new game at http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=22418.0

Welcome to Double Trouble with a Double Jackpot!!!

At the core of this game is the normal double trouble: you pay in an amount (at least 1.0BTC), and when the bank has double that amount, you get paid double what you put in.
To spice things up a bit and hopefully keep the action rolling quickly I'm adding two types of jackpots.

Jackpot 1 will be paid to the address of every 10th transaction. (after the transaction is confirmed, and I'm at home to make the payout) The transaction order will be determined by what shows up in my bitcoin client since multiple transactions will have the same timestamp when looking at block explorer.

Jackpot 2 will be split between the last 2 people to enter before this round closes. (Friday 6/24 10:00 PM EDT) This time will also be based off of my client, and a screenshot will be posted to validate.

So, how does the jackpots get their BTC? When you send in BTC, 4% will get taken off the top before it goes to the bank: 2% for the opperator, 1% for jackpot 1, and 1% for jackpot 2. If someone sends in more than 5.0 BTC in a single transaction, then the operator cut will go to the jackpots instead (1% extra each). Larger transactions mean larger jackpots and more winning, so play big!

Minimum bid is 1.0 BTC. Anything below 1.0 BTC will be counted as a donation to the jackpots

Round 1 ends: Friday 6/24 10:00 PM EDT. Any transactions that come in after this time (acording to my bitcoin client) will be automatically rolled into the next round of play.

Send bids to:
Code:
13kYwafd73DazBZmSDSBAKEMgaT3mtNYGF

Check Block Explorer at:http://blockexplorer.com/address/13kYwafd73DazBZmSDSBAKEMgaT3mtNYGF

Check the google spreadheet at: https://spreadsheets1.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=teDqqm5AnOKrWlrLQql8uPQ&authkey=CInd2KMM#gid=0

Let me know if the spreadsheet has any errors, or needs any explination. It makes sense to me, but that doesn't mean it makes sense to everyone.
Please post any suggestions and I will consider them for the next round.

Disclaimer: This is a game, and there is a chance you will lose the BTC you put in if not enough people behind you play. If you don't like the rules, make a respectful comment, or simply don't play this variation.
Disclaimer 2: I'm human with a family, a monday-friday 8-5 job, and I enjoy sleeping at least 6 hours a day. I will update the spreadsheet and make payouts as often as I can (I'll guarantee at least 4 times a day).

More games lets people get in early with several options. With the jackpots that are set up on this variation, even some of the later people that would lose at other double trouble games can walk away with something from this one. As long as all the pots/banks empty when the games end, there will be the same total BTC lost regardless of how many games are being played.

So true....

I started mine up because it looked like the original creator (who had started the second) had left and I didn't see any going at the time.  Since that happened (I think it was Thursday), a lot have popped up.

duh, double trouble games need to die by design.
if you put money in it after day 3 you're screwed anyway.
but the more games start the bigger the chance to get in early and get some coins.
This is a great chance to make some money ^^ But sometimes you win sometimes you loose, just made 1 BTC off the last one. Get in and be a winner or wait till just before people lose interest in this one and lose your coins.

The day 3 effect you mentioned is the whole reason I added the jackpots. If we get a lot of traffic, then the biggest winners might just be the people that play on day 7 and get that final jackpot.

These are just games. have fun playing them all. I've put BTC into all of these ones that are currently running.

And I think this is a great idea ^^ I will consider putting in a coin at the end just to to get that jackpot if this gets forgotten XD

I could be take advantage of this... but it seems you just entered my address to line 7 by mistake. Probably had it on the clipboard after paying me?

nm, you caught it. Smiley

The one you started was needed since the original creator took off. The one hawk started was something I asked for because I wanted to send 5-6 coins and not scare off traffic from the one you had running. But after that we had 3 more pop up within 24 hours...

The day 3 effect you mentioned is the whole reason I added the jackpots. If we get a lot of traffic, then the biggest winners might just be the people that play on day 7 and get that final jackpot.

Look at the one Tysat started, its going strong and it won't end until 1 week after the last person sending, thus your 3 day effect is not affecting that game at all.

Since you mentioned you plan to do weekly rounds... why not put a portion of the of the non-doubling payments at the end of the chain back into the jackpots of the next round?

I put in a couple plays on the one hawk started because I liked the high roller minimum bid (hence why mine is also starting at 1BTC), but I don't care for a game that has rule changes while the game is still in play(they are somewhat benign, but it's more the principle, just ask any real gambler).

I also have a few plays on the one Tysat started, and will play more into that game. I still prefer the idea of this type of game having a solid end time, hence the creation of this variation.

If there is truly no room in this market for this game then I will not put up a round 2 after the current round is over. If there is a good showing here, then I will continue.

I've always heard that competition is a good thing. Just look at Las Vegas, way more than just one or two casinos you can gamble your money in there. And each of the current games has a slightly different flavor to it, so hopefully there is something for everyone.

anyway, cheers and have fun playing whichever game you like.

Fair enough. And again I wish you luck on this game I'm not bashing it or anything like that. I was just a bit concerned seeing so many pop up.

And Vegas is owned by 3 big corps which own all the hotels and casinos. That's why they have that air tram that goes from one hotel to another.

Good to know about Vegas being owned by just 3 corps, and thanks for all the bumps on the thread  Grin

Best of luck to you, and I hope you stop back by often.
