It seems that Poloniex will hold your money hostage unless you make a forum post about it. See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1893008.60https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1907457.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1907678.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1834015.0So this forum post will stay up until Poloniex has returned my $6,439 USD. A few days ago around May 10th, Poloniex experienced a DDoS attack and had trouble processing withdraws, understandable. However a week later, people were still having trouble withdrawing. So, on May 21st I tried a small withdraw of .001 btc. Hardly a large amount and definitely not over any withdraw limit. 24 hours later, no response. Mods in trollbox say to wait and be patient. I file a support ticket. Everyday I ask the mods to bump my support ticket and still no response from support. So the way I see it there is a problem because Poloniex is not being transparent. No one has any idea why Poloniex is freezing withdraws. In anticipation of typical responses to this thread: 1) "You withdrew over your limit": .001 BTC is hardly an amount that should trigger "OMG that's a huge withdraw!" flags. 2) "They usually respond in 24 hours, but resolution can take 3-5 days": IT HAS BEEN 10 DAYS and not a single response not even in the first 24 hours. No explanation. None. 3) "I am having no problems withdrawing, you must be overreacting": The problem is that poloniex is not being transparent about why they are holding withdraws. This means that at any moment they might choose your account to be frozen too. I was having no problems with withdrawing... until I did. So after 10 days of asking poloniex to give me my money back, I am done. I will check my wallet everyday for a successful withdraw. If it does not, poloniex has officiallly stolen $6,439 USD of my money. <edit> 13 days later, my withdraw has been processed. I made a 2nd withdraw and that was processed right away. I am glad it was resolved but I am still wary. No real explanation for the delay was offered. I have decided to keep this post up to let other users know that Poloniex may hold their funds from time to time.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I'm sick of tyrants like Poloniex, Google, Bing etc... blocking my account then telling me it's for my protecting me it's for my safety and for my protection. Go to North Korea you freedom haters and if I want my money then I want it now and not you "protecting me"!!!!
I'm sick of big companies playing tyrant locking my accounts like bing, google, facebook and other freedom hating companies like those who have tyronized me in the past!
So release his funds now!
No waiting!
No excuses!

Poloniex is know to have issues from time to time sometimes it can be up to 3 weeks for coins to be on wallet. Best is to do this google reddit for poloniex usually they respond immediately and resolve the problem. They are very active there.

Really sad to hear about your troubles,i did have an issue sometime back and i was waiting for my coin for a very long time and every time i ask them they would say it is under process and nothing else,i had lost a lot of money because of their action by holding my coins too long and when i raised my opinion they explained that the site is under massive DDOS attack.

This past few days I noticed that number of threads accusing poloniex freezing their withdrawals is increasing. Don't know if it was still because of said ddos attack. Hope you get your funds immediately before many problem will occur. If many problems came out your chance of having your withdrawal process is getting tight.

Am glad it is resolved. I think they had a huge influx of new users and were manually approving withdrawals for them till they developed enough of a track record for their algo to take over.

And FYI another problem will happen in the future if you have a little bit money aroun 1k-5k$ and You're not from USA or EUROPE they'll ask your data for verfication such as passport, etc and They'll hold your money for the time being, Of course it'll be more than a week

Same problem here, I just created a similar thread. My BTC are stuck there.
People need to be aware of this. Stay away from Poloniex.
