This is because when traders sell their bitcoins, it makes price fall, and the newly acquired money need to be put somewhere : in altcoins, so the price of those rise. However it seems not that true lately, since everything rose so hardly.

double factor. as others say, alt pricing goes up and down on its own but mostly is tied to the ride/fall of bitcoin. The important part is that most alts are primarily traded in bitcoin denomination, which of course makes their value proportionate. If fleebs are only sold for zotskis then the value of zotski is going to mostly determine how many fleebs it takes to have enough to get a movie ticket.

i'm begin. what happen ! It is not really a mystery, there is a limited amount of money riding in both altcoin and bitcoin, so when more money moves to bitcoin then there is less money available in altcoin and the reverse is true as well.

The basic reason for this is because of BTC being the reserve currency of the crypto world. The average person has to get btc to buy alts. Unless there surges a significant alt/fiat market, they are bound to go down in btc value when btc goes up in dollar value. The same goes the other way, if btc goes up alts go up in dollar terms for a while but it is because of the markets still not reacting to that surge and thua preserving the same btc value for a while. After the markets realize btc is up, most alts go down to maintain the previous dollar value.
Yes, people are using altcoin as the main currency, they are trading alltcon using bitcoin, while some working for signature campaign and get altcoin, which they sell in the market to get bitcoin, and they use bitcoin for storing purpose or even use it for so many other purposes. They also use bitcoin for online shopping as most of the online shops now accept bitcoin for shopping. They also use btcoin for gambling purposes.

The altcoins were price down when bitcoins raised up because they balance the value of each altcoins in there market but it was depends to the capacity of altcoins. Also the fluctuate of each currency in the market were making fair that's why some altcoins were price down when bitcoins is raised up.

BTC prices are higher than altcoin, when BTC prices go up, everyone tries to get BTC rather than altcoin. It may happen panic selling .. then Altcoin price down. However, it is advantageous to dare to buy altcoin when BTC rises, when BTC price drops back then altcoin rises. Lucky for tradersBTC

Because the price is for balance, selling value and buying value of currency and selling value is very volatile can be the main trigger

it is actually not like that at all. i think it is safe to say that altcoins are moving up and down unrelated to bitcoin. the fact that they are going down is only because they have been pumped and whenever price enters a bubble phase and worst of all enters a bubble with fake pump, that price has to come down. and now is the time for them to come down.
this time is coinciding with bitcoin price rise too. and that is only because they started the pumping campaign when bitcoin price started dropping in a correction move followed by some panic selling and followed by some FUD to shake out weak hands.
I would rather agree with this point. Sometimes they go up along with bitcoin and sometimes they go down. If we only look at the best coin - we can see that dynamics are not correlating. I'll take btc, eth and ltc. January 2016. Ethereum is growing in price whereas bitcoin is going down. Litecoin is quite stable and is worth 3$ (eth is worth a bit less). January 2017. Bitcoin started going up big time. Ethereum is worth $8 and moving up extremely slowly till March. Litecoin is worth less than 4$ and is also quite stable till the end of March. I think that's enough to see that things are changing all the time and there is no connection between the growth.

I think it was depends to the situation, because some Altcoins were raised up like Bitcoin. Also, I noticed that most of the altcoins were depending to the value of Bitcoin that's why they thinking that when Bitcoin raised up the altcoins were going down.

altcoin are pump and dump bitcoin not, here your answer, but i think some altcoin got bursted because they increase too high quickly, and they increase all altogether which a rare thing, the profit still remain the same if you mine, because bitcoin is higher
I think not only altcoin but bitcoin also pumps and dumps, as in present time the price of bitcoin Is contnously increasing, but I think the maket is going to take a correction in next few days and the price will decrease a little, and there I think that there is good chance that the price of many altcoin will pumps as people will divert their investment into altcoins.

Yeah, I also think like you, altcoin decrease and Bitcoin increase to create balance to the market because most altcoin prices are based on the price of bitcoin for adjustment, if the bitcoin price increases, the price of the altcoin will be adjusted to match the bitcoin price. Say exactly is the price of altcoin and bitcoin affect each other to limit market fluctuations, however, this is just one factor, we need to rely on many factors such as market information, information on projects related to altcoin and bitcoin, etc. to explain this problem.

Whenever bitcoin rally starts, altcoins start bleeding.Altcoin holders immediately sell their altcoins and buy bitcoins.Since sell order is more than the buy order, altcoin price starts to decrease. But when bitcoin price starts to fall, many bitcoin holders sell their bitcoins and start buying altcoins. Thus altcoin price increases.

It always because of supply, demand, and news. Just like currency and commodities, they always have a signature market. People like us need to follow with coin management and good strategy, not to hurry just slow but sure. Besides that, if the prices not move we will never get profit, simple like that. The last thing please don't blame the coin market, we just need to fix our method, not the market.

I think altcoin prices down because of its demand and supply. Also because of the dumpers to get BTC as what they are doing is to hold its bitcoin prices.

Because altcoin holders would sell all his coins to get bitcoins when price is increasing then they would probably buy altcoins if bitcoin is decreasing.

Actually this used to occur before, but nowadays I have frequently seen the opposite: all crypto coins are involved in a strong bullish trend these days because of the current altcoin expansion.

traders sell alt to get btc, hold and wait until market became calm lil bit. rebuy cheaper alt. repeat=profit? ?? that's makes sense that basically aim of all traders is the profit and they will concern to the trend market because if uptrend belong to the altcoin usually they will trade or holding altcoins and if bitcoin had uptrend they will starting to sell their altcoins and move to bitcoin for a while

People sell whatever altcoins they have for Bitcoin, when they see that it's rising. Then at the "top" they buy back the altcoins and sell BTC, so it becomes vice versa, altcoins up, bitcoin down.

Yeah, it's true. But not all Altcoins were getting down when bitcoins were raised up in the market. Because some Altcoins were raised up together with Bitcoins it depends to the value needed. Also if we think that when Bitcoin raised up all Altcoins were getting down I think sooner or later other Altcoins have a tendency to die immediately.
Basically some altcoin have even very strong position, they get a strong support by the investors even if the price of bitcoin is increasing, for example Etherium, Dash, ZEC and so many other altcoin have very strong position people are trading them in priority and that is the reason that the price of such altcoins remain as stable even if the price of bitcoin is increasing.
