I think it would be to create websites for your niche. For example you're selling luxury boats. No one looks for those on facebook, amazon or the normal sites for normal people. They search that shit on the net and find similar rich people looking for it. There your niche website will shine. Just make sure to have it on the first page of google.
Good point about website. But it is not so easy to make it on the top of google:) I didnt agree with thread opener that social media is useless, when it was so, then there wouldnt be so many campaigns, threads, advertising, etc. |

I think it depends on what sites you are promoting. If you are trying to get referrals for your PTC sites then making a niche website and advertising it will be a good choice, If you are an owner of your own website then advertising it in the appropriate forums is good.

Why you think promoting on social media is waste of time? you can join content related group or even random huge group if you don't find any related group on fb and post on multiple groups or you can pay people to advertise for you using their social media accounts/places they visit.

It depends and particularly if it's a small scale source then don't rely on someone else for all your promotion and other needs. Just be focused towards what you need and make a healthy growth. For this self learning is the best. Learn about the requirement and internet marketing and make things successful. |

Social media is not shit for this kind of things. Ads on facebook that are sponsored are really popular, your product or anything that you want to advertise have to be popular. I am not sure about twitter though, might be worse there. If you want to advertise locally then you can buy ads on tv, but this way is only good for products, better advertise links in social media. |

Instead of that you can you utilize the any famous site which can be visible by huge number of users or else you advertise your business with the Google adwords campaign. Well I think you should diversifying your methods of advetising both online and offline, don't eliminate any method which can potentially get you referrals and customers. Post in forums, social medias, buy solo ads and advertise in PTC sites, and so on.

For me the best way to promote your products or links is in social media, its really a big help to spread awareness using it especially if you have many followers or friends. but it depends on the products you want to offer, there are certain things that most people are not interested despite of your effort.

Social media and forums is total shit? how u are promoting your offers on social media? free traffic or paid ads? Pushing that one product or ad that pisses someone off cuts them off from everything after that. Having a real site, a real information archive helps keep people from blocking you on the social sites. |

To promote a product successfully, you most use all the available promotional channels you can afford! Some people has using bitcointalk forum here and there have promoted they product such as coin, gambling site and services with success. Some also preferred using twitter and facebook for a bounty campaign and their have do that with great success. Email marketing, google adword and yahoo adword, youtube channel are some of the infective ways to promote a product. I dont think social media and forums is totally shit way, if they are not interested with your link maybe it's not their passion and it's depend on your content and your cover text, many people dont want to join in hyip/ponzi schemes or everything related with scamy website |
