I have a friend who doesn't have all the money in the world. He's looking to spend around $100 for a video card for ethereum mining. What's the best value video card for ethereum mining? I looked at a mining comparison chart and still can't make up my mind. AMD r7 370 4gb?

no the best one is the 470 4gb for now, you have also a good hash with a 480 4gb, this for ethereum + dual mining, if your electricity is nearly free you can look at the old gpu with worse efficiency such as 7950, 280x

back in time everybody was mining with R9's, prob you can find some used in that range, but those are pretty risky imo since were used for months.

Rx470 is much better rather than r7, With a little gap of his price range and i think will be better to buy rx470

Ok, I gotta ask. Now that the rx 5xx series is out. What's the way to go? The 4xx series, or the 5xx Series. I advised my friend to get an 8gb model to future proof. However, all the cards I'm seeing are being price hiked. What's the way to go now? He finally has the money to buy I think.
