As far as I understand, all questions about voting, refund, hosting and similar to this is still possibly applicable for GB2. My order was done via alphahpc.com not from forum directly, can it be the important news reaching via email not via forum thread only? As is done in other GBs..

I don't want a refund, I am still mining as fast as I can to get some boards for my chips ...
I just want to know, realistically, when could I expect my board, in my hands, (I am batch II). I Avalon not delivering at all, or are they just very, very late, (maybe someone has a link to the whole Avalon story as I seem to have missed a few posts).

dude, you are in batch 2 (non-refundable) with 48 chips. sorry, but your opinion about refund for batch 1 is useless.) (but problem is, that you should still vote in this pool) dude? Are we at school or something? Who said my opinion was useless? Truth be told, I could not care less whether you like it or not. FFMG

I think in the vote should participate users that are in this GB i.e. have purchased chips in this group buy.
The other thing I can't see, how the count of each person chips reflects on the weight of the vote. As of now, a owner's vote who owns 128 chips, weights as much as the one who owns 1000, which I don't think is right.
hacko.bg is absolutely right! I vote for refund, this is me: 34 320 25.28 16muA1AUuKC96zbjd2jYaYpnZkikPuxpxF Also other group buys are doing this way. Waiting for updates.

The issue with this poll is that there is no weighted average. e.g. someone with a 16 chip request has the same weight as a 160+ request. Sorry all, if I had a smaller order I could wait out more time for the ASICs. As it stands from the time of this post, the equivalent USD cost is ~$11,000.

Actually.. I'm going to stop the voting option using the poll. I just don't consider the forum tools good enough to fit the purpose. Please4 take the time and vote again, i will create a google docs voting form and share the link.. Sorry for the double work, but it's just what it is..

Just a thought - since you're planning on starting a mining farm, maybe you would consider converting btc spent on pcb orders into "mining contracts"?
Yes, indeed. The total BTC spent will give shares of the same value. The rest (if there's any) will be refunded to the user. BTW, i would also like the idea to convert the whole batch1 funds to shares and buy Cointerra machines.. They would cost 10 times less than Avalon chips + board manufacturing... But let's go for the voting for now. See what happens later.

Voting form created in Google Docs. PM sent to every batch 1 customer. This way i can weight the votes against chips owned.
Regards to all....

My vote depends a lot on if its possible to get a partial refund on the boards ordered or not, and if possible how much. Sorry if it has already been mentioned, but i cant find it anywhere.

I feel like it's worth to put things in perspective considering some of the replies I've read.
The option of 'having miners ASAP' is not realistic, otherwise I guess everyone in this group would want exactly that. We are in the situation where ASAP has no definite date, and that's why we are voting.
In short, the options are (someone correct me if I'm wrong):
1) Wait an undetermined number of days until the chips are shipped. Apparently no one knows how many. Maybe Avalon, but they're not sharing that info with us. Or maybe not even them. It could be days, it could be weeks, maybe even over a month. I would suggest to make your risk assessments and ROI calculations, with the increasing difficulty taking all those factors in mind and the optimistic/avg/pessimistic estimations before deciding.
2) Ask for a refund, a rare occurrence in the world of Bitcoin investments. Considering Avalon is nice enough to offer the chance for refund, I think it's wise to consider it. Getting a refund does not necessarily take us out of the mining picture, we could reinvest these funds into real on-stock miners from other companies, or Avalon itself when they have the new generation ones. Even buy them directly from Steve when he gets them in stock and starts his shares model.
All in all, I am obviously in the group that prefers a refund, but I've tried to explain the situation from a neutral point of view. In my opinion these are the 2 situations and that's how you should decide the refund for Batch 1, not based on non-realistic desires.
Regards.
