4. Change username and passwork, this can be whatever you like

6. And place it in your appdata/roaming/Marijuanacoin folder

Make sure to save it as a .conf file, and not a .conf.txt file

I would switch the ticker if you're going to do the code updates.  $MAR is Marriot International and it's a real bitch when searching MAR on Twitter.  You get a ton of stock crap from Marriot.

I suggested to the last developer to switch to $XMJ.  He didn't want to do it but since you're already changing stuff and have to update all the services (coinmarketcap / cryptopia) now would be the time.  

There are a lot of traders on Twitter that can make or break a coin.  Having something easily searchable is key to promotion IMO.

The last developers reasoning for not switching was that he only used #marijuanacoin on twitter.  That's flawed logic as with a character cap on tweets and people's lacking desire to type out all of that, the ticker symbol is important.

This is not a bad idea. I will think about it .


And keep in mind we work on this project on a best effort basis. Don't expect miracles in a short time frame. Now is the time to invest and HODL for our next step.

What is the second most popular MJ coin?  I know potcoin is #1.  They're 58 on CMC because of Poloniex.  If they were on any other exchange they'd be a 1/4 of their marketcap IMO.

Very true, but hopefully that shifts, not good overall for so much weight on polo compared to other exchanges. MYR was delisted from polo and barely lost anything in price (after a few weeks anyways) and trex volumes are ever rising. Also, ton of CNY trading going on too throwing the volume numbers out of wack. BTER, which sucks and hardly has any BTC volume, has some crazy millions floating around in CNY.

block explorer stopped working (~1000 blocks behind).  You need to stop the explorer and delete the index.pid file in the temp directory and restart.

Don't think its anything ground breaking, but still plenty of reason to buy. Market cap especially, its hard to find coins cheaper than this. Devs seem busy and wallet design looks good enough too, but these aren't innovations they're necessities.

For me though main reason I'm here is the name. Like you say there are many similar coins, none of them tremendously innovative or valuable. Marijuanacoin makes more sense than a lot of the other naming options out there. The "Cannabis" named coins are too medical sounding and the street named coins "pot, dope, kush..." are too far the other way (dispensaries want to distance themselves from street terms for their product).  "Marijuana" is the best word to use as it strikes the balance between recreational vs medical use of MJ.

But again, look at the market cap. You can get a lot for little investment. Its a lotto ticket this one: potentially huge payoff, but also good chance you'll lose everything.

I think a lot of people would be happy with a website and new clients.  I know a few people lost coins when the other "web platform" went offline aka the web developer stole all the coins.

I'd only ever use a web platform if it was proven 1000% safe and I had a physical address and name of the developer or business... and I would probably still wouldn't use it.  But I guess some newbies would.

That address was used for some tests with the online wallet. I'm not sure if multisend works when you send it outside your own wallet. I know some exhanges don't pick up the transactions.
I will take a closer look into the code that handles this feature.

Thanks! Oh yeah,  I knew what you meant. What I meant was at the end of the day, everything is trust. You must trust a wallet or platform. MAR has a new wallet and anonymous dev. Weighing your offerings against Topia I for now must go with Topia. A coin with little attention gets little scrutiny, no way for me to verify this is legit. But obviously I have some trust in this or I wouldn't be bothering to invest and discuss....And in time I will definitely be staking with your wallet and using your platform marketplace as well.

Maybe reducing the reward to .5 MAR vs. 1.5 MAR would be better?  Or having the PoW reward be .25 with random bonus blocks of 5+ coins.

That would mean our spendable supply will grow to a maximum of 4 million coins, probably less, at the end of proof of work. This is a reasonable coincap when thinking ahead of the future.

One of the advantages of ending PoW is that there isn't a PoS only MJ coin (as far as I know).  Also, there are a lot of PoS fans out there who just want to keep their wallet open and make coin.  Totally understand about a hard fork, but there are so little people on the coin at this point, that you could probably do it pretty easily.  

Or maybe just do a swap and that way you could get rid of that huge burn which is skewing the block explorer and the percentages of the richlist.  A swap would also allow you to get some development funds via a small premine.

A swap is also effective for removing supply if you limit the swap to X number of days / weeks forcing people to swap coins or lose them.  People who've given up on the project and aren't participating in this thread / project will be unaware of the swap and lose their coins - kind of like if you rent a storage unit and forget about it.  Eventually, the storage unit contents will be auctioned to the public.

