Not in my experience (on windows). Linux might be a different matter. I can run 5 on 12.6 with some gpu devices not installing, but they all mine fine. 12.8, 12.10, 13.1, 13.3 beta 3, 13.4, and 13.5 beta 1 will not install > 4 7xxx gpu

BTW I use win7 x64

IIRC, you need a 64-bit OS to run more than 4 GPUs. This is assuming you've found a MB that can support that many.

I use Win7 x64. I have yellow ! mark in device manager when using 12.8 or higher driver, and only 4 gpus can be used. I use 12.6 and 5 gpus install and can mine on them. Some minor gpu-related drivers don't install because of yellow ! but it doesn't prevent it from mining on the 5th gpu.

I run 3*7950+1*7850 with two riser in one system, and don't see any problem.
OS win7 64, and works on both 13.1 and 13.3 beta.
