Hi ppl.

Besides investment costs and electricity costs to calculate ROI, are there other costs?
Does the antminer S9 have substantial cooling costs?

The S9 antimer costs around 1089 USD, power supply at 105 USD.

I use cryptocompare calculator (link below) and it seems even at  USD 0.12 cents, that gives 169 USD per month profit.

https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/btc?HashingPower=14&HashingUnit=TH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=1372&CostPerkWh=0.12

If minus pool fees, will get money back around say 10 months? Did i miss anything else.

My electricity costs would be around 0.09-0.12 usd cents, and i have to pay rent on a small place away from my home. Feasible, u guys think?
Comments appreciated.

Not all of these calculators are accurate enough or rather calculate everything. Take note that difficulty changes and BTCitcoin rates should also be considered.

Better use coinwarz calculator instead (you can input more data and get much more accurate answer). I did it for you (except the pool fee, so have that in mind):
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator/?h=1400.00&p=1372.00&pc=0.12&pf=0.00&d=521974519553.62800000&r=12.50000000&er=1556.20000000&hc=1089

Regarding it's feasibility, you should also expect something bad to happen (along the road), like having a dead board and such so don't expect for everything to be smooth.

Lastly, if you're going with current batch of S9 (as shown on Bitmain), then it's hash rate is 11.5TH/s so the earning is even lesser.

Huh? Isnt the current batch 14th?

Also those calculators take into account difficulty already?
But are they accurate?

Huh? Isnt the current batch 14th?
No, it's 11.5TH/s only.
See the following link: https://shop.bitmain.com/main.htm?lang=en
product page: https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020170428042759434y4DkMn010676

Also those calculators take into account difficulty already?
Only the current difficulty since they can't predict the difficulty changes in the future but most of the time, it keeps on increasing.

But are they accurate?
Yes, with current inputs they are accurate.

They're accurate in that they make a correct calculation based on the information that you give them (or coinwarz does anyway).  But the difficulty adjusts every two weeks and with the development of Bitcoin ASICs, increasing demand for intention and current bull market, the difficulty is going to go up a lot before you get ROI which will make it take much longer.

you should produce $300 per month or around that with a single antminer s9, your electricity mean 0.1 per 34 kwh a day, around $100 a month

therefore the total net income is near $200, in 5 months you will get your money back, but there is the diff that increase 10% at least each month

this put you in the 6 months roi at least, which is not that bad

Hi Sandal.
In this compute, you miss a very important variable: difficulty increase...
you can use other profit/mining calculators, where you can edit difficulty param, so you can understand better...
here, you can get an idea about difficulty history

I think one important point you are missing is that in power consumption for instance you will put 1125 watts for the 11.5 Th/s S9 machine but you should also take into account the watts you will consume to cool the environment you put the machines in.

So roughly I think (not sure though) 50% extra watts should be added to total power consumption and than calculate the stuff.

Hope this helps.  Smiley

i think do an exact compute it will be impossible...
better planning more month do do ROI...
don't forget this:
you can buy ASIC GPU or whatever, and could be fault: This carry forward your ROI day...
you can get electricity interruptions: This carry forward your ROI day...
you could be away from home for days, and you are not able to restart your farm:This carry forward your ROI day...

or you can be lucky, and price of bitcoin double...
and your ROI day, will arrive in half of the time!!!!

and how are you cooling your gear?  A/C or fans?

The room temp has a lot of meaning.  ie an s-9 in the tropics needs more effort and money to cool then an s-9 in Norway.

Also everyone has left out that the gear breaks often.

Are u sure it can cost 50% more to cool it down. I have not seen such posts anywhere.

1 in 10 chance is not so bad i guess. My area is around 28 degrees room temperature.
