Hello,

I have currently 1 x GTX970 and 1xGTX1060 , I have ordered a 1080ti evga.
I have a 750W power supply currently , do you think it will be enough when I add the 1080ti ?

Thanks

Don't think it's enough, one 1080ti runs at around 250W.
MSI gtx 1080 ti and others powerful version uses 300W!

Ok if it draws around 300w , my other 2 cards are drawing around 270w I think ( 970 and 1060 ) this makes 570. maybe the remaining is enogh for cpu and others ?

Add ~50w for all other parts (mobo, ram, ssd, fans) and your core tdp. If you're under 80%-85% of psu load it's okay. If you're above, your psu can act like little plane with it's fan and die quickly.

My cpu is 4790k i7 , 2 x 8 ram ddr3 , 1 ssd , 4 fans .

Calculator shows around 740W average load but recommend at least 800w , I am only using it for mining.

It's depending on psu. On evga 850w gold I'm using 800w from it. But my XFX TF 750w start aircraft engine when it's load goes up 600w.
It's psu thing, with modern platinum rated psu you could use nearly 100% of it.

Personally, I use a 1000W Thermaltake RT RX2 thermaltake power supply in my gaming PC I use to mine. In this setup I use a Ryzen 1700 with downclock and 2 1080ti, an MSI armor with G10 + H55) and an Evga SC2 that I use in 70% (power limit). I bought Gaming X now and I have the following problem ...
The whole system recognizes the 3 boards, but when I put it to mine the windows latch. I tried reducing the power limit to 50% and still hangs.
I think my power supply is not supporting the 3 video cards.
What do you think is best? To buy a source of 1300W or 2 of 850W?
Ps: remembering that I intend to reach 6 video cards.

If you can aim at 700-850w psu in good price. It let you expand to 3 cards (if 850, when down on tdp), take modular one! Those extra 15-30$ really worth mess-less build. From my personal experience EVGA is one of the best. Also buy gold and higher for mining. As You'll be using power 24/day those few percent efficiency will really add up.

Well Max power draw I saw somewhere was around 320w per 1080ti. So yeah, you will need at least 2000W to run system stable .

Thanks! I think better get 2 good 1200 PSU to have some extra power so PSU won't die fast while working at full load/overloaded.

Guys i need someone to answer me this properly or so. IF i were to make 1 rig with 7x 1080 Ti, i plan to buy Zotac AMP! Extreme, how much PSU Wattage i need? Can i do it with 2x 1000? or 2x 860?

I have 1 rig also with Zotac AMP! Extreme, but 1070. Cards are beasts and on 100% they can pull 250W that's their nominal power (although on 100% they never drain more then 150-160W when they do zcash and similiar algos, at least from what i remember). My 7x Zotac 1070 rig draws around 1100 W from the wall (i have watt meter) and they are on 2x Corsair AX860i, so around 1700 W overal. Here i have even 600 wats more then i need. System is super stable and works like a charm. On eth i get 31-32MHS, on signatum around 31 and on Zcash i get 420-430 sols per card.

I run 1 Rig with 7gtx 1070 - 4x Zotac AMP! Extreme, 2x Msi Gaming x and 1x Msi aero on just 2x Corsair HX750i and also works like a charm, i have like 400 watts extra.

And 1 rig runs on just 1 Seasonic 1000w Supply, 6x gtx 1070, those are mix of weaker cards and stronger. 2x Asus dual oc, 1x Zotac mini, 1 Msi gaming x and 2x Gigabyte Aorus. Also runs perfectly fine with no issues. I have like 300 watt extra.

My zotacs are always from 50-60% Power limit, i dont need higher as they give amazing hashrates on this, and they just start heating more, so it's not worth it.
I guess 1 1080TI on 50-70% power limit shouldnt drain more then 225w per card, that equals 1575 + cpu mobo and such. I would say 2x1000W or 1x1000 + 1x860 should be enough or?

Dunno why you put this huge numbers and use 1200W PSU-s for just 3 or 4 cards.

The AMP Extreme is inadequately cooled according to GamersNexus.

Really depends on the algo... For example, mining skein or skunk you can reduce your power to 70% with only a minor loss in hash power and cut your card power draw to about 160w or so.

But if mining zec, you need to clock the core and memory higher and this is where good cooling like on the MSI GamerX or eVGA comes in.

Did I help you? If yes, hit me up with some Eth!
