cost me at the time 28.5 dash for both but at the time dash had dropped to under $70, cant remember the exact exchange but Baikal charged me .74BTC each nad I think BTC was around $1200 at that time in early\mid April

I agree with the top comment...I early on said Baikal would have no interest in group buys anymore with new recent jump in altcoin prices.. Bittawns first group buys worked because they were sitting on stock they needed to move, props to Bitawnm for that...ok maybe their communication is shit but guess what? I've managed to get a mini, a cube and a quad cube. And it wasn't by constantly emailing and skyping them every single day. All I did was monitor their site 3-4 times a day and when stock came up I jumped on it. It's pretty clear this is how they want to sell their products.

Plug the numbers into a mining calculator. The amount of money you can make if you buy these things is ridiculous.

Since you have more then 1, can you test it side by side against https://www.zpool.ca/ since they support all 6 algos? miningpoolhub only supports 5 algos. I am using zpool.ca with this as the password:

c=BTC,quark=0.5,qubit=0.5,x11=0.5,x13=0.5,x14=0.5,x15=0.5

It will auto-profit the best algo with that password, and with zpool, I actually see it mine x14 sometimes but miningpoolhub don't support x14.

So I am curious will miningpoolhub still be better when it don't support x14.

If. There's people sitting at their computers 24/7 waiting to buy these and they typically sell out in about five minutes in my experience. Otherwise you can purchase insanely gouged miners from forum members.

I wasn't paying too close attention, but apparently with this last batch they were in stock until recently, for a couple of weeks. I don't know why they didn't sell out instantly because you can make so much money with them, but I will be watching closely for the next batch as I may soon have the funds to purchase a couple of the quad cubes.

They weren't. They still had the buy button up but it didn't work; I tried about six minutes after the batch released and they were sold out. I am also looking at the quads, unfortunately these days it's either Bitmain or sitting at your desk waiting to snipe profitable miners :/

I have two, they make 8-9 dollars a day, I wouldn't call that ridiculous lol

If anyone's curious I go over the cubes in this video and showcase my early results, I've been mining on prohashing because this is a simple way for me to amass doge & dash at the same time

I have two, they make 8-9 dollars a day, I wouldn't call that ridiculous lol

If anyone's curious I go over the cubes in this video and showcase my early results, I've been mining on prohashing because this is a simple way for me to amass doge & dash at the same time
https://youtu.be/47a4CDeFjqQ

What you mining? I'm mining on Nicehash utilising the multi algo capabilities and get between $13 and $17 a day

Can't wait until they're in stock again and I can get my hands on some, the ROI is amazing on them.

yeah I got them connected they are great getting good returns on miningooolhub
use very low power and run cool eveb in my hot house
both mine at 310 to 315 on any algo

do you mind specifying what good returns are? thanks Cheesy

What's the payout in ? Btc or dash?

Try prohashing it's not bad and I love the flexibility

Well that's just one miner, but the ROI is still good at ~100 days. If you were to invest $10,000 in these you'd net $2500 a month, which is ridiculous for that little amount of money and time invested.

Yeah ROI will only go down on these the key is the use barely NO power , i could run 100 of these an pay only 1k a month in power thats insane

I was going to sell another one but I love the units so much Im keeping them and buying a couple of quads when the have stock next

could u tell me how many chips are in the baikal cube, it should be in the net interface

Nine chips.

do you know which chips they are? ...

im curious as to what fpga / asic chips they use ...

any one pulled a miner apart to see? ...

only reason im asking is because of the cooling system - and the heat watt dissipation ... knowing the make and model of the chips can give us all the specs we need ... working on a better cooling system - and require all this info we cant seem to find anywhere ... not even in the reviews ...

If they are asics, then you won't find a make and model.  they are custom made.  But if they are by chance FPGA then there will be something out there.

We don't know anything about them and no one has dissected one yet.

My first theory is that they are fpga.   My second theory is that they are asics that some hardware student designed in grad school in china and was able to get them on a tape out of a research wafer.   When i was in grad school for hardware/circuit design, we were allowed to piggy back on unused wafer space for IBM and TSMC.  It was something that was free for universities. for research only.