Removing PoW and increasing the PoS to 2 coins per block, could bring a lot of people to the party as PoS is easy and people need to buy the coins to get in on PoS.  Also removes supply from exchanges.  On the other hand, like I had mentioned before, PoW is an easy way to newbies to get coins if they don't have BTC to purchase MAR.

Some things to think about.  I'm sure it will work out whatever way you decide to go with in the end.

Well this is basically how I feel too. At first I wanted to cut PoW, but I believe it was you who made a good point about the positive side of mining.  

We just go with the original specs. We all decided to invest/mine based on these specs if you look at it in that frame.
I will just update the seednodes for now and do some other minor changes.

I looked at the ticker change like you suggested, but it's REALLY hard to find one that is not being used on social media already. I guess we need to blend in with MAR stocks until we find a good solution.

If you ever need to re-sync, the total syncing time can really be a pain. By using a fresh blockchain bootstrap/snapshot you can speed up that waiting time significantly.

I like the idea of a coin swap. It has worked very well for other coins in the past. I don't like the idea of people losing coins. But I do like the idea of locking out any past nonferrous people with coins.

I would also like to see X11 replaced with master nodes. I'm a miner. I love mining but their is a better way to secure blockchains now. The master node/POS stake wallet is a very elegant solution to keep each other honest. This makes for very strong network network infrastructure while providing rewards for hosting nodes and holding. Masternodes cost should not be cost prohibited later on as adoption takes place the required coin count should be lowered as the cost of MAR goes up.  Rewards I think should be lowered, but given more often. I love watching the Mints pop up ... it is very addicting.    Thoughts ?

$2 puts MAR just over a million market cap, making it MJ coin #4 I believe. $20 puts it at about half the value of potcoin in spot #2. I think either is reasonable and possible given that this is still the best named MJ coin and we're in the midst of an incredible crypto bull run. Devs road map achieved plus some better listings (bittrex.com maybe too) this project could definitely hit either of those estimates.

Also, Polo although I like it, is getting a reputation for delisting perfectly good coins. I hope we see a shift wherein they're no longer so volume dominant over other exchanges. Cryptopia is great, they deserve more business and are growing. If Polo loses share, topia coins like MAR are in a great spot.

I read things about masternodes in here. I personally dislike them. Besides the current masternode hype, I don't think a masternode coin is fair. In order to gain an income from a masternode, one needs to have a minimum amount of funds to be able to receive a reward. This means a group of "elite" will have more benefits than small fish without a masternode. If a regular joe can't setup a masternode, be it because of a certain amount of funds, or knowledge, the function is failing. Marijuanacoin and the functions it offers are meant for everyone, without the need for special requirements. That is how I see a successful currency.

Yobit was about the only exchange I could find with regular volume and an affordable market entry price. I did not sent in any request yet. I want to have the wallet update ready first before we apply for a listing. Other exchange suggestions are welcome! Bittrex and poloniex are far away I think. We are just 2-3 weeks into a takeover process, things like exchange listings take time.

Well it is not my coin  It is still an opensource project. If someone creates a fork on git, and adds masternodes, it can be done.
I know my way in the bitcoin code, and adding masternodes into this sourcecode is one hell of a job. Along that road comes a lot of testing and debugging. A swap is much easier, but really a last saving call. Rewarding early adopters is never a bad thing, but we have other things in mind for that. Thats why I prefer to keep the current code as it is, or only make small changes if the demand is there. And there are more important things to work on right now. MAR is still recovering from the dumpster we we're left in. We need more than masternodes to get our levels up.

I have to say I actually really like the Cryptopia interface. It's classic, but with a modern twist. Their trading engine is actually not bad either. And their trollbox with all the options is really fancy stuff! I have no clue what karma points are though, but who cares? We're getting some karma there! 
I'm really happy to have MAR on there. They are around for a while now, and not some one-day fly exchange.

About yobit, I just thought it might get MAR some more exposure. Though I'm not sure they will even list us for 0.1 BTC. But it's worth a shot. Everyone has their own preferred exchange. But this will give us an extra exchange with a different group of traders.

That is a very good question!


Given the combination in the pub key (address), it is really impossible with today's computing power to generate/calculate a priv key for that address. So it is impossible for that funds to move from that address. It is like locking a door, even though you don't have the key.


About segwit, we will not need that for a loooooong time. Our maximum blocksize is capped at 20mb per block. That is 20x more than bitcoin. I doubt we will outperfom bitcoin in transactions one day.  
Other updates which can help the safety and network performance, will of course be integrated if possible.

