You are right about the migrant influx. The European Union will start slowly disintegrating, if the immigration policy is not changed. Even the recent Brexit occurred due to the immigration fiasco. Without the refugee influx, the United Kingdom would have stayed as a part of the European Union. Even now, it is not too late to change the policies.

Migrants in the beginning is good but later on it will cause some problems on the economy as well the society as a whole. But it also depends on what kind of race that will migrate. The problem with EU is that the migrants were coming from the Arab Countries which if uncontrolled will bring a political and societal change in their country. The Europeans love birth control while the muslims love propagation after many years the muslim population will have a population explosion and they will become the majority in Europe. When that time comes the political leaders will be muslim and the EU will become a muslim state.

Not only are they quick to reproduce, they're quite known for not assimilating with host countries. How often do you hear Europeans complaining about East and Southeast Asian immigrants? When those migrate there, they usually study or work, not like these that just live off welfare.

UK can just enforce the pre-EU rules.  Only citizens from certain countries will be allowed visa free.  All others with valid passports can apply for tourist, business, immigration visas etc.

BTW, asylum seekers are not EU citizens.  Merkel is saying what she wants them to be: voters  aka 'citizens'.

People without valid passports should not be allowed into ANY country.  This situation in Germany is insane.

Btw dont fall for weird conspiracy theories. For the german naturalisation process to start you have to atleast live 8 years in germany and have been granted permanent residence. The last one is quite difficult to get if you dont work.

Once they get in, they seldom get out. More than 80% of the "refugees" were single men. Just wait until they file applications for family reunification. I know there are plenty of Poles and other East Europeans in the UK. I was referring to the "refugees" since Sithara007 said "including asylum seekers". Again, I don't believe they can just force the Brits to accept more people, European or not.