Could anyone please direct me to a guide for allowing remote access to my baikal quad over the internet? I'm going away for 3 months in June for work and there is no way my girlfriend is going to be able to do anything for troubleshooting but hard power cycle it

Also, when I want to manually change pools, I have to change the pool priority on the http setup page, and then execute a hard power restart for it to change pools. Is this for anyone else?

You can download Teamviewer and remotely access it, that's what i'm doing right now too.

I don't have to do a hard restart to change pools.

I don't have to do a hard restart to change pools.

Is that the best setup for a mining farm? How can I setup email / text notifications if one or multiple go offline?

tick on the "monitor" when you're accessing your workers management tab from your pools like minigpoolhub, coinmine and etc..

I setup a PI with VPN access to my netowrk. Then I can login there and do anything I want locally on my network.

Only buy asics that you can recieve at your doorstep straight off are worth it else cancel it. I have been in the asic boat twice and both ended badly. 1 x cloud and 1 x machine bfl labs you know it. X3 got canceled.

Also those companys mine themselves to or even use them temporary for them selfs before selling them to you. I have seen this happen way to much times. If you want to buy asic buy that ships straight away.

Last tip: If you can recieve them invest bigger so buy like 4-6+ machines and resell just before end will make you the most money.

So far, the trick seems to find the miners in the first place.
Been trying for months, but no luck yet. Almost had one bought about a month ago, but missed the payment deadline by 1 day.
Had to eat the wire transfer fee ($60).

I do the same, and have remote switchable power switches to boot.  It's pretty simple to utilize a VPN, most modern consumer ISP routers include that functionality out of the box.

LOL. You could always buy them at a 200% markup on aliexpress Smiley

Whats funny is that even when buying them at twice their retail value, they pull in about the same ROI as Bitmain Antminers, haha

For that 100% more on aliexpress I rather buy a plane ticket to China and do the hitting plan.Or maybe you are right, I should buy 1-2 Antminers and then go to China and hit the guys from baikal with the Antminers in the head because they are much more heavy than Quads.Good plan....
At least more fun for me.

could u tell me how many chips are in the baikal cube, it should be in the net interface

Nine chips.

do you know which chips they are? ...

im curious as to what fpga / asic chips they use ...

any one pulled a miner apart to see? ...

only reason im asking is because of the cooling system - and the heat watt dissipation ... knowing the make and model of the chips can give us all the specs we need ... working on a better cooling system - and require all this info we cant seem to find anywhere ... not even in the reviews ...

#crysx

If they are asics, then you won't find a make and model.  they are custom made.  But if they are by chance FPGA then there will be something out there.

We don't know anything about them and no one has dissected one yet.

My first theory is that they are fpga.   My second theory is that they are asics that some hardware student designed in grad school in china and was able to get them on a tape out of a research wafer.   When i was in grad school for hardware/circuit design, we were allowed to piggy back on unused wafer space for IBM and TSMC.  It was something that was free for universities. for research only.

I believe the only way they could come back after release and add additional algos is if they are FPGAs.  I'm no EE, but that's the only thing that makes sense.  I was able to take my original X11 only mini and upgrade it to the additional algos they all now ship with.  FPGA.

Hello guys,
I wrote them a mail to ask when the next batch is coming. Here's their reply:
Quote
Hi,

Thank you for your email.

Regards the new stock, please check our website for your information, we will make our announcement there.

Best regards,
Baikal

I guess there are only two chances, either way you wait for the next batch and checkout their website everyday or you buy a miner over eBay for the triple of the original price.

Greetings,
Lumining

I have every type of Baikal Miner all of them have CE marking. I even close up image of my Cube here with CE marking. I don't know why these kind of misinformation pop up every now and then.
here

CE markings are clearly visible.

I missed the last 3 iterations due to checking AFTER they were sold out.
They sell out in minutes, not hours.
Once they are up, you better get in there fast.

