Yeah, bitcoin is the one where the patience profits the user. Volatility is the nature of bitcoin, so the price varies in the forward and backward direction at any unexpected time. Trading is good profiting source, but one need to be observing the price change with time and emotional control should be in our hands. Because you cannot make profit when you wish but only the time gets you the profit. So we need to maintain patience to feel the goodness of trading.

This is why you should only invest in altcoins that you truly believe in so if they drop you just HODL until they're back up to where you brought them at or higher. It doesn't sound like you actually believe in your investments so I'd stop. Ripple and eth are both centralized shitcoins anyways. It's for the best.

stop what? you weren't actually trading before, you were gambling.
you should now start trading instead.
there are certain simple strategies to follow or keep in mind:

1- never buy into the pump:
when price of an altcoin has gone up too much too fast, that should be a red flag for you not to buy it anymore. but if you decided to buy, keep an open eye, keep rule #2 in mind, and sell fast with the rise to make profit and get out quick

2- stop loss is your friend:
you can do this with some automation like using the feature the exchanges offer you or use a bot. or even do it manually. it means have a negative percentage in mind that you sell no matter what. in altcoins it can be -5 to -10% drop and you dump and get out. i usually do it at -1% and my profit targets are usually 5% to 15% that means safe profit and always successful trading.

3- never fall for a hype in altcoins:
know that altcoins are mostly pump and dump and for that people will hype them up with lies. and the bigger the altcoin the bigger and more spread the lies. so just get your profit and get out fast. and only invest in bitcoin for long term.

The answer is simple too, what's done is done. You've stopped already and sold all of them because you couldn't wait or you lost all your patience and probably got scared and panicked.

the decission would belong to you because only you could suffer this losses from your trading activities but you had make bad decission with buying the coin when it was pumped and sell immediately because you will fear huge losses but if i to be like you i would continue my trade activities and still curious to recover my losses and better do not trade with emotion because it will ruin your trading results

Buying at the top is never a good idea. Many people will always get caught in bull traps, the fatlct that you sold after the dump puts you in a bad position in terms of recouping losses. Best hope would be a rally in bitcoin's price once again but that seems a bit unlikely in terms of the market's momentum at the moment.

loses is part of learning on how to become a professional trader. Don't quite yet as doing that will not allow you to benefit from the lesson you have learned from this loss of 40%. You need to have this in mind as trading is buy at wholesale price and sell at retail price. Crypto currencies trading is not different from normal sell and buying.

It is sad to say the least, but if you are contemplating to quit trading on account of then the whole lot of traders philosophy was never in you. A smart trader would rather see a picture that 40% of his money is tied up somewhere, then step backwards to unravel his mistakes or in actions and learn from them, that is the story of all successful traders.

Trading is an art and needs to be learnt and it is unfortunate so many people/traders out here are of the opinion that with crypto-trading - no studies or analysis is needed. I know they will come to see vividly some day that a trader just can't buy or sell at any market price and not having some trading  plan or strategy is an open invitation to go burst.

experience is the best teacher as said by an English teacher. You should look at this 40% losses as fee you actually paid to the market for what you have learned. We can not actually continously make profit as a trader even professional loss in trading time to time. Your not quitting after heavy loss is what makes you a professional trader.

The basic thing which a trader should have is Patience. So you should stop for the day or until you understand the system. Emotions is the one thing which you have to leave and get on with trading. Dont think that 40% is a loss, you got a good experience and use it from now.

Except that's trading with hope, the worst emotion in trading.   I agree with above; OP doesn't know what he's doing and shouldn't be trading--for his own sake.  If he keeps this up,  he's going to keep failing.   Not everyone is cut out to be a trader and if you're making stupid mistakes like this...yeah.

You should play with a very small amount like $200 or so, and read a lot, learn a lot, you ain't gonna get rich over night, there's a lot to learn to succeed, you just learned an expensive lesson, don't forget it.
