I am personally still a newbie concerning the crypto coins knowledge, especially altcoin, just have known a bit about ripple. I felt that as ripple value increase, then bitcoin will be doomed as ripple can carry the value in the real world, then we no longer need bitcoin.

Anyway just my opinion.

I've same thought with you.

My opinion ripple has discovered the actual problem of crypto. It's so simple thing.

The main thing of crypto to be the micropayment method. And they discovered to make the instant and really cheap transaction than bitcoin.

That's why a lot of Asians are like ripple.

The politicians of bitcoin have destroyed the bitcoin itself.
We all know, bitcoin as a rule in crypto.

But the possibility still always there. This about to solve the actual problem on crypto.

It's not about building a good infrastructure or good innovation.

ripple
1. ripple token is not even on a real blockchain
2. ripple token not scarce
3. ripple token is centralised.
4. but some of the services are decentralised

bitcoin
1. bitcoins token is on a real blockchain
2. bitcoins token scarce
3. bitcoins token is decentralised.
4. but some of the services are centralised

if you are talking about the UTILITY
bitcoin is used by WELL over 300,000 merchants
bitcoin is used by millions of people

ripple is used by a few hundred, maybe a couple thousand
ripple is used by far less people

if your talking about the market cap

screw it, dont even bother
anyone can create an alt with 5trillion coins. sell one for $1 and instantly have a market cap of $5trillion
market caps are meaningless so dont even take a second glance of market caps.

bitcoins purpose vs ripples purpose are 2 different things.

if you want to find real value
look at:
merchants using
users using
businesses involved in
people employed to work on
people employed and paid in

and you will see bitcoin wins

as for my statement about bitcoin having some services that are centralised. this is because bitcoin is so powerful that when businesses get too big for their boots and start beating their chests, they forget one fundamental thing that inspired bitcoin into existence.. nothing is too big to fail
as such core removing code rules and replacing it with economic hopes is a betrayal of the original ethos that inspired bitcoins existence.

so when businesses, dev teams, VC's get too centralised. you can tell it is not going to end well. either for the team, company or service. and if they try to change bitcoin too much from bitcoins original vision/purpose. then bitcoins utility will drop

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.

I dont really think for the bitcoin price to go down in the 1000$ now its almost 2000$ and im not thinking of it to go down probably ripple was a good investment for a long term unlike bitcoin already a high price today so good for the investor who invest earlier.

Absolutely.

franky is right but in this fucked up, sick and twisted world, bad technology often destroys good technology. PC destroyed the Amiga, VHS won over Video2000 and Betamax, Windows won over everything else, Germany losing WW2, USA losing Vietnam war and so on.

But to be honest, if that happens, I would still not use Ripple because I do not want another version of Paypal...

BTC needs to scale, or team up with LTC, or Ripple will buttrape both.  Sad

Truth is the new hatespeech.

Ripple is LITERALLY "fiat the pseudo-crypto". It's not even a good currency and the reason that the token is worth so much is solely because of speculation now. There is next to no demand backing it in the way that it exists right now, and it doesn't matter what happens with XRP because it does not mean anything as a crypto. Anyone who believes that XRP is a "real" crypto is deluded.

I think a lot of people are just looking to anything besides bitcoin right now with the way the unconfirmed transactions are looking and no consensus on a fix. Ripple is the only one with a clear reason for people to use it besides just speculating

As far my understanding bitcoin is decentralised widely accepted and having huge value crypto currency and ripple is centralised backed buy banks were less chance to mine the coin where lots of share hold by the owners.

I would invest in bitcoin rather than ripple because ripple sucks and it only promotes centralization which a lot of people hates so i think it is better to stay being decentralized which bitcoin already provided to us and that is why it is worth it to invest in bitcoin.

Other than being derivatives of each coin is really nothing to do with each other. Ripple has an actually proven itself yet and there's too many points just like it for it to stand out in the crowd. It'll either make it or it won't but at this point it looks like it's not going to go much Beyond this point. Also dump in BTC prices making things dry for altcoins too.
