Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

That pricing is - insanely high! Avalon for $1,700?? That is 2x the cost direct from Canaan.
Looking at their website: HIGHLY SUSPECT to say the least

It has high prices, because it is a hardware reseller.  Grin

They find hardware, they ship right away. Shipping costs are low.  Wink

!00% and more is not an typical much less acceptable reseller markup in the crypto coin hardware resale market. Even the customer not having to pay for shipping does not compensate for that. A 50% markup - sure if the market will tolerate it, which I doubt. Not when at least in the case of Avalons and s9/T9 Bitmain gear there is new gear in-stock ready to be shipped.

Then there is the matter of warranty service: Bitmain does NOT have any Authorized resellers. That means - no warranty from them nor will they even consider warranty coverage through said un-authorized reseller. Don't know for sure but I'd guess Canaan is the same regarding their Avalon's.

That said, if some folks decide to buy from you, well, more power to ya.

That will then just leave having proof of product deliveries to customers vs being another take the BTC and run operation.

You are right, the prices are high, but they guarantee the delivery.