X11 mining makes this coin vulnerable to 51% hack , and me leery of investing real sums. Just looking for a solution to secure the block chain with out having to point my ETH miners this way.


Masternodes are not a fad.. that is FUD ... kinda like the mass FUD of miners not being profitable a year ago.  It is a way to secure a block chain with out setting up and running massive sever farms.  MN's are rewarding and profitable for both POS stakers and node owners.  I did bring up your concerns about the cost of masternodes in later stages of adoption and was hoping we can find solutions and work our way around  road blocks others have encountered.

Sorry , I can only imagine the work load some of what we are considering. The logistics and such but you are not alone here. We can and will help. I am here for the experience, not the money. fiat currency is a lousy way to keep score anyway. And when I compare MAR, to my BC wallet for example, I think it's safe to say the MAR wallet and the functions in it are pretty modern. The only thing we don't have is masternodes.

I disagree with your first paragraph.  New tech?  This is all new tech.  Masternodes have been around for a few years.  Far from not proven and risky - I could agree if it was something that was released by 1 other coin, 2 weeks ago.  DASH sits at #7 and PIVX sits at #41.

Any hard fork is always inherently risky, as is any centralization. Not referring to just the tech but perception as well. Although you make a good point, what perception...seems to be me, you and the new dev. No one else is watching.

Honestly, there are a lot of marketplaces in the cryptospace, none of them really successful - maybe a handful have some success and they're mostly bitcoin.  Altcoins have an even worse success rate.  The nature of both the crypto user and the drug user don't fair well went it comes to the checkout on a sales site.  Enter your home address and phone number in this box kind of questions.

IMO most people in the space right now love to mine, stake, and trade coins but not use them so much.  I see marketplaces (for any coin) as something successful in the future when cryptocurrencies are more widely known by the general public.

The last developer also had the seed shop and marketplace before things like a mobile wallet, etc. on the roadmap.  I had a conversation expressing that I thought he should reverse that.  He wanted to do the seedshop.  Like a seedshop was going to take MAR to 1 million dollar marketcap.  IMO running an online store is a lot of work dealing with customers, delivery, and complaints.  When the dev is bogged down with dealing with customers, when is the development going to happen?  There are only so many hours in a day.

Honestly, there are a lot of marketplaces in the cryptospace, none of them really successful - maybe a handful have some success and they're mostly bitcoin.  Altcoins have an even worse success rate.  The nature of both the crypto user and the drug user don't fair well went it comes to the checkout on a sales site.  Enter your home address and phone number in this box kind of questions.

IMO most people in the space right now love to mine, stake, and trade coins but not use them so much.  I see marketplaces (for any coin) as something successful in the future when cryptocurrencies are more widely known by the general public.

The last developer also had the seed shop and marketplace before things like a mobile wallet, etc. on the roadmap.  I had a conversation expressing that I thought he should reverse that.  He wanted to do the seedshop.  Like a seedshop was going to take MAR to 1 million dollar marketcap.  IMO running an online store is a lot of work dealing with customers, delivery, and complaints.  When the dev is bogged down with dealing with customers, when is the development going to happen?  There are only so many hours in a day.

Tough call, I'm easy. A marketplace won't be used anytime soon realistically, but it does lend legitimacy toward the ultimate purpose of the coin. I'd say more wallets with easy installers for various operating systems is a higher priority as I'd think they would legitimately be used. The pot crowd isn't the tech crowd, so make it easy for them to get involved on whatever system they're comfortable with....that's my opinion anyways. Most important thing is to always be doing something, anything, that's what inspires investor confidence.

When you think about it, about 90% of all miners, mine to dump for BTC. So I'm really thinking of cutting PoW asap here. It's not helping us, that's for sure.

This does involve a hard fork though. But I really think it's worth it. At first I did not want to do this, but after a second thought, why not? I can only think of positive changes when PoW stops.

Coinpayments only accepts coins in the top 150 on coinmarketcap and coins with minimum 3 exchanges. We're not there yet.

MAR wouldn't be the first coin to go all PoS.  If you do it, I would make it happen at a certain block.  That way anyone who purchased mining power can use it up before the switch over.

Since you're going to hard fork, think of anything else you want to do... this would be the time to do it.  Like if you wanted to raise the stake to 2 coins per block, etc. 

Forking at a certain block is a no go in my book, if we fork, we fork on a certain epochtime. That makes the transition to the new reward schedule a little bit smoother in my experience.
IF we do continue with this, the community will be well informed up front. I will keep you updated on this!