The last one I bougut directly from Baikal was in Jan.

you sure you have the correct baikal? lots of scams....7 baikal's on skype only one is legit for an example

the fact you are getting a reply also maybe means it is a scam..they have not been talking to any of us  ..despite repeated emails Smiley

just saying, sounds fishy as hell

er also, when I send a bank xfer my banker says 'are you sure of the folk that are getting it, once its sent it is gone!" so no protection on wire xfer

We get no reply to emails ..which is normal...they say out of stock on skype..if they reply....

they will simply post on the web site when they have some. (no they don't do that either) ...the sales part
suddenly works with no announcement......you really find out if they are selling by someone being lucky..trying it
and succeeding and telling us here on this thread)...and it is then catch all catch can

weird way to sell stuff..but seems the norm for baikal

oh and then even if you get an order in ..they can lose it (happened to mine last run....oops they said) Sad

its like an asic lottery run by the three stooges ...as far as ordering something goes Smiley

I just emailed them to place an order, ill let you know what they tell me. If theres any talk around here still about a group buy sign me up.

They will tell you:

out of stock, no idea when the new batch will be available  Wink

That's the standard.

Thats correct, no need to email/skype them all the time. Once they are available it says so on their site...just check 3-4 times a day. Thats how I got all mine.

you checked on their website and then what? how to order?

China is 12 hours ahead. So luckily I'm a night owl. So when I see them available on their website at 3am i then immediately get in touch through skype.

When was the last time there were any available?

It varies usao. And this was the case with the old type miners.
With this new type - the cube - it might be a totally new kind of sci-fi in baikal's way of organising the production / sales.

#1 how to explain Facebook disappearing, website cloning, and weird sky shit... greed or finance issues...

why.. they probably were a few to join to dev the Baikal

they got the first batch of cash in ... they argued.. one left the gang, hijacked domain name..

then he tried to leverage others to get his share, didnt.. so he redirected email and cloned a backup version of website, hence the disparities of the site when it came up..

the others complained at facebook and they only got the account closed as a result..

result is .. who to trust in this ? it seems as they are split up in 2 gangs, one with public facing site, and one with skype access.. none have stock,

the guy that left with website and emails is surely to scam all of you to get is capital back from the baikal ventures, and the skype crew probably will drop this and rename the baikal and come back on another name.

not only is comms really really shitty but the whole product is flaky at best, i got a 150 and rma'd on the spot, looking at the code base i understand why.

so i guess we need to move along, or raize 500,000k to 1 mill and build our own miners..

I guess I am a little confused.  The web site seems to be working.  FB page is still there.  The info still appears to be correct on the web page.  So I am not sure why the uncertainty about Baikal.  The problems that have popped up have been due to scammers that setup "similar" sites, email addresses, and skype handles.  The same is true for Bitmain there are scammers all over the place.  So just double/triple check your URL, email, or skype handle you are trying to communicate with.  The fact that we don't get responses from Baikal other than to be redirected to the FB page is just a lack of communication on Baikal's part.

If you have an outstanding order with Baikal that they have not shipped then keep pinging them until they respond.  So far they appear to resolve any unfinished business if you can finally reach a person there.

The only real question I have at the moment is in regards to Baikal's plans to release more miners.  And do they have any plans to counter the iBelink miner that is rumored to be coming.  Those are the things I would like to know.  Baikal may be slow to respond and not able to handle the demand for their miners, but I have yet to see them do anything to scam this community.

I have Baikal Miner @baikalmining on FB.  There is a second one listed, but it is clear it is a scam they are selling product and redirecting you to another site that has been reported here as a scam site.  So if you see product listed for sale on the FB page you are on the WRONG FB page.

Well I do have the original skype from the times the company has just started. And they said that their facebook page was the one called baikal lee.
After that dissapeared they said their fb is under construction and rearrangement so i would be carefull if I were you to whom you are talking to.

always always ALWAYS ...

always put down the EXACT url of the profile you are referring to ...

placing the name @baikalmining for a search is useless ...

this is the issue with almost EVERYONE here that quotes pages and websites and skype profiles ...

so please guys and gals - ALWAYS put here the EXACT addresses and profile id ... that way - NO ONE gets confused ...

tanx ...

