新华网华盛顿5月28日消息，美国国防部长马蒂斯28日说，朝鲜半岛发生武力冲突的代价巨大，美方愿意同中方共同合作来解决朝鲜半岛核问题。

马蒂斯在当天播出的一段美国媒体采访中说，朝鲜半岛若发生冲突，将引发“灾难性战争”。美方正在和国际社会共同努力解决朝核问题，并已明确表示愿意就此和中方进行合作。美方认可中方在解决这一问题上作出的努力。

美国政府4月26日表示，美方寻求通过加大对朝经济制裁力度和外交施压相结合，以实现朝鲜半岛无核化。美方对通过谈判来实现该目标持开放态度，但同时做好了保卫美国和盟友安全的准备。

今年以来，朝鲜半岛局势持续紧张，引发国际社会普遍关注。朝鲜外务省发言人5月1日曾发表谈话说，目前的半岛局势是50年来最严重的，朝鲜将坚持拥有核武，这样美国才不能把它对其他国家的侵略行为无所顾忌地用在朝鲜身上。