This is because of the charts reloading from time to time. This is a memory consuming task for the wallet. Turning them off will speed up your wallet.

This could very well be possible. Unfortunately PoW mining with the current block reward has a negative effect on Marijuanacoin.

Maybe reducing the PoW reward to .25 and increasing the PoS reward to 1.5 would be a happy medium.  Rewarding holders.  .25 MAR for such a low supply coin I would think is acceptable.

From the specs it looks like newly mined blocks are available after 10 confirms.  Maybe increasing that to 90 or 120 would delay people from instantly dumping?  Might frustrate people who are only mining the coin to dump as they'd have to wait on the confirms.  It wouldn't stop the dumping, but would make it not as simple and easy as waiting 10 minutes to dump.

I defended PoW earlier in this thread as it allows people to get into the coin without having to spend BTC buying the coin.  Though, I do like PoS.  poswallet.com has created an entire business focusing pos coins.  There is a market there for pos coins.  PoS is easy to mine and only requires you have coins in your wallet.  Doesn't get any more simple than that.

Would there be coins that would be locked and regular staking coins in the same wallet?  Or would all the coins in the wallet have to be locked?  Would the coins locked be staking at the same time and if so, wouldn't they be staking and securing the network?

It would be interesting if you could have different types of staking coins in the same wallet.  A sort of multi-stake, if that's what you were thinking.

Make it that the PoW coins go right into the vault for staking.  That would be hilarious.  No dumping of PoW coins!  Not sure the pools would like that though.   

Sorry, I can't really tell you much more until I finish implementing this and testing. That would ruin the surprise factor if I do get this of the ground.



It looks like the explorer is holding out better after the resync. It was constantly crashing at one point. I will monitor this, and probably look for a third party explorer as backup.

IMO I just don't see top 150 / 200 without Bittrex.  Top 100 without Poloniex.

Bittrex is possible because they already list CANN and DOPE.  But the dev would have to verify their identity on the platform.

Dev identified would help a lot and yea any other exchange really. Livecoin has been increasing in volume. Costs 3 BTC to list or through voting which we'd surely have no luck at for now.

We are currently testing a new core update. This will allow users to lock up funds. When your funds reach 12 weeks of maturity, your MAR is ready to harvest/stake for a higher reward. So we're basically growing marijuana inside the wallet.
Regular staking will also be possible, but against a lower reward structure.
PoW will keep running as an extra to secure the network, and to keep it moving if for some reason everyone locked up their funds for bigger stakes.

Exciting times ahead for MAR!

The rates are not yet decided. We are simply testing with random numbers right now on a private network.
We do want to lower regular PoS rewards to 0.1/0.2 MAR. Funds that are locked, and released after 12 weeks, will stake against a higher (annual percentage) reward.

We would like community members to state their opinion and their ideal rates first before we decide on official numbers.

If we don't lower regular PoS rewards, the inflation which we already are upscaling by this system, is too much. But like I said before, this is just a thought, and rates are not official yet. This system rewards true followers and community members. Funds are not solid locked for 12 weeks either. You can always unlock the funds, and use them to send to exchange or whatever. This will reset the locked inputs 12 weeks time terminal though.

The difference between this and a masternode is not really comparable since this an entirely different system. But unlike masternodes, no special requirements are needed. You simply choose to lock funds or not. When you do, you will be rewarded (much) more MAR.

Example with static coded rewards (We take 200 MAR for blockreward just for example purposes.) :

Person A locks 10000 MAR without using coincontrol. Because he/she did not use coincontrol to split inputs, he/she will receive one bigger stake of 200 MAR after 12 weeks.

Person B locks 10000 MAR using the blocksplitter to make 100 inputs of 100 MAR. After 12 weeks, this person has 100x chance to hit a big block of 200 MAR. Though the weight per input is less than Person A's input, the advantage really lies with Person B having 100 inputs to compete for stakes on the network.



Example with annual rates (We take 80% just for example purposes) :

Person A locks 10000 MAR without using coincontrol. Because he/she did not use coincontrol to split inputs, he/she will receive one bigger stake based on the annual rate of 80% x input age/amount after 12 weeks.

Person B locks 10000 MAR using the blocksplitter to make 100 inputs of 100 MAR. After 12 weeks, this person has 100x chance to hit a big block based on the annual rate of 80% x input age/amount. The new wallet will be compatible with the current chain. We're only adding things to the current source.

