I couldn't agree more. No point in investing in a crypto currency which is already huge by itself, not only because of the profit but also because of the risks, the two things are linked actually: let's say you plan on investing in BTC and expect a decent profit, BTC is currently worth $1560, you would have to invest a large amount of money to get a decent profit out of it. For the same very reason, it's not recommended to take such a risk, because let's suppose you invested and BTC started dropping all of a sudden, the losses would be devastating because you had to invest a certain amount of money. And yes by the way, I would recommend to invest in "small" coins as well, you could only earn, and even if they failed you would have lost nothing compared to what you'd lose with BTC.

Will you ask that question at 3000, or 6000, 9000, etc..? It is my belief that Bitcoin is near bottom of a major move upwards in the coming months. Buying now and holding has never failed anyone. The only way you lose is if you sell too soon. There may be better short term profits in alts but those markets could crash at any time. No risk, no reward. Choose wisely.

The earlier you are to join the Bitcoin community the better, if you are a bit hesitant, then you might read story from way back a year ago about the same question you have.  At the end it shows that, if they bought Bitcoin last year, they would have been sitting in a 100% plus profit right now.  The market has not been fully saturated so, I think it is still safe and profitable to buy Bitcoin now.

Ethereum is still more riskier that BTC. It is arguable that ETH's price is that low, considered that value of ETH was around $13 in March and now it is $100.
You base your assumption on hope that ETH will follow bitcoin path and grow to +$1000 and more while bitcoin will be only $5000 - this it is hard to predict.

My stance is: ETH should be your short trading position and Bitcoin long.

It's worth getting into alt-currencies such as LTC (as we await Segwit to approach), BTC at the current price ($1600 USD) I'm unsure, it could go further up but it could also normalize soon back to a lower level. If BTC will go the route of Segwit I think we can see upwards of $2000 soon.

I think its not a good decision to put all your money on bitcoin thats because we really don't want you to lose everything you have, I know you want to double or triple your money but if I were you I would do $1k for bitcoin $1k investment ( bank, savings, and etc. ) $1k buy what you want, all in all its $3k . I think it really not worth to put all your money in one place. That's the most common mistake that people do, don't ever put your money in one place. You got to think what is the pros and cons on it and do your research. I think it is nice that you made the first step in buying bitcoin.  Some people are hesitant due to how the stock market can crash at high levels.  This is not the stock market but it is a similar alternative to the market.  It seems easier to use as a medium to support other smaller projects.  If you ever decide to take the time and energy to research, you might be able to gain back more than 3,000 worth of bitcoins.  To leave your money in just Bitcoins at the a high price is like leaving an allotted amount of funds in the bank with little interest.  You can create a diversified portfolio by using portions of the 1.5 Btc into other projects.  In due time you should be able to get your value back, but it's in speculation that certain projects will create the value exponentially.  Avoid listening to exports about the market, everyone is in speculation based on charts.  It's best to do one's own diligence in research.  Keep in mind any form of investment is a risk and buying bitcoin is definitely not an insured risk, but the rewards are great if you manage to agree in those terms rather than buy in and wait.

That's partly true but right now I'm viewing Bitcoin as a form of investment, I'll just let the price goes up and down, I'm satisfied in the price of Bitcoin today and I won't doubt to buy when I have a cash. I actually planning to do the same thing. I have some saving and planning to buy bitcoin as well and sell it when it has a very good price. Well there is still some risk from new protocols, and until that is over i do not think that it would be wise to buy. But like always there is risk with bitcoin, and we all know that the greater the risk is greater the gain is too. So war bitcoin did not disappoint in rising price, and i think it will continue to do so. Therefor i think that it is good to buy bitcoin like any other time.

Its been about 7 months since the OP posted this. I hope you bought bitcoin because it 10X to date. BTC will always be king of cryto. It was the original crypto and will be the last crypto if this cryptocurrency bull run fails. BTC is the safest investment and the wise one as well.
