This is a really old issue and there is no use of complaining because the bitcoin fees was fixed from the starting and if we want a increase in price we will have to sacrifice other things. I normally use a xapo wallet i have not seen them charging me anything even though it is mentioned in their tos. If you transaction is below 0.01 it takes 24 hours but if it is more than that my transaction got processed in 30 min.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

it's because there is huge competition between people that want their transactions confirmed faster, so they raise their fee and force you to raise your, then another one come and want his/her transaction to confirm even faster than the other and increase the fee even more, you get the point

Why don't you just send it with 0 fees if you have a problem with it? Fees aren't mandatory Smiley.

And wait for how long?

That's up to the miners, not the devs.

probably will return to the wallet with 0 fee, better to use an accelerator if you can, but right now it's beyond limit again

Good thing is that the price of bitcoin is still going up. However, if the scaling debate is not going to be resolved soon, most of the investors will like go to altcoins like ETH. Did you see the price of ETH lately? they are like going to the moon. I think people are moving out of bitcoin and trying their hands at different alt coins like ETH/ETH, LTC and Doge and just wait and see what will happen to the scaling debate and where will bitcoin go to in the future.

I currently have 2 transactions that have been unconfirmed for the past several hours. Is there any way to check the size before setting a fee? I'm using Blockchain's wallet, and have set my fees for the last couple transactions to what they've recommended. So anyone know how to check the size before a transaction is actually initiated?

It's fucking insane.

Fucking idiot developers, from what I read above.

Do not believe everything you read, jonald_fyookball in all probability is a paid shill for BU and will do anything to discredit the current developers. ^grrrrrrr^

The story behind the story is that the Blockchain is spammed by some unknown entity and this is pushing up the fees. Yes, if the Block size were bigger this might have less of an impact, but with bigger blocks we will never scale to the level that is needed to accommodate large mainstream adoption.

The Core developers have seen this and they are trying to get SegWit and LN accepted to address these problems. BU is doing their best to stop them. ^hmf^

Signature space availlable -Just DM me if you need some advertising.

I think it is normal for bitcoin to charge very high fees on transactions because bitcoin world is getting bigger and bigger and a lot of people are embracing bitcoin as another type of cryptocurrencies and it just stressed the networks and the network cannot sustain it self so its charging a bigger fees for the miners to get more miners involved in the network and make the transaction faster.

Well, I went to a faucet  and got three burstcoin. You need a few to start mining burstcoin. Also I had some troubles last night mining burstcoin and I wasted 3 burstcoins trying to fix the problem, well a good gentleman helped me out by sending me 10 burstcoin and getting me up and mining.

@ theses forums https://www.burstnation.com/wbb/

Burstcoin mining is mining from your hard drive at an efficient electric costs. What ever how much power it takes to power a hdd.

But anyways I am burstcoin mining and nicehash mining.

Probably 72 hours until your transaction will be dropped from the pool. Smiley.

Just a few minutes back, I paid BTC0.0004 to move my BTC0.06 to one of the exchange sites. That amounts to less than one USD, and the transaction got confirmed in around 15 minutes. Nothing wrong with the transaction fee. I felt that it was the right amount.

I assume it depends on how clogged the network is. Currently there are 50.000 unconfirmed transactions https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions
This is really sad. Just out of curiosity, bitcoin's transaction capacity is about the same after 8 years right ? They should ask other dev teams for help and implement dynamic block size.

You cannot make micro transactions anymore because of the high fees. It is better if you transfer higher amount to maximize the fees.

It is possible that your transaction contains only one input so the size is small. That can still have a high sats per byte fee.

Wouldn't it just get dropped from the network after a really long waiting time?
I would just wait until the amount of unconforimed transactions is lower, I know it's not ideal but it's probably faster than sending with zero fees :p

We can't help to it.
Earlier Micro-wallets, then web wallets and now micro payments. Fees is killing everything. Very soon we gonna see that we will be incapable to remit even $5 with bitcoin!!
Bitcoin would be better tag then as, "Currency of Riches !!"

The chances are you wont get that transaction confirmed and if you are lucky they might reject that transaction because with a 1 sat/B it wont reach anyone, for a standard transaction to get through with the current congestion you need to include 60 sat/B .I know it is frustrating but the fact is bitcoin cannot be used for smaller transactions with the network situation we are in.

Wtf happened to btc? Why is it so high?

I mean what the fuck is going on in 2017?

Guy you just have to take a chill pill because it's not only affecting you but everyone who has done one transaction or the other in the past few days. The people I even pity most are the campaign managers that send bit transactions of bitcoin and the painful part is that, there is nothing I think we can do about it and the only justification I use to console mystic is that ' after all the price of bitcoin has increased so, I should also pay more' aside that nothing else makes sense in this era of increasing prices.
