I'm quite interested to get into litecoin mining. What exactly do I need to get equipment wise where I'm not spending crazy amounts and how do I get started once I get this equipment? I figured pool mining would probably be best. Sorry for the super noobish question but wasn't much information on google in comparison to bitcoin.
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

You'll HAVE to spend a sizeable amount of money on an ASIC, if you can even find one in stock.

Okay. I know I'm willing to spend up to 1k on mining tools that are sufficient for me to pool mine. I could spend more if you guys think its necessary just rather wouldn't.

buy the L3 it cost a bit but it's very profitable to have one now, it earn quite a lot, and don't consume too much, around 800watt, the only problem is that i'm not sure if this thign is available, i think you need to wait for the next batch

nice information mate i was watching this and wait for some information regarding to how to have cheaper way to mine litecoin
as we all seeing a good potential coming from this coin, the only problem is my place have an expensive electricity that's why
i really need some device which only consume much lesser, will check if the equipment will be available soon.

Litecoin has NOT been mineable at anything like a profit for years now - I forget exactly when the first Gridseed GC3355 "orb" came out, but it quickly sold enough to put GPUs out of the business forever. I *think* that was about 4 years back, but I could be off some.

Your only VIABLE choices are ASIC - if you dig around, you can probably find some older-generation gear like the Innosilicon A2 available for fairly cheap, and it's QUITE profitable right now if you have low power costs.
Ditto the Alcheminer, if you can find one or any of it's "clones" like the MAT units.
Ditto the KNC Titan cubes (most of which are probably down to the cores that will last along time, those things had HORRIBLE "core dies, cube down to only 75% of it's capability" type issues the first 2 years they were being sold.

Unfortunately, Innosilicon has declined to bring the pricing on it's A4 unit down to even close to a competative price to the Bitmain L3+, so I can't recommend those - a little over half the hashrate for a little MORE power usage and a HIGHER price just doesn't make sense. If they bring the A4 down to more like $800 it WOULD start making sense.

Availability on the L3+, like on ANY current-generation mining gear, has been spotty due to limited foundry capasity available to mining chip makers.
I believe the next batch of the L3+ is slated to be available sometime in JULY - though you will find some units available now from third parties at GOUGE pricing.

actually there are better option in scrypt coin, than litecoin, you better check on whattomine what the most profitable, because litecoin is not even in top 5, if you want to consume less, wait for the new L3+ or lite, i don't know the name, this thing should consume half for half the speed

The L3+ is the most efficient Scypt miner at this time.

The folks that bought KNC's assets out of bankrupcy are *talking* about building a new Scrypt miner that will be more efficient - but I'll believe THAT when I see it, KNC has a rather long record of inflated claims they rarely could live up to once they finally managed to get their gear out the door almost ALWAYS way late if at all.