You can't pay Bittrex to get listed.  You can only submit a coin to them for review.  There are some requirements like the developer must have an advanced verification level account on the exchange.

MAR will never reach 500K.  Maybe 100K if the developer starts cranking out new releases and features.

There is just too many coins to invest in, new ICOs happening every day, and MAR is on a low volume exchange.  There aren't the investors with large amounts of BTC on cryptopia to pump the price up.  Even if the coin would go to 100K, 300K or 500K I doubt that there would be much buy support.  

Big money is sitting on big exchanges.  If whales can make money trading a few coins at Poloniex and a lot of coins at Bittrex, why send coins to Cryptopia and invest in a coin with .8 BTC trading volume and not a whole lot of community around the coin.  Cryptopia hasn't even done 500 BTC trade volume in 24 hours.

Anything can happen.  But cryptopia was great a couple of months ago.  Now there are other exchanges which compete for those BTC deposits. 

IMO money will move to Cryptopia if there is a hint that MAR might get listed on another bigger exchange.  But from what I'm seeing, Cryptopia is losing marketshare to other exchanges.

I like Cryptopia, they have a nice exchange - could use an interface update, but besides that it's good and secure.

The advantage of CANN and DOPE is that they're on Bittrex which has been slowly regaining volume.  When an exchange as a whole pickups volume the whales and pump groups look at coins they can pump - which sparks long-term action for a particular coin.  There just isn't that kind of action on Cryptopia from what I'm seeing.

For me it does. I was diagnosed with Migralepsy several years ago in my mid-30's out of the blue and I started having seizures. For several years I was tied to my Neurologist and Pain Management doctors, Tests, MRI,s CT Scans. Etc and not to mention multiple medications that ended up having me like a zombie all the time.

After a few years of that I got fed up and tried CBD Oil (no thc) to start and it's made a huge difference to me. I no longer take any of the prescriptions and I haven't had a seizure event in a couple years. I still have my bad days and get frequent migraines but it's allowed me to live my life again.  Sadly i'm in an area where CBD and MJ are illegal but I am in process of moving to Colorado with some friends because of that. I visited out there earlier in the year and tried MJ for the first time and it made a huge difference in my pain levels and mood. Even more so than the regular CBD Oil without THC.

Friend at work told me about this and it would be good to invest in and I look forward to seeing what happens with it more so related with MJ and not just the coin itself I don't have the funds to heavily invest but I love to stake and watch the coins grow and also it doesn't hurt to make a few dollars on it as well    I look forward to future updates

I was trying to think of how we could put MAR into the "center stage" of the MJ coins.

Im not a "technical" person like u guys....but i like to try and "spot" (rofl) things...and try put them "together".

And right now, 2 things are standing out to me that could be of "significance"...at some point.

1) The amount of MJ supporters on YouTube (making tutorials on how to make ur own products, or grow , or buy product e.t.c ...now that MJ is "fairly" legalized world wide atm ..or in America at least).

2) The social media platforms that are starting to show up on other cryptocurrency coins (e.g Digital Price)

I dont know how..but man....if we could tie those 2 things together somehow....MAR would be the "Only" MJ coin ANYONE ever takes note of.

I think it would equate to MASS Free advertising somehow (via MJ YouTubers)....which would "then" point interested viewers to a possible "Social Media" platform....where they could converse, buy / sell products, latest news on the world wide MJ scene....and most importantly...earn MAR via "likes" and "shares"etc....where the "average" person can earn/buy/sell MAR , WITHOUT really having to understand all the "technical" aspects of the crypto system e.g Mining.

Just a 2 cents worth at the most basic level hehe ^^

1: Lock/Vault fork
After testing the changes on a private network for 7 days, we came to the conclusion we're not going to rush and roll out this update yet. The vault system works, but our core developer needs more time to make this a flawless system. This is expected to be rolled our after summer. (holidays coming up)

We also discussed the rates that will be active after the fork.
PoW rewards will be lowered to 0.75 MAR per block.
Regular PoS rewards (no lock/vault) will be lowered to 0.5 MAR per block
Locked/Vault PoS rewards will be raised to 25% of staking input (example: 10000 MAR locked = 2500 MAR reward after 12 weeks)

Code:

12 weeks reward examples
Old rewards:
~2000 MAR each day through PoW = 168000 MAR
~1500 MAR each day through PoS =  126000 MAR

Total : 294000 MAR


New rewards:
We'll take an example where everyone has their funds locked, and 100% off all coins (900000 MAR) are staking (This is kind of impossible though, but it will do for example purposes)
~1000 MAR each day through PoW = 84000 MAR
25% stake of all coins                  =  225000 MAR

Total: 309000 MAR

As you can see the total difference is minimal, but the difference in rewards for loyal holders/stakers is massive!


