Considering the gold rush around peer-to-peer currency Bitcoin, it’s not surprising that one of the hackers at the Disrupt NY hackathon created an application around the currency. Pay With Bits was to be a Square for Bitcoin. The startup essentially allows Bitcoins to be transfered between parties via their mobile phones.

The NY disrupt is showing some great ideas, but this is of course one of my favorites it looks awesome!

Doesn't really explain much, and it seems their site is down?

Can you tell me more about it? Sounds interesting, if he found a better way to send Bitcoin between parties via their mobile phones then BIPS Wink

It requires no extra software, and uses SMS and phone numbers to send the bitcoins from one account to another. Your site is a whole POS system this is like a tip bot for the real world. That is what I got from the video.

As does BIPS, if you utilize our eWallet, would love to show you, if you are interested.

I just saw there was a video, I disabled NoScript. currently watching.

EDIT: I see it as a payment system where you have bitcoin on your "BITS" account and can send these instantly via SMS mobile number, this is what I got from the video.

Likewise from the UK.

built in 24 hours (according to its developer)- a little premature methinks to be thinking of it as a solution to world problems!

Just FYI, when you register the intro syntax text they send out doesn't note the "address" command that you have to use/send to get a standard bitcoin address so that you can fund your wallet.  Maybe they left it out on purpose so people wouldn't start really using the system yet because it's still so new.  In any event, it's pretty slick.  It's about as easy as it gets.  Now if they can make it secure...

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
