Btc or Ltc?

Im lookin for a long-term investment and have 1000$.
I cant decide if btc or ltc is better?
What would you choose?

if you open a chart and look at the whole history i think you can easily get your answer for long term investment.
where bitcoin is always rising up in long term, gaining more than double its value annually, altcoins only rise up for short period of time and then go downwards for the rest of the year until their next pumping phase comes up and they rise again.

so my suggestion is investing in bitcoin for long term and investing in litecoin for short. although some coins that are big and popular such as LTC are a bit different and short term in their cases doesn't necessarily have to be very short such as a week to a month as it is with other altcoins.

Bitcoin and Litecoin don’t need to be in contest, and if Bitcoin activates Segwit and the eventual Lightning network, they could work very well together in atomic cross-chain transactions. Yes, sometime in the near future you may buy your coffee by cross chain swapping some BTC for LTC.

Bitcoin LN txns will always be more expensive than Litecoin LN txns. It may make economic sense for a LN txn to go via Litecoin and back to Bitcoin to get the cheapest rate. Lightning makes this possible because it allows the two LN to be interoperable.

With atomic cross-chain transactions via LN two users can trade BTC and LTC instantaneous and without risk. Efficient decentralized exchanges are possible. Or what if a merchant accepts only BTC but you only have LTC. You can now pay LTC and exchange them instantly through a LN exchange node and send BTC to the merchant. Litecoin is better suited for Micropayments.

Both will have Confidential transaction by masking the amount sent at first stage of development then later combining Coinjoin and creating false negatives and pay zero bitcoins to several addresses to obfuscate where the bitcoins really went.

I choose BTC, because BTC was already establish and famous to all users. However LTC, was already establish and famous but their market value was not like BTC that increased from time to time. Maybe, their value were raised up but not too much high like BTC.

I have made good money from Litecoin over the last few weeks. I have put aside 1 Bitcoin as investment for dark days or pension. Whatever you want can tag this thing but Bitcoin is gaining huge value with every passing year. People shouting for it to be worth of few hundred thousands dollars have their points which can not be thrown away totally. Bitcoin is best and only option if you are looking for long term.

I prefer choose bitcoin because bitcoin is more profitable than litecoin, many people in some country accept bitcoin as their currency.

All coins have a price rise or fall in the long run, sometimes alt coin is priced higher than bitcoin, sometimes also bitcoin higher than alt coin, if it tries me long term investment and safe, I prefer investing into bitcoin because it's The higher the day, yesterday had the price of bitcoin reached its highest price, and many people there who profit because bitcoin rise

Both,I'm for that, or like some other members already said take a look on couple more coins. Bitcoin is perfect for long term investment, price is constantly going up, you can't make mistake if you hold bitcoins for 5 or more years.
Ltc is cheap for now, some other coins rises a lot and I think ltc will climb more, that coin deserves to be higher then now.
Other coins can bring good profit too, so be open minded and check some of them, maybe you can find something that you like.

But why between the two ,both are profitable you just think on how to divide your $1000 between this highly potential coin like make it 70 /30 in favor of Bitcoin if you only thinking between these two coins or allocate 10% to other potential new coin like XAURUM

Maybe from there it is clear how Btc develops from time to time, if you have to compare with Ltc is very different, because Btc in the market is in great demand by many people who want to invest, because Btc its future looks very good.

I will most probably go for bitcoin. This is obvious because of its price and steady increase in the market. I am very afraid of dump and pumps in the altcoin market. It can lead to loss; a lot of it. Also understanding altcoins is very poor for me and I'm not interested in learning them. :-)

BTC has definitely a good advantage than LTC in a most obvious reason. BTC is the origin, and most popular coin out there. It has higher value and of course well used coin nowadays. But on the otherhand, it is always good to try something that has more potential to grow.

Um,,, For long term BTC is good, but LTC is good too with more long term investment. But, i prefer you should try another coin with good reputation and good marketcap like doge, burst, eth, or another.

I can suggest you to invest 60 % to cloud mining for eth or zec or btc + ltc, other money 20 % - btc, 20 % - ltc

I rather buy bitcoin than litecoin. I don't trust litecoin. There's a lot of good altcoins in the market which is a lot better than litecoin. Look for XRP(Ripple), CRBIT(creditbit), WAVES, ETH(etherum), DGB(digibyte) and SC(siacoin). They are very undervalue. But its your money. You decide. Im just giving better option.

Yes, it is so, if many buy the price of a coin will go up, And if many are selling then the price of the coin will also go down.

Bitcoin is the safe bet, litecoin the much more risky one but with potential for greater rewards. Personally I would go for bitcoin cause history has shown you can never lose on bitcoin whereas litecoin has shown you only win during the big pumps and the rest of the time you end up being down.

If you can't decide which you would invest in then I suggest you to divide your $1000 into two. $500 would be invested in btc for long term and $500 would go to LTC. I'm sure you already have an idea on both coins that's why you are asking other peoples objective on which coins would make you more profitable.

What about the ETH rocket? 

ETH has made its move and it is a really risky proposition to enter the coin at this valuation,i would go for litecoin because i do expect that there is a rally left in the coin and since you have a limited budget i would suggest invest in litecoin as that is the under valued coin right now in the market.
