Last time the statement has been made in the last minute, that is, around 5 pm in whatever time zone they are.

Bitcoin price is dipping because it is normal correction, not because negative reaction to ETF denial.
Stop dreaming that ETF will be accepted this time, nothing changed, prime argument of SEC against Bitcoin still stand:
'BTC is unregulated asset and it can't be fully controlled' So, it is better to don't delude yourself with fake hope.

Yeah, already several times this has been denied in the past. So only after regulated use from more and more Countries as a whole can expect the etf approval. The previous etf application discussion took place months back and haven't got time to make everything perfect that's been stated by SEC.

but one thing has changed in the world. and that is the news about Japan. if you look at all the rest of the countries, they are treating bitcoin a lot better. amny more countries are thinking about doing the same thing.
so i say there is a very small chance that has affected SEC decision.
but in the end even if they approve it, nothing is going to change

Don`t bother with ETF decisions.Bitcoin don`t need ETFs to grow and become
even stronger.
Waiting for ETF decisions "manipulates" the bitcoin price and that`s why they keep the time and place secret.This is my suggestion.

well it would be disastrous if it didn't  correct itself, what's the point of the price going to for example 3k when it crashes back to 1k after that? The steady small growth is always better than pumps and dumps. Also it is going to be accepted this time for sure, as there would be no reason to discuss it the second time if they were going to cancel it once again. And after that bitcoin price will start going up again people will move their money from all the alts to bitcoin, so this last dip is a pretty good time to buy cheap coins before the moon.

Bitcoin doesn't need ETF but it would boost bitcoin price, adoption rate and credibility greatly. We want Bitcoin ETF, even though we can't have it.
There will be always some news to sell: this time it is ETF next it will be new bitcoin law or big another large company accepting BTC.

Keeping the ETF decisions secret and also not announcing the date publicly is more dangerous as more Fud will be created and everyone will try to create it own News, do its better to keep all the things transparent to avoid unnecessary fuds against bitcoins.

It was after hours, after the market closed that's for sure. Some time around 5pm. I'd expect them to do the same this time. Usually the reason for doing it after hours is so it can't directly affect stock prices as the news comes out. With it being for bitcoins though I don't see how it would affect anything.

Well, the paper is from 24 march, the day btc start rise up. Maybe nobody cares, but what's about the market itself ? We will have the answer on Monday.

Lots of pension funds are restricted in what they can invest in, due to the terms of their trusts - usually they can only invest in SEC approved stuff. So if the ETF is approved, pension fund money can at last invest in bitcoin. We're talking billions here.

However, the ETF won't get approved. All the problems referred to when they last refused are still there - unregulated exchanges like bitfinex etc, who have banking problems, the chinese exchanges not allowing bitcoin withdrawals. Now this ransomware business. It's likely to be a NO.

BATS is one of the largest equities exchanges in the country.

An ETF would introduce A LOT of investors to BTC. A lot of mom and pop types who have no clue how to buy it. It is another step in legitimizing bitcoin.

It will be huge and if an exchange lists us, the price will have a historic move up

For what it's worth, I think that if ETF won't get approved will be a good thing for us, it sounds funny but for me we are still in a "early adopting" period if compared with Bitcoin's potential. Grey zone is good.
