In my opinion, criminal will always do their best to push their criminality activity. Bitcoin is not a crime even some government don’t accept it. But bitcoin passed into some government hiring, and they pass it. For me, bitcoin is not a crime some people just think that bitcoin is a criminal activity, because the identity of the user is so limited that you can know how is that person and what will the user will do to it.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Well bitcoin can really belp decrease criminality because of the huge profit that people can gain even in a simple way of buy and selling .I believe that if the  criminal will really know how to do bitcoin maybe they can get interst on doing  it and in a long run maybe it can become thier great asset for survival.maybe these would be a great opportunity of gaining than to risk thierlife doing a crime for money.I think no one will risk thier life for money if there are a simple way to gain.

https://www.deepdotweb.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-playing-an-increased-role-in-crime-europol-says/

Would you believe that the existence of bitcoin has increased the number of criminality in  some countries in the world. This is the issue that was being thrown by the EuroPol and the UK Metropolitan Police. According to them bitcoin has played a huge role on the increasing criminality in their area. They added that a huge number of cybercriminals were using bitcoins in their activities.

This just shows that as bitcoin develops both advantages and disadvantages will tag along.
I agree to you somehow because bad people find easier to do their bad jobs due to the existence of bitcoins therefore this results to increasing number of cyber crimes. They take advantage on bitcoin's security aspects in doing their transactions, they now prefer more to deal with others through the cyber world because they believed that police authorithies will find harder to trace them which makes them more confident in doing their businesses. That's why even payments done in crimes like buying and selling of illegal firearms, illegal drugs and even slavery that are typically done in person-to-person meetings are now done with the help of bitcoins.

These things are very disappointing to know buy we can't escape the truth that bitcoins can also be used to do evil deeds.

Unfortunately it is very disappointing. I love everything about bitcoin and crypto currency market but knowing that dark side is also in the market makes me very sad.

that's illogical as bitcoin is also a currency so how it can avoid being use inside criminality? I don't get the point that you are disappointed mate we should consider it as another ways of introducing bitcoin to its much bigger venue the more issue that has been created to give negative feedback with this investment the more people getting ideas of good opportunity to ride with it.
Although we can not make the criminal stop using Bitcoin for crime, but the fact, we can minimize the activity of them in cryptocurrency. They can not use normal exchange to cash out, they need to use private exchange through dark web or other platform.
Exactly, There is no point of supporting this argument that bitcoin is resulting in increase in number of crimes. In fact, there is no way that bitcoin can do anything in this aspect. It is the owners of bitcoin which are using it, now it is up to them for what kind of purpose they actually use their bitcoins. This is just a misconception that bitcoin is promoting criminality in this world.

I believe that's the advantage of bitcoins being exploited by criminals. It's untraceability allows bitcoin to be used in transactions of large amounts of money from different side of the earth. It can also be used in illegal transactions like buying drugs or money laundering with ease.

It is unfair if we put all the blames to bitcoin whenever we hear that there are crimes associated with crypto currencies. I do believe that increasing the crime rate  is not the intention of bitcoin. But if criminals are using it then we can't help it. That's how the minds of criminals work.

There would always be criminality around the world even if bitcoin does not exist. We really can't do anything to stop criminals in using bitcoin in illegal activities. Even the police can't stop the increasing number of criminality in the society, how much more in bitcoin. The blame should be in the user who do illegal transactions through bitcoin and not with bitcoin itself.

I think the rumors about the close relationship between crime and bitcoin is too exaggerated. Governments of different countries it is beneficial to shape public opinion. The only threat is virus wannacry. Use bitcoin creators definitely expanded the coverage of countries.

Bitcoin is an Double edged sword , you can either use for good or criminal activity , because bitcoin is anonymous its very hard for the governing bodies to control the criminal activities with bitcoin

In the modern world there are enough different ways to permanently protect bitcoin from criminality. For example, your bitcoins were stolen. We take a service that determines where the bitcoins were transferred. We find an exchange, the exchange usually saves all the info about the owners, we find the owner, we connect the police, and happy end!
For example this one service https://usethebitcoin.com/matbea-net-find-previous-owner-bitcoin/
So I tried it and it works. Extensive address base. Criminality will be forgotten if there are such services in our bitcoin-future. Is not it?

Of course this is a big issue. It is to be expected, considering that bitcoin is a trustless currency. I bet Satoshi didn't factor this into consideration while he was developing the bitcoin technology.

Indeed, there are some crimes linked to bitcoin. But it's not a bit of a bitcoin. Some people use guns to commit crimes, and some use guns to defend themselves. Bitcoin is itself an encrypted currency. It is the bad man who uses it, not the bitco

I thought about what you said, the existence of bitcoin can increase the number of criminality in some countries in the world. Crime
activities  have  occured before the bitcoin was born, after the bitcoin appeared, the activity can grow and more secret. I think
even if bitcoin appear or do not exist, criminal activities still exist, all depend on the nature of the humans .

For sure, any criminals will utilize anything that will help them succeed in doing a certain crime. This is why it will not surprise me anymore if one day people will start using bitcoin for criminal activities. It is sad to know, but we have accept that because of bitcoin's high value it is possible and would likely happen.

First, we have to remember that people were using fiat currencies for criminal activities for hundreds of years already, and no-one will stop them from doing it any time soon. With cryptocurrencies it became even easier, as people can move large amounts of money via international borders without revealing their identities. I think at some point people might be requested to reveal any of their Bitcoin wallets by different governments. That exists already in some European countries and Paypal accounts, that you have to disclose them for your taxes purposes. For those that will want to cash their cryptocurrencies out, governments will be quick to jump in and ask about the source of all those coins.

Yes, there are many scams on the net. We can easily be fooled by the high profits that these sites offer. Because of the high bitcoin value, we must be wary of investing in bitcoin

Unfortunately some people use bitcoin as a medium of exchange in illegal trades through this the wrong practice from the system is blame and carried upon by the company. From the innovation of company and management of bitcoin; they make some effective ways to avoid this thing may happen and not be tolerated. The coordination of the government and bitcoins provides an all days security to monitor all people who are using bitcoin in illegal trade or use medium of exchange in the black market.

I believe the existence of bitcoin lessen the criminality. Because bitcoin is source of income or money. And according to many of us,money is the root of all evil. Because of poverty or lack of source of income criminal are force to do illegal activity or criminality. But I know when they have a job or some source of income to provide their own and family expense they will not do bad things to live. But in negative side bitcoin can use in criminality, all we know that bitcoin is very convenient and it is not hard to them to do or to buy illegal things or to engage illegal activities using bitcoin.

Sure crime has always been around but bitcoin is a tool for criminals to use to easily finance their crimes.  Bitcoin is not meant for crimes at all but an alternate paying system that is supposed to eliminate the middle man (banks).  That was the intention of the creation of bitcoin.  Just with anything that is discovered or invented, there are also unintended uses.