I would really like to get into this market; but until there is another manufacturer, I do not believe that there is a feasible way to expand this arena.

You need to check on their website every now and then and when you see its available, don't delay and straight make the purchase. That's what I did and so far owned a few cubes and eyeing for more.

i think baikal might have shut up shop for now
potentially so they can work on the next generation of X11 miners

unless anyone has any secret news or leaked info of a batch 3.0 cube release?

(i had two cubes in my cart on batch 1.0, couldnt get BTC in time, then had delayed notification of batch 1.5 release so didnt get any then, and finally got some ordered at batch 2.0 release)

They haven't "shut up shop" more than they do every time they release a new batch. It will take some time for the next generation/batch to come out, but with all of the money they make by mining with them then selling them and being sold out within 24 hours, there's no way they will stop producing them now.

er nope..an they likely will NOT be an annoucement...or there never has been on their web site before a sale I've ever seen....they just put them up for sale....like a crypto machine 'snipe hunt' ..catch all catch can....

fun folk....they like to just toss them out there on an unworkable web site and even if you are told all is well on your order

the chances are 50/50 you will get it. They also like to say on one auction you had 2 hrs to pay from their email...that was fun being

in USA an all and asleep at 3am.....poof and its gone

So anyway out of 3 tries to get equip when offered....was told I had equip all 3 times....only got it 1 time..the rest I got follow up
message they were mistaken or the good old 3am window was missed

fun times, baikal has a unique way of selling stuff......

I've got something like this setup so when their quad cube goes back in stock even at 3 am I can spring into action to purchase lol. I Just hope they don't create a new webpage for when a new batch is released, and they just update the old one to say it's in stock. Do you know for sure what they do?

Hi, are there any news from BAIKAL on the launch of new batch of CUBE / Giant or new miners?

Ceers W_M

er nope..an they likely will NOT be an annoucement...or there never has been on their web site before a sale I've ever seen....they just put them up for sale....like a crypto machine 'snipe hunt' ..catch all catch can....

fun folk....they like to just toss them out there on an unworkable web site and even if you are told all is well on your order

the chances are 50/50 you will get it.

They have updated their website frequently, almost as often as they release batches.

If they don't release another batch in the next month or two I'm just going to buy Antminers and eat the potential profits because I don't want to wait much longer lol. It's going to suck because going with Antminers means more electricity, paying for rent for a warehouse, and less profits, but if Baikal doesn't release another batch by the end of summer, I'm not waiting around. Either way I'll be making a lot by mining. Either that or I'll probably go with the Antminer Litecoin machines which are twice as profitable as even Baikals.

Didn't someone come out with a much more powerful x11 miner?

Either way buying and reselling these is as profitable as mining since you can flip for instant double your money, at least when they were in stock  Undecided

You could get Antminers and then if/when a new bactch is released send the Antminers to Giga Watt for hosting, it's cheap and if the Antminers ever break they have on site repair no sending back to China, actually better to mine Bitmain asics with Giga Watt than to host them at home, not to mention the noise factor  Shocked

Look up the newest batch of Bitmain Antminer L3's. They're more than twice as profitable as Baikals. Sure it only mines Litecoin, but look at how stable Litecoin has been the past year. Who cares if they consume 800w per, I'll have power installed in a warehouse and rent it out for the amount of profits I'll be bringing in with those things. They have a ~40-50 day ROI. Hope they don't run out of stock soon I need to buy them.

While that's true, I don't think it's a problem given how stable LTC has been.

You're likely not wrong.  I'm going to hold off on buying anything from BITMAIN until the crazy UASF shakes out.  It's the wild west, for sure.

Probably not a bad idea, I just don't see the possibility of bitcoin tanking from it to the point that it wouldn't be profitable to mine - or profitable to mine and hold on to the coins believing it will rebound. If you are mining at the moment however, what hardware do you own if not Bitmain?

Guys I just got some inside very trusted info regarding the Baikal situation.

It seems that they have no more chips for their miners at the moment and it is unknown if / when they can get some more.

