Most of the altcoins gain value because people trust them for some reason and put their money in them. The reasons are usually different. Anonymity, speed, resistance in time, something interesting which bitcoin does not cover are some features of them. News in different sites is not always a reliable source. If someone is intrigued about the course of an altcoin, usually reading only the white paper in the ANN thread, probably knowing the abilities of the developers and personal experience can earn enough money but always with enough risk as well.

As far as i know there aren't any news sites that talks about possible pumping of coins. You need to speculate all these information yourself. Use your knowledge, learn about the coin and check announcement thread here. Also join the discussions on forum and reddit. This way you might get some insight about the coin and how the market is going to be.

I usually read on coindesk, but I do not think that they are as fast as the reddit network is. It is a social network and people share knowledge to each other. Reddit is better than facebook. Facebook is just a garbage. You should read reddit more often for news and updates

I think reddit could be a good place to check on the updates and see what is going on with a particular coin, what people are saying about it and what news are circling. From these one could possibly predict the upcoming pumps or dumps.

you can try the r/altcoin r/cryptomarkets and r/cryptocurrency sections. Both cryptomarkets and cryptocurrency sections has monthly discussion which might be useful to gather information and necessary news. Join the discussion and make sure you subscribe to those sections.

You don't. You read on the technical developments and why a coin should see adoption and you invest in before the hype begins. This is how to get in early and get the profit on everyone else.

pumps don't happen because of technical developments and there is no adoption. pumps happen because people want them to happen. and they certainly won't tell anyone else before the time.

There are different ways to get updates
Twitter,youtube,facebook,reddit and also receive email of news letter.
But i think its not enough for observing pump and dump yiu have a good technical and fundamental knowledge and past experience and market conditions.

Everything we need is in the internet but you should be careful where you read updates as some of sites here are just for trolling. I usually read updates in reddit and cointelegraph. I found their article honest and its credibility is good. I usually follow some ann thread here to get what's the trend for altcoins.

Commonly I read news and updates for possible pumping of altcoins here on bitcointalk, coindesk and more. I just search google and pick the good and trusted resources to read. Also, you can read on facebook just join crypto related groups, sometimes they can be a good source of news but not all the time.