2: Explorer
We are not happy with the Iquidus explorer. It crashes often without a good reason(Mongodb ). We're going to look for 1 or two alternative explorers.

3: Promotions
This was a subject that kept us going for a while. We decided to play in on the social media community by creating our own video instructions on how to grow marijuana, use marijuanacoin, and testing/taste experiments. We'll start with this in the following weeks with a "How to for beginners" on growing marijuana, and using marijuanacoin itself. If anyone here has good video editing skills, and wants to help out,  please contact us!

4: Exchanges
Cryptopia is a great exchange, and they've been really great to list MAR. However, we do feel we need more users, and most importantly more volume to really live up to the potential this project has to offer. We decided to submit listing requests on Yobit and Bittrex. More information on that when we receive a reply.

5: Roadmap changes
Our roadmap was called a "development proposal" for a reason. It was likely to change after a couple of weeks working on the project. In order for us to get listed on some high volume exchanges, it is in our best effort to drop the shop and marketplace for now. Let's just say it is quickly misunderstood what's legal or not for exchanges and the laws they operate in. Instead we're going to focus on a flawless and easy to integrate payment terminal for merchants. Our final roadmap changes will be announced later this week.

That's the BCT mods deleting your post, not the MAR DEV.  It has happened to me in the past.

It would make the project look more complete and professional for blockfolio users to see a nice logo.

I've expressed before that staying away from Yobit might be the best bet.  It's almost impossible to contact them if you need to do an update.  It becomes a real pain to have to deal with users who are having issues with Yobit.  I can't state this for a fact, but being on Yobit might affect being on Bittrex.  I would save Yobit for when the coin is completely solid and on multiple exchanges.

Just my opinion.

Though, I'd like to see the vault earlier than the Fall, development takes time.

I agree I have had nothing but trouble with dealing with YoBit on other coins and coins being locked up with no reply from support. I would suggest we do not list there

I think this one stands out from a lot of other cannabis initiative coins, I like that the wallet has Multisend options in it, which allows you to send a percentage of your stake to many different MAR addresses if you wish.

This is the beginning. Large spreads are fun to play with. I hold MAR and have been playing the spreads with much success. Buy low sell high. 90K coins for sale, .9 BTC buy orders.

IMO that's not good.  Things change daily, but the buy orders keep going down.

Lot of uncertainty to exactly what is going to happen with MAR.  Last release just about a month ago.  Next release very far off.

More questions than answers IMO.  Price / buying / selling reflects that.

Subjects:

1: Lock/Vault fork
After testing the changes on a private network for 7 days, we came to the conclusion we're not going to rush and roll out this update yet. The vault system works, but our core developer needs more time to make this a flawless system. This is expected to be rolled our after summer. (holidays coming up)

We also discussed the rates that will be active after the fork.
PoW rewards will be lowered to 0.75 MAR per block.
Regular PoS rewards (no lock/vault) will be lowered to 0.5 MAR per block
Locked/Vault PoS rewards will be raised to 25% of staking input (example: 10000 MAR locked = 2500 MAR reward after 12 weeks)

Code:

12 weeks reward examples
Old rewards:
~2000 MAR each day through PoW = 168000 MAR
~1500 MAR each day through PoS =  126000 MAR

Total : 294000 MAR


New rewards:
We'll take an example where everyone has their funds locked, and 100% off all coins (900000 MAR) are staking (This is kind of impossible though, but it will do for example purposes)
~1000 MAR each day through PoW = 84000 MAR
25% stake of all coins                  =  225000 MAR

Total: 309000 MAR

As you can see the total difference is minimal, but the difference in rewards for loyal holders/stakers is massive!


2: Explorer
We are not happy with the Iquidus explorer. It crashes often without a good reason(Mongodb ). We're going to look for 1 or two alternative explorers.

3: Promotions
This was a subject that kept us going for a while. We decided to play in on the social media community by creating our own video instructions on how to grow marijuana, use marijuanacoin, and testing/taste experiments. We'll start with this in the following weeks with a "How to for beginners" on growing marijuana, and using marijuanacoin itself. If anyone here has good video editing skills, and wants to help out,  please contact us!

