Even if bitcoin wasn't accepted yet by the government as regular currency now, gladly banks accepted transaction coming from bitcoin to fiat exchange wallet sites. That's how decentralized type of currency works, not even government can take full control of that, but we freely enjoy the freedom that we have so that people's income will be progressive and they fully enjoy buying local goods. Russia had in fact been very aggressive against Bitcoin in the past, and the Russian government had been threatening both Bitcoin users and miners with severe criminal prosecution. That remained only a bunch of threats, but if you think that the Russian authorities ultimately changed their attitude, then you are pretty much wrong. They are as against Bitcoin as they have always been. Don't take anything what Russian officials might say at its face value. They just admit that they can't cope with Bitcoin, and that they can't outright ban it, but that's pretty much all what can be said regarding the change in their stance toward (or rather against) Bitcoin

If many countries will be open to this idea of electronic transactions, probably in the long run paper money eventually will be obsolete. As far as I know any country is limiting themeselves on printing more and more fiat currency as printing more may devalue or depreciate the fiat currency.