I hope you are right.  I am not so optimistic however.  I would prefer the Baikal over the iBelink any day of the week at this point from the info we have been told about the iBelink.  Lets hope they are working on it.

There may be a redesign with a new chip as well.

To compete with ibelink new X11 miner, if BAIKAL can produce a miner with 50%-75% hashing power and with right price (IMHO they have a Better chance to do that) than it will be no brainer to prefer them over ibelink miners as they can mine 6 algos( number of algos may increase also). I know I am an optimistic fan boy of BAIKAL.

The iBelink is slated to start shipping the end of July.  But as with all new miners they rarely if ever make the date.  So you are likely looking at August/September time frame.  And it is quite possible early batches may have their share of firmware and hardware issues as they will push hard to get these out as quickly as they can.  If they deliver what they have stated so far it will be dramatically more efficient than the current Baikal miner.

So Baikal will have to update their existing miner if they hope to remain competitive.

Will the iBelink only run X11?  Even if it's more efficient (and the wattage on the Baikal is amazing) I would still want the multi-alog devices from Baikal.

So Baikal will have to update their existing miner if they hope to remain competitive.

Will the iBelink only run X11?  Even if it's more efficient (and the wattage on the Baikal is amazing) I would still want the multi-alog devices from Baikal.

That is what we have heard so far is that it is an X11 miner.  Nothing about other algo support.

even if it runs only X11, the same old adage applies. Never put all your eggs into 1 basket.

The much MUCH bigger problem with all miners isnt that they can mine only 1 thing. The major issue is you can't find them anywhere to buy. That should be your primary concern. (or relief if you already own a farm)

Diversification is important, I agree.  Is there more information on the iBelink device?

I heard that Daulminer will we releasing some info over the coming weeks about the iBelink.  You might do well to NOT plunk down your money here on this forum with certain "group buy" activities until we hear what the company has to say and we get an idea of pricing and availability.

The Dualminer has never been known for offering attractive price to performance in the past so I am not overly optimistic that it is going to be some fantastic price point, but since we see seriously high prices here on this forum for these units it cannot hurt to see what the company will be selling them for before sinking $9k or more into one here.

Small company that just can't meet the demand.  I am surprised Bitmain doesn't buy them out and hire their engineers because they clearly have the most advanced product in this space.  I hope that doesn't happen for a lot of reasons, but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

If X11 returns drop I am sure Baikal will suddenly have stock to sell.

Of course if they do I think they would discover less enthusiasm overall

Unfortunately no news.  Probably best to follow them on Facebook and to periodically hit their web page if you want updates.  I don't get the impression they are really out here on the forum much and it is hard to reach them via email or Skype.  That is probably the best shot you have to know what is going on.

We just heard that they are talking about a 2gh miner, but an insane price tag of 7k on it.  Sadly if this is true I think Baikal will have to go back to just mining their own gear.  With iBelink 11g coming this 2gh unit at that price tag doesn't stand a chance.

This is bad news for Baikal if true.

Last word I heard about the iBelink is that they will be updating their web site with the new miner info, but no time frame, they just say watch their web site for more info.

Sadly brace yourself for sticker shock.  Baikal got into the shroons and are thinking they are going to sell 2gh miners for 7k each... I can only imagine what iBelink will be asking for these things.  At this point I am not holding my breath for either one at those price points.

At this point I would be very careful about spending any sizeable chunk on an x11 miner.  Baikal has a new miner, PinIdea has a new miner, and iBelink supposedly has a monster right around the corner.  There is almost no info on how many of each of these miners there are or how quickly new ones will be coming out.  Hashrate could go really high very soon.

I hope they offer the 300mh cubes too. I'd rather have 10 cubes at 3,000 mh and pay more than all my eggs in 1 basket with ONE unit, in case something goes bad.

I mean, what do they have a 90 day warranty. Just saying a 300mh cube blows you still have 90% of your equip yet to mine with.

Just a thought

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

If you look at the screenshot for the Baikal it is actually 2 miner boards controlled by one user interface. I think all they have done is add a 150mh(a Baikal mini) chip to an existing board giving them around 1050mh then thrown 2 of those boards into a case, hey presto here is 2000mh/s that will actually get closer to 2100

--------------------------
Phone:------------------

Bank info for receiving payment please find from attached file.