4: Exchanges
Cryptopia is a great exchange, and they've been really great to list MAR. However, we do feel we need more users, and most importantly more volume to really live up to the potential this project has to offer. We decided to submit listing requests on Yobit and Bittrex. More information on that when we receive a reply.

5: Roadmap changes
Our roadmap was called a "development proposal" for a reason. It was likely to change after a couple of weeks working on the project. In order for us to get listed on some high volume exchanges, it is in our best effort to drop the shop and marketplace for now. Let's just say it is quickly misunderstood what's legal or not for exchanges and the laws they operate in. Instead we're going to focus on a flawless and easy to integrate payment terminal for merchants. Our final roadmap changes will be announced later this week.

Kind of in the same boat here. Would like to see more frequent updates.

I didn't take place in ICO, but i saw a huge potential of this project (For my opinion potential of this coin is 0.0005-0.0025 BTC) and started to buy MAR from it's first day on Cryptopia, mine MAR on Supernova and make good trade with it. If all went according to road-map, Prizzzrak, Me and other MAR early owners already became major owners of one of the best project in CryptoWorld and make your profit every day. But...

Proving the identity of developer is very good for project, but it's not a law. Everybody can have his own opinion.
Now our new Dev show me that MAR can't die! And only one thing that MAR really need is good developing. If MAR DEV Wouldn't be able to move this project, so there would be another Dev...

The whole "medicinal purpose" surrounding marijuana is still in it's very early stages. Most marijuana is smoked/vaped for pleasure/fun/relaxation, and not for medicinal purposes. In the following years the amount of people who use marijuana for medicinal purposes will increase, but it will not have a bigger market share than the recreational users anytime soon.






The final roadmap is expected to be finished later today/tomorrow. We have some good things lined up.

Not the dev. If he dumped, he did so weeks back when he was more active here, and when enthusiasm and the price were higher.
Everyone who holds MAR is now at the mercy if he really is continuing to work on this project. All holders can do is hope it is just a summer break.

My wallet is showing 500 more coins than what my wallet address balance is on the Richlist.

I've redownloaded the blockchain, but the results remain.

All my coins in my wallet are on the same address.  My balance in my wallet should equal what is showing up for my address on the Richlist.

The market is controlled by 1 person atm.

He sells to himself for low (like 680 sat).. and then gets YOU to place a bid "above" his 680 sat. Once you place the top bid... he wont sell to you again.
Instead....he begins to buy from himself, all of a sudden...to start raising the price... to make u start to panic... so that you will buy off him for Higher...before the "price takes off" rofl ^^... or at the least.. get you to Raise your bid..higher. And the Higher u raise ur bid...the Higher his sell order becomes. Until you either buy off him for High... or ...your bid has been raised enough (in panic) for him to sell to you for... at a profit... from his previous "victims" rofl (or to cover buy/sell fees..for selling/buying to/from himself)

I left a few pieces of his strategy out. But thats the general jist.

I'd be surprised if MAR reaches 2k.  Even if MAR DEV comes back, some of the ideas on the roadmap aren't game changers.  He's going to have a hard time building a community when other coins (including MJ based coins) are leaping ahead.  In addition, a lot of investors I know hate quiet developers.  Posting twice in the last 2 months isn't exactly good communication.  MAR DEV could've easily popped in and said hello once a week.  I'm waiting for the website and block explorer to be taken down.

This is the constructive talk i am rooting for aswell.
i am invested with mining equipment, so there is absolutely no loss in this for me. but i still would like to see this coin developed even though it might be hopefull, and according to previous poster "mental disorder " to hold such fait.

i used to love mary-j and i like how THIS particular system is put togheter (roadmap), and i think allot of other people smoking the herb also thinks this would be a great asset to the marijuana comunity world-wide:

*you get to adopt a plant, and get return on investment on the grow; the feeling and anticipation on the "adopted" plant must be awesome.

You also get a community with a buy/sell platform, that allows people to sell  their own handcrafts and other equipment from peers to peers, with a specialication on the marijuana culture.

and the webshop is a nice attribute.

If the name was so great, where are all the people lining up to get the coin going, becoming fanboys, and talking about how awesome the name is and how successful a coin with this name could be?  As I see in this thread, there are like 3 or 4 people posting.  There are bigger shitcoins with horrible names with more fans.  Plenty of people have seen this thread and probably a lot of people in the MJ community (people looking for MJ coins to invest in) know about marijuanacoin.

