Sometimes they do both go up.
Cases like people tend to sell their bitcoins for altcoins and vise versa just happens to be a lot.
How could you stop it if it is profitable.

The future of bitocoin will likely to become more popular to many people in terms of used as alternate money for real money to buy things that you want. Many people will use it in the future because of the advantages their likely to hear today. This year is a very good year to bitcoin because it reaches a very high value. Because government's regulations/ban will not stop bitcoin to flourish, it may slow down but bitcoin will reach its destinations for sure as per its fundamental nature which will support it to exist beyond any reach. I see the video in the you tube and I think why btcoin is bloowing upwards in the market because bitcoin is more populir, just the fact that a lot of people heard something about it. But many those of people don't know any other single crypto coin. Does'nt mean that the face of the crypto coins will always be that most important coin. I personally have the most faith in NEM, some others believe i other coins to be the new coin. The market is young and things will most definitely change. Some coins do well, only because there is a marketing campagne behind it. Other coins will do well, just because they are well developed. I will always choose the latter. If you want to invest. Just create a good portfolio with different coins or else stick to bitcoin.

I definitely don't think that it is a good idea to keep 30 percent of your portfolio in Bitcoin. It is the opposite of stable right now so I would not recommend keeping that much of your wealth in Bitcoin. The altcoin market  has definitely been sky rocketing and would be a good place to invest some of your Bitcoin, so it is not all in one currency.

Yes I agree that the bitcoin is the pioneer one buy like many other industries if we look the pioneers are left behind by the new comers because of the fact that they do some necessary modifications according to the need of time for the ease of users or consumers. I actually do not share in your sentiment that Bitcoin will continue to have a bright future. Look at its dominance in the coinmarket some months ago and what it is at the present you will discover that it has dropped. Yes the price may be soaring but surely this won't continue up trend. The altcoins are here to take over. In Jan this year Ethereum was merely $8 but today it's over $320. More altcoins too have seen this rise in value. It's just a matter of time before Bitcoin goes a crashing.

I think the future of bitcoin will still a bitcoin with a high price and can use in any kind of transaction like paying bills, shopping online and you can buy the things that you want and many more. Price isn't everything. Price of something always depends on how much people are willing to pay for it. Since altcoins aren't the foundation of cryptocurrencies, it will remain to have that price until bitcoin finally kills itself because of all these scaling dramas. The price might be low for now for altcoins but bitcoin also started from a really low price and now it has increased a lot maybe even more than what we thought it would be.

For now bitcoin is still the highest one right now, I do think that bitcoin will not decrease as altcoins are increasing. I also believe that altcoins will not overcome bitcoins price because bitcoin is the base of all altcoins right now, if we see altcoins increasing bitcoin will surely also increase. There are many possibilities that it can happen in the future and we don't know what it can do but I do think that bitcoin will not go down right away, it might go down but it will not be surpassed by any altcoins right now. Yes it is wise to stay loyal to the flagship brand of bitcoin, as it is the lead and founding coin. It serves as the archetype for cryptos now and soon to come. I'm afraid I might be speculating here when I say this...
   Bitcoin is the model on which a better idea will arise. That is how (I believe) it was designed, the reason for it being an open source project, with De-centralization being it's key theme.
  In a world where old systems are on the verge of teetering,  a rebirth of a new system or idea that may take the old systems place or at least become a beacon and model to learn from.
So, I don't think it is bitcoin itself that is the staple of our financial future, but in fact the very model on which it was built upon.

I think the future of bitcoin will still a bitcoin with a high price and can use in any kind of transaction like paying bills, shopping online and you can buy the things that you want and many more. I guess in the future you can use bitcoin in your daily life. The bitcoin will accept in any kind of bank in the World. It is true that bitcoin is rising up and hopefully it will continue to rise up but i dont believe that it will go down soon. I think bitcoin is slightly going down but it will go back to normal  price. The stability of bitcoin is unpredictable so just go with the flow. But i wish it would not go down.

I think that bitcoin's future will be extremely successful,  with the last August 1 segwit that makes bitcoin enthusiasts panicked and it is a successful one which makes the value of bitcoins increase again tremendously makes people secured with their bitcoins. As to what I can see nowadays. Bitcoin would not be extinct. It is growing more powerful as time pass by together with it's value. I have no doubts with bitcoin because it has proven me a lot even though I'm just almost a year here in bitcoin. I've witnessed a lot of people who are really blessed with bitcoin and they are all thinking too that bitcoin is powerful enought to overcome extinction. The future for bitcoin is looking brighter everyday as it increases in value everyday. More people are now looking for ways to invest bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well, because they see the value in it. The more people joined the bitcoin and other cryptocurrency ecosystem the more valuable it would be and the more profit for bitcoin holders, miners and traders and so on... the list goes on

If the user base increases and also the market acceptance increases, I don't think it will be easy to just ban like that. I see the future of bitcoin a very pragmatic one. I don't think that the government's will ever ban it. There are more options with the government to regulize the bitcoin and implement taxes on it, which will be both in the benefit of the government as well as the people associated to the bitcoin.
