I think it's the best way for newcomers to get a hold of bitcoins.

When I discovered Liberty Reserve and opened up an account I looked for a "Get LRUSD with your credit card" link for like 2 full minutes XD

well, the really best way for newcomers will be bitcoingateway.com, once it's back up and running and accepting CC payments. most newcomers will be just as unfamiliar with liqpay as with LR and friends.

in the meantime, there's always #bitcoin-otc. not that great for complete newcomers, though, but if you have or can establish a reputation, you can trade for pp, moneypak, amazon payments, etc.

Doesn't bitcoingateway work only for US citizens ?

I'm not from the US. I was able to negotiate an arrangement with Bitcoin Gateway based on establishing trust, and had a successful transaction outcome.

I look forward to seeing whether the process is more automated when they reopen for business.

Yeah, but it is not yet ready for an average-guy from what I understand ... ?

Hello!

I want to know if someone knows a way to still use LiqPay.

LiqPay supports my credit card, so this is why I use it (I don't have any other way to put USD into exchanges, because I live in Brazil).

Besides Dwolla, liqpay is leaps and bounds ahead of any other of these funky currency exchangers i've tried (that are accepted at bitcoin exchanges)

Why.. use Liqpay?
Because you can use a credit card or paypal.

I think?

Not really sure what you're saying.

Although I don't know why the OP doesn't just transfer the liqpay to btc-e... bitcoins are usually the cheapest there, anyway.

move topic->https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Also OP, do you still want to exchange with LR?

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

yes.

but btc24 is having some serious liquidity problems:

ie: they don't have enough USD to you withdraw, neither enough people selling BTC for USD there. so if you want to buy BTC with LiqPay, btc24 is not a good way (unless you want to pay 100 USD for 1 BTC...)

well, 80-90% of the time, btc-e is the cheapest place to buy bitcoins anyway.  so liq to BTC-e costs 2%?  then whatever the commission is at btc-e?  don't remember... still probably less than buying it at mtgox

hmm strange right now though, with a mtgox sell at 20.58 and bitme buy at 21.  btc-e is only 6 cents cheaper too =p

Bitcoin-24 had their bank account seized, so that's not an option anymore.

BTC-e doesn't seem to list liqpay as a funding option. They do list interkassa, but I don't know/can't figure out how to transfer from liqpay to interkassa. Is this still doable?

Anyone know of any other ways to buy BTC with liqpay? Thanks