IMO there is too much baggage to get a good developer.  IMO any new developer coming on at this point would just try to pump the price by making a lot of empty promises.

Very strange for an anonymous dev to announce a hard fork with no details. Its counter-intuitive. You'd want to promote your own work, not hide it.... Anyone could announce a hard fork, post some code and ask people to start using it, but ultimately people need to be convinced to switch over, consensus is the only thing that dictates what is mandatory. Why would people start using a new version when they don't know what it does and who wrote it?.... all while the current version seems to work fine?

Kittehcoin went through a hard fork. Dev spawned up 80 billion new coins for himself. Other coins have forked where devs added viruses and such to the new code, exchanges then de-list and kill the coin when they catch it. People can't trust unknown forks by nature, its not how crypto works, usually it only occurs when a dev has majority control of the network already with no one watching......its highly suspicious to mention a "mandatory" fork with no details, no reason to pass up the obvious chance to promote the work and build consensus.

I have been following MAR for awhile.  Finally decided to signup and post.

It is obvious to me that the developer is switching the coin to pos with the hard fork.  Why else would there be a hard fork when there isn't anything wrong with the coin?  The only other two options for a hard fork are A) scam via more coins or altering the total coins / dev stake B) change the algo.

The developer can grab cheap coins before the fork, end pow, and make a killing as the price rises when people are forced to buy coins.

I agree with the other poster that the only way to really increase the price is to release services not just release clients.

Be prepared for a pos only coin.  It is going to be interesting to watch mar.  I grabbed a 1000 coins cheap.

Wow, looks like the website and block explorer are back online.  Maybe that means we'll get an update in March!  

I have no idea why MAR DEV just doesn't come online, tell us his plans, and let everyone know what is going on.  Otherwise, just take the site and block explorer offline and say you don't want to work on the project anymore.  

If you do have any plans to develop MAR to be a good coin, keeping everyone in the dark and missing deadlines (which you set, not us) isn't the way to do it.  I mean really, either just quit or let us know what's up.  You're not going to be the BMOC if you show up with all kinds of services tomorrow.  #1 you have to have trust with the community if you ever expect anyone to use the service(s).  Without any trust, your services are going to be meaningless / worthless.  Who's going to trust someone with, as an example, an online wallet if the developer has missed deadlines and doesn't come online for months at a time... not me.

It's not like MAR is the only coin out there.  There is a ton of competition.  You should be happy if anyone is posting in this thread.  Blowing off people isn't the way to create a MJ based coin.  If anything, the MJ crowd is the worst crowd to blow off being that MJ people are very community oriented (peace, love, get hi kinda shit).  So, make a decision, come online and give us a detailed update or quit the project and shut everything down.  Don't be an Asshat.

This is most likely going to be another dead coin.

You're probably right.  MAR DEV could've made some nice money on this coin.  I figured MAR DEV wasn't going to do anything.

Still could make some good money. Communicating alone adds value. I think the coin is mostly held now by people who bought when it was worthless after the scam launch- there was tons available as it was dumped. Then when it regained some price, those people sold for profit to recoup initial investment. So at this point coin is mostly held by people who don't need to make any money from it, and have no incentive to sell cause its worthless again anyways.

MAR DEV is it possible you need more coins to make this worth your while? Holding out quietly as you try to buy more? Unfortunately I don't think there will be much luck in that. The coin is too worthless for anyone with a good chunk to bother selling. If so I would love to help and make sure you're well invested, im sure others would donate as well....But I said this months ago and i 'll say it again, it's hard to make a donation to an anonymous dev who hasn't proven any commitment to the coin yet. Throwing money at an anonymous person, with no history, and who has no obligation is stupid. No one is going to do that.

There is no big question that MARcoin DEV is stupid. He made this shit coin for some income (20 BTC now is good money) and run. Then he went back and try to make more money, but i think that he didn't make more than 5-10 BTC.
Last 2 months all cannabis coins, except MAR coin, were pumped and renewed their all-time highs with very tasty BTC price.  And i cant understand this stupid inactivity.

I agree, the price quadrupled in a couple weeks... imagine we are staking coins that are worth more than a dollar at some point, that would be amazing to ANYONE interested in investing.

I think the dev has done a great job, the wallet works fantastic and looks amazing. I think this currency will get much more attention as we move forward, just for the fact people can get in and dont need mining equipment. I can't wait to see where this takes us.
