OGNasty sent my escrowed bitcoin to an unapproved wallet and refuses to provide proof of our conversation and did not request a signature guarantee from the original sending wallet.

He literally made a fake QUOTED conversation of me saying to send my bitcoin to an unapproved address.

To make matters even greater - he now offers the worst customer service I've ever seen from an AA rated escrow agent.

This only leaves two possibilities:
(1) Someone is hacking BitcoinTalk and using OGNasty escrow to scam people

Or

(2) OGNasty is scamming people

A simple screen shot would provide this answer. But he refuses.

--snipe--
-> Please for the sake of Christ use relevant proofs to base your accusation.
-> You've been scammed by a fake OgNasty quote in your inbox or worst case scenario an impersonator.
-> Anyway, please use a proper scam accusation if you wish this to be taken seriously.(having said that I still think the accusation is useless since it looks like a fake quote scam to me)

OGNasty has responded to the OP's post in his escrow thread explaining why this claim is nonsense.  I've always been impressed by how responsive and reasonable he is.

People will take this issue seriously since Ognasty is one of trusted person in this forum.
According to this reply by nasty https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303281.msg19274913#msg19274913 the btc was sent to you and your denying it that you didnt make those message of refund and instead you said here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=303281.msg19276935#msg19276935 that you're account password was changed but it seems there's no changes happens on your account (the one who posted this thread), people can see if there are changes on your account especially the changing of email and passwords. So here, first thing first, why don't you give us proof first? Since you are making accusation here, follow the format mentioned above posts. Then so what now?

This user claimed to me that someone took over his account and scammed him using this phishing link.

Quote
brigitteberizzi.com/ndex/?u=Egdevilboy

Somehow that turned into me having to send him $1,600 or else I would be the victim of a scam accusation.  Sorry.  The fact that he's attacking the escrow agent (who told him in advance this deal was too good to be true, he was being scammed, and not to send funds), instead of the person who sent the phishing link says a lot to me.

All the PMs are still in my inbox if any Admin wants to have a look.  I did nothing wrong and the accusation of doctoring quotes would be easy enough for an admin to disprove if anyone believes any of this guy's story.

EDIT:  Just to help OP's case a little that he's an unreasonable person who made a dumb mistake and not an extortionist, I can see that the password and email have been recently changed on his original account.  Regardless of that, I am not responsible for users keeping their accounts secure.

I offered to act as a vouch for the screenshots if OgNasty didn't want to post them publicly but was denied because he does not want to waste time on the accusation. I did receive a quoted phishing link (as has been posted now above...)

While it is unlikely OgNasty would do anything to scam someone, accusations like this should be taken seriously because I believe there is a real individual who believes they were scammed, one way or the other, and needs validation on what happened.

OP, were you sent any links by the seller that you clicked on and were then prompted to login to the (fake) forum?

What is your account? Who were you dealing with?

Okay I get it now, that the original account OP is supposedly hacked, according from the seclogs. The password was changed recently 3 times this day with different time.

https://i.imgur.com/pFlywQ9.jpg

Okay it was posted above since I'm slow typing while searching the original account of OP. Anyways..

But if its totally true then there's no one to blame but you. For being the responsible of not securing your account.

My policy of not sharing PMs isn't because I don't want to take the time.  It is because my personal conversations with people are between me and them, and this new account alleging a scam has not proved to me he owns the account I was communicating with and has no right to see messages between me and that user.  If an admin or staff member would like to look at my account, all the evidence is preserved there and I won't delete any of it.

If the user wants to sign the address the funds were sent from (1JF3JpFrqTpwLezYSzivMC8sXRCmzv1ESF) stating that he owns the address and is now in control of the new account, I'll be happy to provide a screenshot.

EDIT: It is unacceptable to me that the user has made this allegation and if an admin could set the record straight I'd appreciate it:

He literally made a fake QUOTED conversation of me saying to send my bitcoin to an unapproved address.

Bolded above sounds reasonable.

I understand PM privacy which is why I was offering to vouch for the screenshots. Based on your response to the offer, it appeared that it was related to not wanting to waste time on this accusation. I guess I'll accept this as my mistake. The bolded solution above is a better idea anyway.

No mistake, I don't want to waste time on this.  That however isn't the reason why I don't share PMs.

I removed all of the personal discussion and left the relevant piece to appease the OP and attempt to end this witch hunt.  If you want better than this, pester an admin.

It is really hard to try to reconstruct the correct picture when neither party is giving us the full story/information. From what I can tell, OP claims that OgNasty has sent his Bitcoin to an address specified by someone else (allegedly hacked?). Have you, OgNasty asked him to sign a message when he gave you a different address to refund to?

Do you think a signed a message will give any protection for a hacked account / email? (How do you know who's really talking to you? and who singed the message? and when ? and who's talking after that action? and...) Grin Escrow can only protect FUNDS and not the victim.

Yes, as it always has.

and who singed the message? and when ?
The person who owns the private keys. 'When' is rather trivial, one can request the addition of the latest Bitcoin block hash into the signed message.

and who's talking after that action? and...
It's irrelevant who is talking afterwards if the signed message includes the refund address itself.

Escrow can only protect FUNDS and not the victim.
Doesn't seem like anything was protected.

That was the first thing I did.

The user failed to secure his account and sent me BTC against my wishes/warnings from an address he didn't own the private keys to.  I recognized it was a scam instantly, yet this user was hell bent on sending BTC regardless of me telling him not to and asking him to at least provide an address the BTC will be sent to before sending.  It's a pretty clear cut case of who is at fault.  Blaming me is a stretch that Gumby couldn't make.  I literally told him in advance he was being scammed and not to send funds...

What is your account? Who were you dealing with?

Who was the other guy? Presumably the person who hacked the OP's account is the person he was dealing with.

Unless I made a calculation error, it looks like the OP sent OgNasty 0.70940373 BTC via 916011f0ce85928f9818985ab534a4dbf0c71f649cca118db37dee0d67b6eeb9 - this tx was confirmed at 2017-05-30 03:30:43 per bc.i (it looks like this is GMT time). The sending address is 1JF3JpFrqTpwLezYSzivMC8sXRCmzv1ESF which I somewhat suspect to be connected to a mixer of some sort (strange). upon further investigation, I no longer believe this

OgNasty subsequently released 0.70075615 BTC via 0d207e941bfd55b40bdf30c5710aeed7d39a89aadb8318e28f98f71a05d02de4 to 12SjeiierEgcZ7ipx2wm8H9QYR2peg8XZc - this tx was confirmed at 2017-05-30 08:32:22 per bc.i

Per the security log, the OP's account was hacked at Today at 04:26:38 AM (GMT), and according the OgNasty's screenshot, he received a PM asking to send funds to 12SjeiierEgcZ7ipx2wm8H9QYR2peg8XZc abouut 4 minutes later. This means that OgNasty took around 4 hours to release the BTC to the different address.

I would not consider it to be entirely unreasonable for OgNasty to release the BTC to a different address after a 4 hour delay if he is communicating with both parties and receives no conflicting instructions during that time.
