hi could I get some recommendations for best cellphone wallets and why? Thanks! Thanks for suggestions! If people could give their reasoning for why each program is better it would be much appreciated! Please no online mobile wallet information if possible. I do not want to store bitcoins with webpages where they can disappear in a minute and leave you hanging, like mt. gox. so far I have Bread, and Mycellium down as good. If you or anyone has any experience using any of the below wallets feel free to state the pros/cons or write something on it! creditbit wallet?? airbitz wallet?? samourai wallet?? Reasons for Bread wallet::: Jaxx wallet https://jaxx.io/support.htmlreasons: altcoins!! Electrum wallet android - reasons: pros: its electrum! cons: lots of negative reviews REasons for Mycellium: I've heard mycellium is a good one.
Thats right. Let me give some features of mycelium Bitcoin wallet that I like : 1.You can signed message with your Bitcoin address. 2.You can import private key from other Bitcoin wallets. 3.Better security . 4.You can choose your desired fee (low priority , economy , normal and priority) 5.You can rebroadcast your transactions. 6.HD wallet. 7.You can create multiple Bitcoin address with different private key. 8.Easy to use.
Mycelium is recommended mobile Bitcoin wallet for beginners even professionals.

I only use electrum and mycelium. Its secure and i recommend it for you. There are also online wallets like Xapo and Coinbase. I suggest don't use them to avoid inconvenience. There are many people who are complaining about these wallets. I don't use other wallet aside from electrum and mycelium.

I agree how reliable cellphone wallet is the Breadwallet, IIRC for IOS and android 6.0 users and above, but even though the last month many people do not discuss the possibility of a hardfork it is useful to know what the developers of any wallet are intended to do if this happen. That means, if they will offer the capability the user to choose the chain which he prefers or not. EDIT: i use bread wallet. it is so simple and fast for beginners.

I also used breadwallet. Started as wallet for IPhone, but now it also support Android devices running 6.0 or higher. It is easy to used because its very simple and the security it provided makes it friendly to people new to bitcoin. So I would recommend this to you. https://breadwallet.com/Another wallet I heard, but I haven't used it is Airbitz. Its also supports both IOS and Android as well. Here's some review I found about it. - Simple account creation using just a login & password (no printing or emailing of PDFs, writing down passphrases or adding encryption settings) - Automatic wallet encryption, backup, and multi-device synchronization I hope this helps.

Bit.ac seems quite good but the transaction fee is much higher than many other wallets. It too doesn't have a manual fee option. Possibly it gives much easier access and for large volume transactions this can be preferred, because when we send a small amount the fee looks high and we regret using it in the future.

I have been using blockchain's android wallet which had been easy-to-use and had been so convenient with all my needs, from sending and receiving the coins to importing/exporting my keys without any obstacles. And I can also use it for bigger transactions too and set my own fee to minimize fee levels in the wallet.

I use browser based wallet blockchain.info or Spectorcoin is good too.
You can also use indiesquare wallet which is for tokens but supports Bitcoin as well. It's nice because you use the same address for everything and it's nice to use.

I recommend Airbitz. It is designed to be both secure and easy to use. It has a lot more features than breadwallet and is easier to use than Mycelium.

If you are using Android phone, there you have many wallets to choose as you can see here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-walletBitcoin Wallet, Electrum and Mycelium are most popular. Blockchain.info also have their mobile app. But other wallets is good and safe to use. P.S. No matter which wallet you are using, it's not safe to keep big amount of bitcoins in mobile wallet because phone is such thing that it's easy to loose.

Whatever mobile wallet you will use, watch out, because other mobile apps have a chance to steal your coins. Don't keep big amounts in mobile wallet, it should be change or amount that you can loose.

I'll recommend that don't use any mobile app from any Web Wallets such as blockchain.info, Xapo, etc that has suggested by others, Why? because once the website/server of this sites(blockchain.info, xapo) dropped/becomes down you will lose all your bitcoin that stored in your account. And there are many people encountered issues with this sites which they lose their coins, but most of them are owners fault. And I suggest as what others recommend using Mycelium mobile wallet because it's safe to store coins there and it's the most recommended wallet in any smartphones whether android or IOS. P.S. No matter which wallet you are using, it's not safe to keep big amount of bitcoins in mobile wallet because phone is such thing that it's easy to loose.
Yes, phones are easy to lose that's why in every wallet you have to make a backup, your master seed and private keys in case of this situation which I encountered already, losing my phones with my mycelium wallet but I recover it instantly because I have my backups. So if you choose already which wallet you like, you are responsible making your coins in a safe place and always do a backup a make sure you have secured your device in any malwares.

As I see you didn't read my whole post. I agree that breadwallet is a reliable and secure wallet but my concern is the option the developer gives to their users if scaling debate ends to hardfork and two chains. Therefore, in case of split, electrum users has the option to choose their favorite chain unlike in breadwallet which they have not.

OP opened this topic asking about bitcoin 'digital wallets' in cellphones and not about cases. A good case protects our phone if it drops in the ground and surely has nothing to do with the safety our bitcoins.
