whats the round up for Q4 2017?

what does the 1080Ti do best currently?

Yeah, what is currently best to mine (something that is steady earner, not needing to change coin every day)?
I dont trus www.whatomine.com at all, those numbers are wrong...
Mine Zcoin now with which you will be earning $2.7/day/card. You will be saving money on electricity also as card will run on 55% TDP.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Hey guys,
I heard ahashpool and/or hash rafinery are best places to rent 1080ti hashing power, and supposedly they can give up to $4 per card daily,
that is way higher than other sources - are there any merit to this claim?

I'm currently on zcoin, and I ain't keen on experimenting too much, but if somebody has experience, pls do share.

Thanks

Maybe it is some smaller pool which got lucky and found more blocks than it should, so profitability was a bit higher.

Well for hashrefinery (30days test) 5x Ti got stable 0.001/ea BTC per day (not excluding costs).
So it's 4-3$ per day.

Zcash is the steadiest coin in my opinion. Largest market cap of equihash algo with lowest volatility.

If you are content with switching, you will make slightly more. Zcoin, lyra2v2 algo has same revenue but it uses 130W of power only. You'll need to upgrade your rigs to CUDA 9 for best performance. I like less heat and saving a few cents of power, so I'm at zcoin now.

Im not familiar with CUDA upgrade, but I like the sound of 130w usage. Could you please give some link how to upgrade and mine zcoin?

I'm using latest version of sniffdog miner and ccminers that's included in it. (I'm only switching between skein and  nist5 algo)

I'd say best mining option for 1080ti are some games! Go gaming and make mining for others easier Smiley

I've been struggling to have either Sniffdog or Nemo working stable on my rig. It will always crash at some point. Several times a day. I'm suspecting Alexis might be the biggest offender, but I don't think it's the only one.

What delays/intervals are you setting your miner at?
Also, while I've setup Speedfan to monitor GPU temps (and automatically reboot the rig if any GPU's temp falls below a certain threshold for 10 consecutive minutes), the rig will regularly disconnect completely (i.e. probably failing reboot - and becoming un-controllable from Teamviewer).

All in all a very unsatisfactory situation which I am struggling to fix. Was hoping there would be more people out there who could share similar experiences (and would be interested to know if and how they'd fixed it).

I've set delays at 150 - so I wont lose as much shares from switching every 30 sec ( sometimes, especially on skein 2-3 cards starts hashing right away, then last 2 after 45sec).
Are you OCd your cards? Maybe they are crashing because of too high OC on some algos (that's why I mine only skein and nist5 - they can be used with exactly same OC - also blake2s/lyra/skunk).
Also check Your PL - with some algos (like blake2s) your cards goes WoooooF throu their PL ranging from 10% to 100+% PL (depending on algo which is calculated at the moment). I've let my Zotac Amp Extreme bench with other cards on 100% - aircraf was starting from my PSU Cheesy
For remote controling I strongly advise Google Chrome Remote Desktop. One of few apps that let me reboot my rig and then access without problems You stated. Also You can use it from any device and it's completly free.
If You have any questions feel free to drop me PM, I'll answer all if I can Smiley

What algo do you use? Skein on hashrefinery gives 2.5-3$ per card/day. Some days less, some days more.

Thanks for answering, Leass. Much appreciated. I think I'll keep it in the thread for now as it might benefit others.

Re. delays: are we talking interval here? I set mine at 600 seconds actually.

Re. OC: yes, I'm running an oc indeed, but I've set it relatively low just because of the different handling per algo indeed. I might have to go even more conservative I guess, as I realise it could potentially be a cause for the crashing. Are you saying blake2s, lyra and Skunk should work with one OC setting and Skein/Nist5 with another? Which combo does need throttling more?

Re. PowerLimit: my 1080's are set at 80%. Keeps power draw in check but still allows for some o/c.

Re. Remote desktop: noted, thx. I like Teamviewer, can access the rig(s) with my Lumia 950 (yes, it has a Windows 10 mobile app!). I fear however that when one of those proper crash happens, the only thing I can do is a hard reboot by switching off the WiFi plug (and yes, there's a Win10 mobile app for that too!)

You can mine zcoin at miningpoolhub.com. It has the links to zcoin miner. For CUDA 9, just download it on Nvidia's website and install it.

Yup by delays I mean intervals, 120-150sec works for me, but it depends on try (as I wrote before sometimes X cards starts hashing after Y time).
As for OC from my experience those algorithms (skein, nist, Lyra, skunk, blake2s)  could use same OC settings (for me on Gaming X it's 152cc,-502mc, for other brands it differs, Zotac Amp Extreme Core has core clock + ~100 already on stock).
For me TV was crashing/lagging rig when connecting. Don't have same issues with Chrome Desktop.
Now the biggest problem for me is defreezing my rig remotely (need to buy watchdog for it), because it's located 500 km away and I really like messing around with it Cheesy Today my parents finally brought it up after messing at Friday with xevan miner Smiley
