Just a note:
People don't need to quote your entire message to make it clear what they are responding to -- it clutters up the thread.
Chris:
It sounds like a bit of depression. I went through it after a medical disaster. The recovery was long, painful and depressing.
Luckily, in a way, nobody ever gave me time to recover -- and when I was busy I forgot about the problems and the pain and the depression -- so I think it helped.
I suspect people would like to see you involved for some time.
If nothing else you can act as a "project director" and I suspect people will keep the coins flowing if you can deliver some value.
Think about it. A good project director is always a real boost to a project And now there are the Gen 2 chips which could make the project really viable.
You figure out what to do -- get people to do it and keep it rolling.
Just a thought!
Best wishes for a smooth recovery. (yah I know!)
As for the 1% that think ill of you -- screw em if they can't take a good joke. The rest were really just worried about you.
Welcome home.

Thank goodness you are alive.
That is all I can say.
Where can I donate to help support your refund, medical and helmet fund efforts?

A great relief to see you are back! I, and several others here, were truly worried about your wellbeing.
I really hope you will find the energy to somehow continue to contribute to the BTC community; I really enjoyed following this project and had high hopes for the final design, and I'm glad to see that at least some projects have survived and been able to produce a functioning K16 using your design! That must be a boost for you, too, I hope! :-)
Welcome back!

Yay, I'm very happy to have you back here, Chris! I'm sorry to learn some of us were right - you wouldn't go missing if not for something dramatical and lifethreatening. So glad to hear you are still standing.
Well, I can't be mad at you - still, a one-liner "Had accident, am alive, will be back in some months" would have helped us a lot here. I think I can speak for many here when I say "nevermind the financial mess, we'll figure this out at some point".
I fully agree with Dave: You owe me money. I want you to pay it back by being, staying a part of this community. I mean it, I already started to form a mob to find you! :-) No, in all seriousnes: If you would agree to such a delegating superviser-position, you would be, stay to be one of the tremdemous assets and contributors to this community. I'm not involved on a deep technical level here, but I had the impression that there are enough people here willing to help, waiting to be delegated! :-)
Again: I am happy to hear from you. Happy to learn you are not smashed to pieces. Happy to have you back. Welcome home.
edit: Well, first of all, take your time!

Chris, Thanks for coming back, I think it will work out better in the end but realise this is not easy. I fear the amount of work put into this project was somehow the cause of the accident (fatigue) and hope that you'll find another project to put as much spirit into (and hopefully gain more). I also have heaps of k16, k1, klego and picngo boards, stencils and other stuff here which I can ship for anyone who actually wants them at this point. I also have full parts and Avalon chips enough for about 12 k16s, which I intended to build myself but never started.
Are you interested in building kits or would you prefer someone else to take this on? I guess you're looking for a buyer for the lot? Thanks, Tom

Welcome back BKKcoins. I wouldn't worry too much about folks here being upset -- your K16 creation is doing well! Plus you have still been posting more frequently than Steamboat! I suggest everyone with running K16s send a little something to your tip address to help you through your tough times.

Hello,
On Sept. 1st I was involved in a motorcycle accident. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital with broken ribs, a broken leg and a serious head injury. My physical/mental state after returning home was poor, and I did not want to deal with any klondike issues for some weeks after that. I am ok physically now.
At the end of October I started reading through over 1300 emails I had, deleting ones that I could not help with and saving the ones relating to orders. After much procrastination, today I read this forum thread to catch up on everything that has happened. I avoided it for several weeks because I was sure it would be a colossal disaster, and everyone would be ready with pitch forks to blame me. I'm happy that bugs were found and fixed and that people are able to get decent hash rates, but I don't think I can help further with development (except perhaps push up previously completed bootloader code I wrote but never debugged).
At this time I want to try to handle refunds for orders that were never shipped for those requesting them. I have very little funds left for this due to a large medical bill here (no insurance), and having to pay for a friend's motorcycle (which seemed to vanish while I was gone). I am able to refund most of the orders at least partially if not fully. Maybe fully. I'm not sure.
I also have heaps of k16, k1, klego and picngo boards, stencils and other stuff here which I can ship for anyone who actually wants them at this point. I also have full parts and Avalon chips enough for about 12 k16s, which I intended to build myself but never started.
The last few weeks have been challenging for me and I have not wanted to deal with any of this. I came close to not returning here at all but decided it's better I try to deal with refunds to the extent I can, and at least let people know that I never planned to drop out, or scam anyone.
I hope you'll accept my apologies for being so late to speak up here. Posting sooner may have alleviated some concerns, but I don't feel I would have been able to help with technical matters, and didn't want to get involved again.
I'll try to deal with my emails related to requests soon. I have not read my PMs here yet and will try to skim through those in the next few days.
Chris.
Jumpin' Jesus! And I thought I had a bad month I think I can speak for almost everybody involved in saying good luck, sorry about your luck, and glad to hear from ya! I do hope you'll still drop some of your wisdom on us from time to time. I'm a hobbyist, and long out of the loop, so I loved this project even though I couldn't participate directly. You and the other brainiacs working on this gave me a hell of a lot of education, all for the price of lurking on a forum I was gonna be lurking on anyway. I've crashed a few bikes in my time. On a "good" crash, it still hurts. Take your time and recover. I think most of us just wanted to know you were ok. Kevin Biomech

Welcome back Chris I can fully understand what you have passed since i 'm in the same situation you are now and if everything goes well, i will recover my health sooner than 3 months from now. I have my 18 avalon chips available and i like to get involved in this K16 project but because of my illness i can't make PCB of it. Also i like to buy a KIT like with PCB, usb loader, parts, etc. Are there any like this available? I can only pay through paypal because BTC price is increased toooo high! Please PM. I wish you the best !!

Thanks, Tom
Welcome Back, so good to hear your still in one piece. If you could put together some kits to clear your components and help with refunds I would still like to build one or two for sentimental reasons, its been a real roller coaster ride. Don't feel bad, health should always be priority. Life is short. Best wishes P.S Don't send terahash a cent, am sure his customers would prefer you keep it. If you have a spare few days read the thread, but in a nutshell they ran with the money.
