So reading from our good forum I experimented and opened an electrum wallet on my tablet. I opened a watch only wallet using my deposit address. The same address i use weekly for savings.
I found my savings. Does this create a security risk? If anyone got hold of my address they could see what i have.?

No there isn't a security risk. All transactions and addresses balances are public on the blockchain anyway. With a watch only wallet, nobody will be able to spend the coins and only see the balances which they could already do if they knew your addresses.
