I'm just wondering does who has tdp at 80 for 24/7?  I been very careful not to damage the card for long term usage.  I keep it at under 75% tdp and temperature under 58c by the time it's night all the cards avg 45c.  So far I have 15 1080ti for more than 2 weeks and all of them work 24/7

this is like 2 days straight temperatures haven't reach 60c

I run mine at 78 to 80, 63c - they are good to way more (the power vram/power chokes are good to 110). Gamers take them to 80c regularly.

i am 80 tdp usually same yupp, really the 1080ti is so powerful it still does fine and less on power limit = insta less heat! Smiley  great for these months, mine are running 60 degrees as i type, with the one on the end at 53 ;p   lol

That's pretty good. Which model are they? Our cards should run at 80% TDP till they are obsolete. Even smart miners who undervolt their 7970s during the btc days have their cards running today. That's 5 years.

So do you guys recomend us to use about 70% to 80% tdp!?
Im using 110% 24/7, 75C tops, do you know how this temp and usage can reduce lifespan of the cards!?

Normally gamer are playing at OC and not surprised to run at 85c!

I believe if you keeping it at below 80 should be ok. High tdp will consume more watts so its your choice to get highest hash rate or optimum hash/watt ratio

If you can keep it cool, running at higher tdp is ok as long your bill still come in low Smiley

Thanks everyone looks like I could keep the same settings.  When I started it's EVGA 1080ti SC Blacks is mostly available to buy.  I got a quad of FTW3 from another state for testing, and no tax.  They ran slightly cooler but they start at 280w.

There is a calculator at nicehash and it is useful except a few coins that are not listed. You can also try whattomine to calculate profit with 1080ti. You need to input values like hash rate, power, cost manually.

Curtis - I honestly suggest you do some more due diligence.

Paper wallet - off network - secure but not easy to transfer (relative term as it would take mere minutes or less) for mining, your address for receiving payments will point to a wallet - that wallet will receive the payments on the block chain. paper wallets have zero to do with receiving as far as I know.

I prefer doing minimum RMA and fan swaps. Stability is also an important issue because my farm is in  remote location, hence a preference for 80% TDP.

Sure you can run them 110%, the cards will be fine. It's probably 5-10% more hash rate than at 80% TDP, but 37.5% more power usage. Do the spreadsheets to see if the extra hash offsets the extra power usage.

It's not a huge deal if mean time before failure is 10 years or 5 years. Just that there's a higher chance of card failure, and more heat to deal with, unacceptable for large farm owners. Remember dead cards are out of action while RMA, and you may have to pay shipping, and it's a lot of unnecessary work.

All very valid points - especially the increase hash to power ratio - Im small potatoes in hash power, but I am glad I thought that was important too, and looked at it. KaydenC thanks for the honesty.

Can you share your settings?

I have 2 1080ti's and never get under 70deg C.  70% TDP/73Temp Limit/+175 Core Clock/-500 Mem/75% Fan runs @ 175W on Skein.

I'm getting some disappointing hash rates, can anyone guess why? I'm using this miner - https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer - on Linux. With lyra2v2, I was getting 45 mhash with an intensity of 19, which seemed OK, but my system crashes after 2-3 hours of mining like this. Now mining with -i at 15, my mhash drops to 25. edit: setting -i to 18 seems to be going steady @ 50% fan/83c/190-220W/85%-90% volatile GPU-util = 50 MH/s. Better, but not $10/day better.

I tried skein, got about 340-345 mhash/s. still on the low end I think. What can I do? I've only ever overclocked on Windows before. And oh the coil whine on lyra...

For skein, you want the alexis78 version of ccminer - I was seeing ballpark 500ish mhash/s on GTX 1070s as I recall (might have been on a 1080 though) - the ti should be a fair bit faster.

83c is VERY HIGH for a 24/7 mining GPU (The old R9 Hawaii GPUs could handle that high a temp reliably, little else can), and your fan setting is very low - 50% on a MINING card is going to overheat and cause issues unless you're in a VERY COLD environment.
Kick that fan up to at least 80%, or better yet put a fan profile into Afterburner that's all-in by 80C.

$10/day for one card is probably dead, too many folks have jumped in over the last couple months with WAY too many cards + coins have had a drop the last week and change.
It might come back, it might not, but it would take a large price jump on one of the major GPU mineable coins to bounce it back up to that level for more than a day or two.

Santa, you need to test your cards at 70,80,90,100 and beyond and see if the extra POWER consumption is WORTH the extra hash. In my experience 80 on MY cards is about the sweet spot.