After you done the transfer, kindly provide me the payment voucher and your passport, if paid from company bank account, please provide the copy of your business license.

best regards.
Baikal miner

$7000/unit??? OMG... This is a joke

Haha with the new bitmain miner it will be 1 Star product 1 star service  Wink

Let's see... Baikal New Giant 2GH/s ($7000) vs. Bitmain D3 15GH/s ($2699) Roll Eyes

No wonder why the new giants never advertised their price online, their advertised prices shouldn't be 7k now, and ibelinks arent selling out.

I got my Giantplus yesterday! costly but still fell exciting Smiley i missed last cube purcahsed, and it is so many unpredictable thing in sepetmber, so I don't want to wait anymore. just ordered one.

Sepetmber X11 will be a rocket, don't expect earning by X11 at that time, I will now mining dash, then will go for quark or other profitable algorithms, profit good as well.

Important stuff is missing like PRICE and warranty

I don't see the price listed on Baikal's site for the Giant+.  Maybe they are embarrassed to post it now, as they should be.  2gh for 7k! LOL  There needs to be a dramatic, massive price reduction if they want to sell Giant+ miners.

you sure you have the right skype?

there are probaly 10 fake skype accounts to the one true baikal skype account

as to if it is just an invalid order

yeah that happened to me on 300 mh baikal cube orders...all was well on 3 emails and talking to skype for 3 days

then they said oops.they messed up and made the order invalid

of course I had not paid anything yet..but pissed me off in that I had 3 emails and 2 skype msgs copied ..that all was well as I added units

they just don't give a damn...and imho they are probably out of consumer sales...anything they make from now on they will keep and mine imho

When you can get your hands one some D3 miners, you can use these for X11. There's no other machine on the market that has the same price to hashrate ratio than the Antminer D3.
Unfortunately, it can only mine X11 and therefore, you're pretty limited.
On the other handside, you could buy a Baikalminer which support multiple algorithms. It supports X11, X13, X14, X15, Quark and Qubit, so you have a lot more choices where you can switch to in case the difficulty for one algorithm rises exponentially.
You can mine Quark and Qubit and receive about 5$ a day, or you can mine OnionCoin on X13. Someone reported that they mined 4 Onions in 24h and the coin was worth about 5$ some days ago.

I would only buy Antminer L3+ for mining scrypt, but only if you can get your hands on some cheap ones. I see many offers over 2000$ which are alittle unrealistic I think. Litecoin may rise a lot in the future, but a mining revenue of about 700$ per month is not enough to spend more than 2000$ I think.
Maybe it's worth waiting for the Antminer L4, but currently we can only dream about this one, it has not been released yet.

To answer your question in some short words: As long as your electricity is free, mine with everything you can get your hands on! Everything except old Pc's with one GPU Grin

Thank you for your help i have about 8000usd and i want to invest in mining i'm new to mining world i like the baikal Giant+ 900M with 2000 mh/s but it worth 4000usd it's expensive than it's real price but i can't get one under that price now
with this new equipment coming to the market ( INNOSILICON A5 and D3 ) i afraid from difficulty increasing
in the other hand i want to buy the the A4 Dominator 280 Mh/s with 3000 usd i can't get at this time the L3+ it's sold out in 20 min

If you have free power then get your hands on as many D3's and L3+'s as possible. eastshore.xyz has some available. I have heard good things about them. And build yourself a couple gpu rigs while your at it.

Hi, are there any news from BAIKAL on the launch of new batch of CUBE / Giant or new miners?

I was looking for something familiar for a different use case but the link isn't working. I did Google it and i think the new urls is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/distill-web-monitor-ff/ . Correct me If i am wrong.

er nope..an they likely will NOT be an annoucement...or there never has been on their web site before a sale I've ever seen....they just put them up for sale....like a crypto machine 'snipe hunt' ..catch all catch can....

fun folk....they like to just toss them out there on an unworkable web site and even if you are told all is well on your order

the chances are 50/50 you will get it.
